As a member of the Hoddesdon Model and Railway Club, I can tell you that the Chairman plays a very significant part in the running of the club. Not only that, but also making outside locations available for us to have model railway exhibitions.

Even how small an exhibition is, there is always something to take in.
I was very impressed with how the greenery was done on the layout, where they did the bridge clearing.
The 1976 layout was also very impressive, in that sense, and everyone will know this, who was modeling in the 70's, the amount and quality of scenery stuff you could buy at that time, was very poor or not wide spread.
As far as I could remember static grass for instance, wasn't available, instead you had these bags with very fine wood grains colored, that rather looked like sand paper on the layout, if you look at it now.
And I think in the last interview with the chairman and owner of North Western Railways, he made some head on points, railway modeling is constantly changing and in so many ways improving, but also at a cost, definitely if you buy everything of the shelf and you have to be willing to adapt.
Since 3D printing and 2D laser cutting is becoming affordable, I predict we'll be seeing an enormous growth and changes there, in small homegrown enterprises that produce these items, that aren't worthwhile for the big companies.
On the other hand, white metal producers are disappearing, although there are still some very good ones like AC Stadden figures, not well know but but great quality and not expensive.
Some of the first digital producers, like Modelu, has grown to a well set name now, and lets face it, who would have thought before 2010 that they could scan you ,and produce a little you in scale OO.
For almost 2 years now I have my own 3D printer and I can say that about 40% on my build now is home produced.
If we take in consideration, all that's used in the layout I'm building now, for 80% was made by 3D printing and 2d laser cutting, and about 90% is actually UK or EU build.
Left are only the rails and rolling stock that where made outside Europe.
So I think we are not doing so bad

Hi there Rick, :). Nice start with a Layout!!! Interesting chat + great how he got into Trains. Now good stuff for sale lol!!! You got a Bus and a House :) Wow I sure do like the next Layout :). Lot of cars and you have changed Seasons lol... :). Great video mate. O just to let you know I went to a Record Store and did a video there. And you are saying ok ..... But Rick you just might like this one. It is the largest Store in the US possibly the World with over 3,000,000 Albums LOL that is right!!! And yes, just for you I do show the Rolling Stones too :). I now have moved from Winchmore Hill, first to Hoddesdon itself and then to Broxbourne. I’m still a member of the Hoddesdon Model and Railway Club.
As one who is supposed to have an encyclcopedic knowledge of cars, I can tell you what classic cars are without any hesitation. The cars I noticed on the viaduct layout were an original Mini, a Bedford CA van and an Austin-Healey 3000 Mk3.

The first layout shown was running a Class 47 or 57 with four carriages, very similar to one of the Epping Ongar Railway trains.
Can't fault a 47 they are one of my favourite locos.

When I first joined my club, I was living in Winchmore Hill and looking for a club that met on Wednesday nights instead of Thursday nights.
Pauline and Rick, Bruce in Minnesota USA a question for you do you prefer OO OR HO as far as size?
My opinion there is more OO than HO there in Europe. I'm curious if you guys have a preference?
Hi Bruce, UK models are OO, we do have HO here but it is mainly continental and US models. The UK scene is all OO. All the best Rick
