Hi we are Rick and Pauline. Well Chuffed Railways is our quirky little CZcams channel which is all about our days out and about visiting model railway exhibitions, heritage railways, toy fairs and lots of other lovely things. We will also be taking a closer look at my own model railway layout and reviewing the goodies we buy on our adventures. Lots of other features to come including abandoned railway locations and more. Oh and we will taking our Dog Bobby on some trips (our cat Lola will be staying home). Cheers and thanks for watching. **Please note that most comments you leave will be answered after 18:00 when we get home from work** 🙂

Nice to see a real video about real items, what is the most accurate class 50 and as I grew up in Croydon what is the most accurate epb I have no layout just a static shelf
Hi there Rick. Well I am finally watching videos :). I have been on Holiday. So much good stuff in this one!!! So many great Layouts too wow nice:)!!!! So did you get that Locomotive at the beginning :). Great video mate and have a great day too cheers mate!!!!!
Ok lol the last clip you did get it well done you :)!!!!!!!!!
SCREEMING kids
Yeah just for the first minute from what I remember lol. All the best Rick
It is based out painting also which coat did Winston Churchill coffee riding?😊
My dad serviced the Swordfish that hit the Bismark's rudder - the Tirpitz was destroyed by Lancasters with massive 10,000lb bombs in 1944. Wow, I think I saw a Corgi VW Corrado in dragon green which means its a Storm edition like my real black one only not as rare (mine is the only black Storm spec Corrado ever from VW, apperently). Thats a rare thing... I would pay mucho dinero for one of those... Choppers! Hah - I had a red Grifter, better bike because it didnt geld you if you stopped quickly. I could spend a happy day digging through those boxes for Crimson and Cream rakes, vans and coal wagons. A proper model shop, that....
Wow your dad must have had some stories to tell! Loved the Corrado and remember the road tests when it came out pitching it against the 944. The only criticism the testers made was the styling, well they got that wrong and I always loved it's squatness , kind of like a Alfa SZ in some ways. Anyway they are great cars. Give the seller a bell and get him to send you the green one. Thanks for watching Rick PS I had a Grifter.
Excellent place. Must make a visit 👍
Definitely worth doing!
Great video, guys. Nice to meet you at crewe stadium Saturday.
And you, great event! All the best Rick
Hi Guys, what a great model shop. There,s some really good bargains there. Really enjoyed the video. All the best guys. Carl.
Thanks Carl
Musashi was the Yamato's sister ship.
Cheers Andrew
Its a wonder you did not hold hands in case you got lost in what is a supurb massive shop very nice thank you both of you from Pete.
Thanks very much Pete
That bachmann james without the face looked to be an absolute bargain,£14.50 is astonishing for a price, since buying one new will set you back exactly £100, and looks to just need small details, front wheels and a face
I'm no expert on Bachmann Thomas but it does sound like a bargain. Thanks for watching Rick
great video guys looks like a fab model shop do like these vids will have to try and visit lots of well priced stock
Thanks for watching, deffo worth a visit
I would love to support my local model shop Few problems From my point of view whenever I find a local model shop in a town somewhere they’re always charging top price nearly always full list price and their pricing themselves out of the market in some cases I don’t always agree with the Internet is better but I’m not gonna pay more if I do not have to I would’ve thought from a local independent model shops point of view it would make more sense to get more throughput more sales at a tiny bit little less profit margin keep the shop running. Keep people coming through keep selling and sit there with stock on the shelves at full price and hope once in a while someone with a very deep wallet comes in this is my experience with local model shops around Lincolnshire where I live and when I’m holidaying? I have also seen the same problems in shops in York and Scarborough but great video I wish I had a shop like this local to me
Hi Rob, the problem for the smaller shops is that they don't have the buying power of the larger more well known retailers so they end up paying more to buy stock. Glad you enjoyed the video, cheers Rick
Could we start to see what you have brought at the end of these style of videos ?
we bought the Liam wagon with 3 beer barrels on and a Hornby LWB, we did intend to show them being purchased but as you can tell the sound at the end of the video was very poor so i opted not to use it. Cheers Rick
Absolutely brilliant again, what you buy eh what you buy. All the best.
Cheers Gary, all will be revealed in the next vlog.
👍👍😎
Super shop, thanks for the tour.
Thanks Andy
Hi Rick & Pauline, thank you for the video, what a shop that is, great video and narration from yourselves, very informative, cheers , Pete.👍
Thanks very much Pete.
What a cracking shop. I will have to have a trip there. It's a shame there aren't more shops like these, my local one Transport Models shut down just before COVID. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
Hi thanks for your comment, the fact that so many shops are closing is one of the reasons we are doing this series of videos. The smaller shops get so little publicity compared to the bigger stores and they have so much to offer. Thanks for watching Rick
Another brilliant episode it a great series. They do pack a lot in there. You have a great knack for interviews, too... ask a question and let the keeper answer uninterrupted. Nicely done!
Thanks Anthony, we do enjoy these videos. I get what you are saying about the interviews, it's far more interesting to let people tell their own story. All the best Rick
Entertaining and informative as ever, what I’ll do with the info I haven’t a clue! Keep up the good work of highlighting the independent shops.
Thanks very much Martin, I'm sure you will find a use for the info. 😀
Afternoon to you both, Well im back off my Holidays to Tunisia and having a catch up with your amazing videos. Keep them coming guys. Take care. Ken
Thanks very much Ken, we will keep them coming. All the best Rick
Great Eastern is one my local model shops, which I go to monthly to see what they have.
And a very nice shop it is too. Cheers Rick
Wow, that's a supermarket 🤣🤣
A veritable ALDI!
29:50 Rick says "our friend Danny loves novelty wagons", Yeah Right🥸🤣, people believe me rick's humor is very ironic here, as I hate them. And it's not the wagons on them selfs, or people buying them, everyone's free to buy and like what he or she wants, I got all respect for that. It's the way they are sold, obviously fathers day or Beatle fan wagons, you know it when you see them. But there are wagons and Dapol is king in that, that have company names on them that could have existed for real, but didn't. And here is my issue with them, personally for my collection it must have existed for real, or I see them as a waist of my money. And often it becomes very confusing, if the producer would only mention on the box novelty or a sign to identify it as such, I got no issue with them at all. But one thing that is good about it, each time Rick sees a novelty wagon, he thinks of me.🤣🤣🤣 Great video and a big credit to Rick & Pauline to make them… Cheers, Danny
I knew you would appreciate that Danny, in fact we may go so far to call wagons with fake company names Danny specials from now on. 😂😂 Thanks as always Rick and Pauline
That pink panther was pink because in the desert it was difficult to see from the air.
@@wellchuffedrailways I'm honored🤣🤣🤣
Looks like a modellers ‘Gold Mine’. What did you buy?
2 wagons, the Lima Watneys and a Hornby LWB open wagon. All the best Rick
Rick you are so lucky up there to have some great model shops with old values. It’s good to know he’s doing well without online sales it’s refreshing to be honest mate 😊 All the best to you ,Pauline ,and the two little rascals Mark 😊😊
Hi Mark, we do have a few up here but we have also lost a few. Thanks for watching and all the best Rick
Well that’s pretty impressive
Cheers Nick
What an amazing shop, thanks for sharing 👍
You're welcome Deano
What a brilliant shop, it has everything. Sadly, shops like this in my area have all shut with the passing of their owners, and the younger age doesn't seem to want to delve into this market.
Hi Malcolm, unfortunately there is less of everything these days. All the best Rick
To anybody who will be there, have a great day. It sounds good.
Cheers Ed
Great to see Paul Lunn explaining the design clinics at WD Models. These are exceptionally useful to those planning new layouts.
Certainly, Paul's knowledge is priceless.
You still need a flying Scotsmen this one looked a bargain 😂😂😂😂😂
Probably is when you consider the quality and the fact it will most likely appreciate in value. However it's not blue. 😂😂😂
@@wellchuffedrailways it looked like one of the hornby metal bodies Dublo ones
Excellent footage always find your videos interesting 😊
Thanks very much Steve.
This is one of your best videos, what a good show too. Some fantastic layouts at that exhibition, really high quality modeling.
Thanks very much
I love the Czech depot layout
That lima Mercedes Covered Gondola wagon was a German wagon. It was in the 1985-1989 packaging.
Thanks Raymond
Excellent programme.Brilliant filming.Great detailed layouts and different. Some people are very talented and clever.😊
Thanks Michael
One wagon but any sweet treats from the home of the tart 😂yummy😊
Unfortunately not, just the wagon which was very plasticky.
Grand video done by you both once again, on the Syston Society layout did we see a yellow rubber duck under the viaduct, some great layouts, Thank you for showing us round again. All the best.
Hi Gary, yes a number of rubber ducks had been placed on the layout for the children! Thanks for watching Rick
As someone looking at starting a layout for the first time it was fantastic display of layouts and the little details that come with the show layouts. The figure diving into the sea and the detail of the slate mine were a joy. It was good to see footage of traders and the prices and stock they carried. It was a good balance of both. Really enjoyed, thanks to the both of you.
Thanks very much Andrew
great video some nice layouts
Cheers Geoffrey
👍👍😎
The ho scale depot layout was incredible. Very cool jacket Rick and a nice Mercedes wagon 👍
Cheers Deano
The true maximum speed of a Class 101 diesel multiple unit is officially 40 miles per hour.
Personally, I prefer the dear old Spam Can Bulleid. But there again, they’re not as available as they used to be!!
The shouting porter is probably the Station Master rather than a porter!! It’s very similar at the Epping Ongar Railway!!
For me, it’s got to be a steam locomotive from the Southern Railway. I mean the type that run during the Second World War. My layout is a heritage version of a Dad’s Army’ layout.
Sounds like you have a great layout.
Nice Swiss layout. Pity the European trains aren’t done in 00!!
It’s great to see how intricate some of the exhibition layouts are. It’s interesting to see how the landscape dictates which locomotives are used.
Very true
