    Notice the approaches are from the East and take offs to the west. Is it due to weather and wind conditions or due to the extra runway length added? Not used to this approach in all the many times I have landed and taken off from Sangster's International. If so going to miss my days of coming over my part of Jamaica in the West seeing Lucea and the coastline of Hanover. Also airplane spotting out by Dead End.
    Loving these videos and have always been fascinated with airplanes from the days as a youngster when I spent hours at the now gone waving gallery, while one of my parents wrapped up a shift at work in the airport. As I started flying early in life to places like Toronto and New York City, even made trips on DC series propellor planes and Boeing 707..

    • @1STEWY
      @1STEWY  Před 10 měsíci +1

      It was just the wind direction for that day, the lucea side runway 07 is the more commonly used approach , you do have some history of the airport, the DC series propeller planes, I wonder how many gates existed at that time and the runway length,let me know if you can, where did those DC airplanes fly to and what was the flight time, it would be great to get some info from someone who was actually there,in my next video you will see the approach from the lucea end,it was a pleasure hearing from you Gary,hear is my email address divestew@yahoo.com , I have so many questions for you thanks in advance, have a blessed one

      @GaryTallawahWoode Před 10 měsíci +2

      @@1STEWY most of my flying then was to visit relatives in Toronto and NYC area as a very young person. Believe they made a stop somewhere along the way but a bit fuzzy. Just know it was a bumpy ride. Those days my Dad worked as a Customs Officer at MoBay and my Mom for BOAC before it became British Airways. Remember you had stairs instead of current jetbridges and when you arrived from a cold country, that blast of hot sea air as you exited the aircraft was like Jamaica hugged you and said welcome home. The waving gallery was right up top overlooking the exit and many a tear was shed as passengers and family could see each other clearly as they walked out.
      I kind of walked into the jet age as in my time the prop planes faded out and Boeing & DC for awhile was the king.
      Also remember they used to put a huge round disc with my 'life story' around my neck, like a baggage tag. Even remember one occasion my Dad used his power with the tower to halt a airplane on the runway, so they could drive me out, and literally throw me up into it, so I would not miss my flight. This was long before security took 3 hours and all the mess flying is today.
      keep the videos coming!

    You have to ask yourself - What is wrong with these AA pilots? What would be his excuse if a crash had occured ? He was given ample time to do checks and secure the aircraft for takeoff, he could even turn left onto R25 and intiate take off ! Why them? It would not be Southwest, they would be gone once clearance has been granted!! Its not the first I have seen them do this on your videos, they have done this time & time again! What they want the ATC to loose their jobs? A pity the ATC wasn't harsher on him! Shame on them, I pray they don't cause a catastrophe .

    • @1STEWY
      @1STEWY  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Blessings Norman, you never what could be the reason for the delay so I prefer to give the pilot the benefit of the doubt if any,if he had delayed longer the tower would have cancelled the approach and requested a go around from the approaching aircraft with time to spare, sounds exciting though but well within the safety net in my opinion, have a blessed one my brother and thanks for watching and commenting much appreciated
