The Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z is an adventure to ride on or off road. Installing hard parts and accessories that keep it protected and running well should be a priority, and AltRider is developing a full line to help you do so.
In this video, AltRider's Jeremy LeBreton shows you what this bike can do in some gnarly terrain, while lead industrial designer Don Hogan explains the features of AltRider parts.
AltRider crash bars for the Super Tenere are made of one inch stainless steel and allow for the glove compartment to be accessed.
The AltRider skid plate for the Super Tenere is made of 4.75 mm anodized aluminum, and mounts using 3.125 mm stainless steel brackets.
AltRider also provides an exhaust heat shield, a rear brake master cylinder guard, and a universal joint guard.
The AltRider ABS Switch will soon be available as a true plug-and-play solution for disabling the Super Tenere's ABS.

I purchased a 2019 machine.I tend to keep bikes until at least 80.000 miles.I do 12.000 a year.and have been riding 42 years.This is a fantastic bike to own.Super reliable.54mpg.shaft drive.good looking.easy to service.
It's a tried and true adventure bike!

Not sure why the Super Tenere is underrated. Today I went down to my local dealership and sat on the following 2016 bikes back to back. KTM 1190, Honda Africa Twin and Yamaha Super Tenere. I can tell you without any reservation that the feel, fit and finish of the Super Tenere was miles above the other two bikes mentioned. Still not sure why the bike is underrated.
I'll tell you why it's underrated , because it not even close to the 1190R and Africa Twin adventure wise and ill give you facts to prove it.
KTM 1190/1090R Suspension Travel - 220 mm Front/Back (1090R and 1290R Have PDS which is great offroad)
Africa twin Suspension Travel -230 mm Front - 220 Back
Super Tenere Supension Travel - 190 mm Front - 190 Back
Africa Twin and 1190R/1090R/1290R - All of these have a 21 Inch rim and 18 Rear
Super Tenere - 19 inch front 17 Back like the BMW's
1190R/1090R/1290R weight 235/230/240 KGS and Africa twin 230 and about 240 for DCT
Super Tenere weight 261 KGS
While all of the mentioned KTM and the Twin have a ground clearance of 250 MM the Super Tenere Stands at 205 MM
They only awesome thing that the Super Tenere has is that shaft drive which is cool , not like the flimsy BMW one that cracks like a pos.
Many are choosing it because its more of a toured than an adventure bike....When it comes to offroad you cant ignore none of the above points :)
It's a travel bike, not an offroad bike. For offroad I'll take a KTM EXC 500...
@@BackHurtsBad i agree with all the points you covered but its work like magic offroad. Africa twin has introduced the same parallel twin 270 deg but Yamaha has it 8 years ago. It balances so well off and on road and it's more powerful than AT.

@englishjr The panel on the right uses 1/4-turn fasteners, and houses the batter, and toolkit, so we did allow clearance to remove that panel with the bars installed.
Your bars assume the bike will be layer down on a flat surface, if the bile is layed down of road a rock can have a direct hit on the engin.
You can actually combine the AltRider uppers with the factory Yamaha lowers and have full protection if you need it. They can be fitted together.

Some well thought about and skilfully crafted components. Do you create these items for other adventure bikes? I'm a metal fabricator with 27 yrs exp and I'm surprised that you've not chosen titanium. Although, more expensive similar in weight as aluminium. yet as strong as stainlesss

I like your stuff and your design philosophy. HOWEVER, I really feel that you are missing the boat by not offering lower protection for the bike. If you crash the tenere on a flat surface, like a road, you may not need lower protection. BUT, when you take that bike offroad, there may be plenty of rocks that make the surface uneven and cause damage to the lower and most vital parts of the bike when the bike falls over.
Great presentation and sturdy looking products , I will consider these products.
You guys are doing a great job! But i would love to see how it does in the SNOW say MT.Rainier area or where ever they're may be snow! Also do you know can the windshield be completly removed??
Do the crash bars need to be removed to take off the side panels?

what kind of tires are you guys using for full off roading part adventures ? awsome product and idea , adventure style riding is becoming huge all over the world ! so many places to explore and go compaired to a street or dirt pacific bikes ! awsome vid
