Wow! My first time getting onto an airplane was with American Airlines may 17 1982 from Montego Bay to NY JFK love hearing our Jamaican flight controlers keep the great videos coming Stewy you doing good job.
It's great hearing from you, I have always wondered what it felt like flying on a airplane back then compared to now in terms of comfort,it would be great to hear your feedback, thanks for the big up for the air traffic controllers I hope they read your comment and thanks for watching and commenting much appreciated I will keep the videos coming, have a blessed one
Can't agree with you more. The first time I got on an airplane was July of 81 to NY. I could spend a whole day watching planes landing and taking off.
More fun hearing those load engines and felt more powerful md80 was my favorite plane
Loud
@@itsalifestyle6276 MD 80 was loud and took up all the runway on departure, thanks for watching and commenting

Glad you liked Noah, book a flight to jamrock and come see, have a blessed one
Air Traffic Control wrong for rushing the AA2300 … the runway is yours until you land or take off … slow down the incoming traffic behind
Thanks for watching and commenting much appreciated have a blessed one
Very busy airport 🇨🇦
Jamaica needs to keep the expansion of its airports going in anticipation of future passenger traffic
The work definitely continues Karl lots more to come
Bless up. Good videos, keep them coming. I guess some pilots don't know the meaning of expedite.
Bless up Corey, more to come have a blessed one
A nice cup of coffee to watch Stewy's broadcast. Thanks
You are most welcome, thanks for watching and commenting much appreciated you have a blessed one
😂😂 I just love my people! Tower: American 2230 move now sir, take off now
Have to give them a little encouragement sometimes, thanks for watching and commenting much appreciated
Beautiful video as ALWAYS Stewy... American 2300 seemed like they weren't ready to leave Mobay😂 American 2300 "MOVE NOW SIR TAKEOFF"😂😂
Thanks Enrique, the other American flight was coming in fast, have a blessed one and thanks for watching and commenting
These pilots will taxi extremely slow for departure.....that will delay their arrival just to make extra $$$$$.
That’s stupid they’re not paid by the hour.
Wow air traffic was rushing that AA flight. Never arrived from this direction before.
Some times they need to give them a little push, this is Jamaica in 2023 busy place lol , it's nice coming from that side, there's a group of bungalows in the water which makes a heart from above, pretty cool, have a blessed one and thanks for watching and commenting
@@1STEWY maybe I will get lucky on my next trip to see that.
Morning, do you do UK 🇬🇧 flights also.😊
Yes I do catch a few UK flights mainly TUI for now but come winter time there's usually more UK flights, have a blessed one and thanks for watching and commenting, bless up the UK viewers
@2:12 Those are called wing tip vortex.
Thanks much for your response, they are cool to see, have a blessed one and thanks for watching and commenting much appreciated
I guess 25 will be the runway of choice for most operations, going forward. Especially since it is so close to the tower, winds in mind.🤷🏽♂️
I think wind will always be the determining factor, have a blessed one and thanks for watching and commenting
What's the length of the runway now that it has been extended ?
I love watching this channel.
New length 10,039ft , glad you love the channel, thanks for watching and commenting much appreciated have a great one
Notice the approaches are from the East and take offs to the west. Is it due to weather and wind conditions or due to the extra runway length added? Not used to this approach in all the many times I have landed and taken off from Sangster's International. If so going to miss my days of coming over my part of Jamaica in the West seeing Lucea and the coastline of Hanover. Also airplane spotting out by Dead End.
Loving these videos and have always been fascinated with airplanes from the days as a youngster when I spent hours at the now gone waving gallery, while one of my parents wrapped up a shift at work in the airport. As I started flying early in life to places like Toronto and New York City, even made trips on DC series propellor planes and Boeing 707..
It was just the wind direction for that day, the lucea side runway 07 is the more commonly used approach , you do have some history of the airport, the DC series propeller planes, I wonder how many gates existed at that time and the runway length, let me know if you can, where did those DC airplanes fly to and what was the flight time, it would be great to get some info from someone who was actually there,in my next video you will see the approach from the lucea end,it was a pleasure hearing from you Gary, hear is my email address divestew@yahoo.com , I have so many questions for you thanks in advance, have a blessed one
@@1STEWY most of my flying then was to visit relatives in Toronto and NYC area as a very young person. Believe they made a stop somewhere along the way but a bit fuzzy. Just know it was a bumpy ride. Those days my Dad worked as a Customs Officer at MoBay and my Mom for BOAC before it became British Airways. Remember you had stairs instead of current jetbridges and when you arrived from a cold country, that blast of hot sea air as you exited the aircraft was like Jamaica hugged you and said welcome home. The waving gallery was right up top overlooking the exit and many a tear was shed as passengers and family could see each other clearly as they walked out.
I kind of walked into the jet age as in my time the prop planes faded out and Boeing & DC for awhile was the king.
Also remember they used to put a huge round disc with my 'life story' around my neck, like a baggage tag. Even remember one occasion my Dad used his power with the tower to halt a airplane on the runway, so they could drive me out, and literally throw me up into it, so I would not miss my flight. This was long before security took 3 hours and all the mess flying is today.
keep the videos coming!
@@GaryTallawahWoode Thanks again Gary you definitely gave me an area to do some research and to truly appreciate where we are coming from with our aviation, thanks again for your input much appreciated, have a blessed one
Atc tell him expedite di backtrack and him a Linga. Suh you get a (MOVE NOW) 😂
Give him a little push, they went hard on the power, bless up
They need to take better care of the airport grounds though. Its looking real shabby it wasn't like that when the Jamaican government had the airport. This is what happened when divestment enters the pictures they finds ways to cut cost to maximize their profits. Shameful 😮😮😮😮
This video was a while back better now, thanks for watching do have a great one
What date did you record this?
August 26th, have a blessed one and thanks for watching and commenting
so instead of coming in from Lucea it's is the opposite end now
Only when the wind changes directions we normally have a more north easterly wind but occasionally the wind changes directions especially in the hurricane season, the wind was coming from a more westerly direction on this day, bless up
I used to love seeing them coming in from the other direction especially when u on the beach ⛱️ 😢
@@msdale2009 They still come in from the lucea side most days
2:08 its called air stream I think
Thanks, much appreciated
Wing tip vortex
Thanks very much for the information and for watching and commenting
What’s that coming out of the left wing 2:09
It's called a wing vortex , not out the wing but off the wing, bless up
Why they dnt extend the taxi way to the end instead of back tracking runway 25??.. 2:41
I think that will happen in the future , I don't think they will leave all that area to the south of the extension unused, you can see from my expansion video there's an exit point coming off the turn area, thanks for watching
You have to ask yourself - What is wrong with these AA pilots? What would be his excuse if a crash had occured ? He was given ample time to do checks and secure the aircraft for takeoff, he could even turn left onto R25 and intiate take off ! Why them? It would not be Southwest, they would be gone once clearance has been granted!! Its not the first I have seen them do this on your videos, they have done this time & time again! What they want the ATC to loose their jobs? A pity the ATC wasn't harsher on him! Shame on them, I pray they don't cause a catastrophe .
Blessings Norman, you never what could be the reason for the delay so I prefer to give the pilot the benefit of the doubt if any,if he had delayed longer the tower would have cancelled the approach and requested a go around from the approaching aircraft with time to spare, sounds exciting though but well within the safety net in my opinion, have a blessed one my brother and thanks for watching and commenting much appreciated
Good video Stewy making great use of runway extension keep it up.
Thanks Asher much appreciated
