Several years ago I was in Jaipur where I heard these amazing musicians singing in the court yard of a hotel. Drawn by the power of their sounds, I asked if I could join them. Joyfully they agreed. This is the beginning of our wonderful musical journey to this day. Our short but spontaneous performance was seen thousands of times in social medias all over the world.
In 2019 I had great opportunity to visit them again after the Tawang Festival. It was time we did some serious work. For five days we sat together in a village called Cheu near Jaiselmer played music all day long. It was fantastic. We got to know each other personally. We became friends for ever.
During one of the days two local officials came to hear us as did many other curious people from the near by villages. They requested my friends to sing a Bhajan especially for them. When they started singing I was mesmerized by it. I asked the meaning of the song. They told me it is a song of offering to their Guru! I humbly asked them if I could sing along for my Guru His Holiness the Dalai Lama. All these songs are recorded live and some totally improvised. I told them that only by the grace of His Holiness the Dalai Lama that we are able to sing this amazing song, a gift from Above! They all agreed! Enjoy! Long live His Holiness the Dalai Lama!
And here is my latest music video to celebrate friendship and joy in the midst of difficult times of coronavirus. The song is about a beautiful place where ever you are. I met Eda Elif Tibet and her friend Cihan Elci several years ago. She is an anthropologist and travelled many places including India and experienced amazing moments there. She even had blessing from His Holiness the Dalai Lama in ladakh, which she told me changed her life. By the way her name is TIBET, what a coincidence or is it to do with her previous life? Whatever, yesterday was a beautiful day and I invited them to visit me and the surrounding where I live. We picnicked and decided spontaneously to do a music video with one of my songs with my amazing music friends in Rajasthan! Here is the result and please share it as wide as possible, because there is so much joy in it!
