The bars were from Motea, and the cable set was needed which were from burlybrand in U.K , so clutch , brake and wiring was extended.. bars I think are 16" 👍
Hiya great videos Just abit of help & advice Please Im thinking of buying my 1st harley davidson sportster 1200 its on a 2003 carb model What do you think of the carb sportster
Cheers 👍.. In my opinion, carb sporties are great bikes, a few friends have them and would not change for efi.. they are reliable as long as looked after so go ahead and get one and enjoy it mate 👍
How can you say it is better having an empty space, a kind of a hole just above the engine? The plastic wiring protecion gives a special finish to the bike and avoids a hole through which you can see the other side just above the engine.
Some love the look, others may not. Personal choice, but probably 90% of owners have gone this route so I would say majority prefer to see through the engine 👍
Hi, that has never been an issue with any bike. In fact some models the coil is mounted this way from factory, only issues i have come across is the occasional failed mount due to retaining bolts vibrated loose, but as far as coil is concerned. It should never be a problem. 👍
@@ALCHEMOTO Thank you for taking the time to reply.. I watched your video because I have considered a tank lift and reroute of the wires - however - I’ve always felt that anything over 1.5 inches is too much. I would only slightly lift the tank. Some have also relocated the ignition switch to the mount between the cylinders.. please give your opinion on that, as it raises my previous question on being subject to vibration. Thanks for what you do!
@@davidt9841 Hi David. Your right. Anything too high on a lift just looks daft. This is why I now dont do tank lift but do the tuck and relocation as it stands. 1 inch is fine but looks better if put 2inch riser and lift bars with it so headstock not tok low in front of tank. The lines look better. Either way dont worry about vibration. There is no more or less than in standard configuration 👍. Again there are kits to move the ignition with the coil bracket. For me its a good clean look and know a few who have done it without issues 👍 Cheers
3.3g tank of iron 883/1200. Or any other sportster. Just make sure if bike efi, you get later tank and not early carb model unless yours is. Plenty available on ebay etc 👍
Nice video, nice bike. Thanks!
Cheers 👌
Love your Garage Series videos! Always very informative!! 🤟🤘
Missed this comment 😬😆. Thanks mate

Looks GREAT Martin ! Good job !
Thanks mate 👍
Glad i stumbled across this. Dont like tank lifts, so this is definitely the way forward.
👊. Cheers Scott. Yep, abolish tank lifts 😁. Little more involved to hide wiring but in my opinion looks aesthetically better 👌
Don't know why, I've never thought about that. Hmm. Good idea that. Cheers, Alan.
Winter jobby 😄👍
Never thought of what Alan?
Great video man, I'll have it on again when I do mine next week
Cheers 👍. And enjoy the tuck 😉👊
Looks much more pleasing to the eye with the wire tucked away mate.
It can be fiddly but worth it 👍😁
I need to order mine soon
How long you been sayin that mate 😄👍
I love the bars he has on his bike! What kind are them and did he have to add length to his clutch and brake cables?

my understanding is, it helps cool the engine more.
Mate your a sod. Just had to order some more stuff for the bike. That looks awesome
You mean... influenced 🤔🤣🤣👍
@@ALCHEMOTO that's the word I was looking for fella
bike looks beautiful after the tuck! what sissy bar is that?
Definately makes a difference 👍.. the sissy bar is from motea. Stu has had a few bits from there that I fit, and to be fair, the quality is good. 👍
So much better without a tank lift!
Agreed... everyone wanted one 10 year ago 😁.. now I just get asked to do the wire tidy 👍👊
With the coil mounted between the cylinders have you experienced any vibration issues affecting the coil?
