Great vid, showing the difficulty of sand, and also showing quite an evident discrepancy in rider skills. Would be interesting to see same rider trying the various bikes.

Great to see all the big boys out together.
Looks like Skill is the biggest difference between this lot :)
Looks like a great day. Thanks for putting it up.

Really nice video, congrats to the camera man.
I own the same 990 Black Edition and I am selling it to get a Super Tenere.
I don´t think I would ever have the opportunity to put the bike in the same consitions, and as far as I could see the ST followed the group till the end, despite of being the heavier bike with the heavier pilot...
For sure the best pilots in this crew were riding the smaller bikes... As well putted it would be nice to see them riding the big babies.

good to see mere mortals riding big bikes. It gives you more idea what they are like to ride.
    Great video

Awesome video guys! Nice way to see different bikes handling the same terrain. I'm sure the riders play a part of that, but still, some bikes just seemed like they had an easier time negotiating certain obstacles.

Great video guys, liked it.....guy on the Tenere needs to learn to stand on the pegs more, he'd have better control....

I've been watching too much Birch and Jarvis. It's nice to see riders at about the same skill level as myself.

As expected the lightest bikes were the best

Armoured Division !! to funny but true! In sand momentum is everything

  • @fudgypup
    @fudgypup Před 12 lety +2

The Yamaha guy most needed momentum but seemed least likely to take advantage of it. I'm sure he's gotten better on the bike since then. Also, I hope this was private property because all that "improvisation" tends to shut down riding areas, especially by the Euro-weenies.

Let me put it this way. Sand is where I got to know my 800gs the best. It's hard as hell but rewarding and technically evolving.

To be fair, the same rider should ride each bike. Here we don't know if the bike is bad or the driver.

There appears to be an off road formula: 600cc-800cc are evidently, much more capable than the heavier, so called adventure bikes.

These big and powerful motorcycles are magnificent everywhere, except sand plus of a hill and in dirt mountain plus. They are very high and very heavy. Ryder with normal physical data and normal equipment of driving unable to operate them in such conditions.

Great video guys, thanks for the demonstration. I also noticed that the "heavier" motorcyclists were on the bulkier motorcycles and those pilots seemed to have less experience riding as well? It would have been nice to see the same motorcyclists operate each bike in each terrain type as well.
Again, thanks for creating this video!!

If you ever tried building as much as a bicycle you'd know how difficult it is to build anything complex.
Hence, you'd be more respectful to those that actually do build motorcycles like the Tenere.
I fucking hate the neo-Greek mentality.
