In the 70s, scientists observed that cells only grow for a limited amount of days in the laboratory (Hayflick limit). Over the years, so-called hallmarks of aging have been uncovered. These hallmarks of aging govern how our cells age and we could try to slow dem down to "reverse aging".
The first hallmark of aging is mutation. We can acquire mutations by being exposed to UV radiation or certain chemicals or through cell division. Cell divsion also leads to a second hallmark of aging (telomere attrition). Furthermore, our mitochondria start to work less as quality checks do not work properly anymore.
The hallmarks of aging are tightly linked to epigenetics. Epigenetics means that we have mechanisms (DNA methylation, histone modifications) which regulate the activity of genes. Epigenetics governs the development of embryonic stem cells into cells of our body but also impact aging. The loss of mitochondria for example is linked to dysfunctional epigenetic layers. As we age, at least three epigenetic modifications namely H4K16 acetylation, H3K4 trimethylation, or H4K20 trimethylation acumulate. The thing is that epigenetics is reversible... so can we also reverse aging?
Diets have been shown to slow down (and reverse aging to a small degree). Cells also show less damages in their DNA and we find higher levels of proteins which are found in "young cells”. The activity of mitochondria is also increased if we undergo caloric restriction. Diets also impact the production of sirtuins which increase the lifespan and reverse aging. Different compounts (such as NMN and remodelin) have been shown to improve the epigenetic landscape which might have an effect on reversing aging. Exercise also might help to reverse aging as it helps to increase the activity of mitochondria. Meditation and having less stress also helps to increase the lengths of telomeres which might help to reverse aging. All in all studies suggests that some hallmarks of aging can be reversed so lets see where that goes!

My mother always looked around 20 years younger than her age. For example when she turned 60 she looked 40 and turning 80 she only looked 60 etc. However as soon as she turned "90" and only a month after her birthday, she aged 25 years in 6 months. It was unbelievable. And at 92 she looked 100. It was psychological. She said "I'm now 90 and about to die". That single thought in my opinion aged her massively.

I’ve reversed the effects of aging in myself. I eat closer to source and avoid processed foods foreign to my body. I avoid substance abuse as well since it isn’t a fundamental part of being a human being either. I also believe the mind plays a crucial role in the reversing of aging and don’t acknowledge the stereotypes that society has bestowed upon itself and continues to infect itself with. For example if someone my “age” complains and says I can’t do that anymore I’m too old. I might tell them that’s their problem if they want to believe that because I don’t. I disassociate myself with old minded people as well because I’m not going to have that “I can’t” mentality projected onto me. In other words if you’re “older” you’re probably going to preserve your youth better hanging out with younger more able minded people that aren’t treating you like you’re old.

We're on the same page. The only difference is I don't drink coffee, tea (including green tea), and alcohol and I feel good for my age as a 25 year old. I'm also shocked that someone who is 10 years younger than me is getting older than me. People keep asking my age a lot because they keep forgetting that I'm 25 years old. It's an experience that no one has been through before.
I start to hang out with younger people as young as 6 years old. Kids would tell me that I fit being a child. Kinda strange.
When I was about to turn 20, I lost my college friends because I'm getting younger than they are. I end up hanging out with younger generations in college. I'm not forcing myself to hang out with younger people it just kind of happen out of nowhere. I never graduated in college I dropped out because I'm too young to be in college.
Look, my height is 5'7 and I never shrunk to a kid's height I got a little taller though. There are parts of my body I was able to reverse its age a bit, I only claim this.

You went right into “the only difference is” and mention substance abuse/use, which I mentioned so idk how well you really read what I said but I really don’t care either way. Also, when I mentioned hanging out with younger people I was referring to young adults not 6 year olds. Personally my goals are about having a youthful spirit not such a childlike mind it’s the only demographic that understands me. That imo sounds like a step too far in the wrong direction.

None of these videos really encompass everything I believe in. I’ve watched and read many things over the years and developed my own “program” based on trial and seeing how it makes me feel and perform. The anti fat campaign that started in the late 70’s and 80’s caused so much confusion to consumers and food producers just started stripping fat out of everything and adding sugar to make things taste better. Which I definitely don’t believe in. You can’t trust industry with “healthy” food when their objective is to really get you to buy more. The brain is made of fat and many say it’s the best food for it and I really don’t know why it wouldn’t be.

I feel great and really enjoy daily life. Importantly, fitness has allowed me to recover very fast from prostate removal, radiotherapy and open heart surgery (mitral valve repair) in the last 4 years. The power of the mind is phenomenal, when it comes to aging. Example: Friends of mine had a dog. Absolutely bonkers. Ran around like a puppy till it died. It died at 20 years old. The thing was, no one mentioned to the dog it was old. No one explained to the dog it wasn't a good idea to chase seagulls down a very steep cliff at the beach. It fell and hurt itself and within two weeks died. If the 7 years to one human year is a rough calculation, the dog was circa 140 years old when it had this unfortunate incident. But no one had influenced the dog as to how it should feel, so it just kept going. As intelligent dogs go it was right down at the bottom of the IQ stratum, but its energy and utter joy of life was off the charts. This dog is my guru. I follow no other.

If you are practiced at fasting, it doesn't "feel" like starving. In fact, you have a better idea about how your body is functioning based on your feelings. You know that hunger pains aren't really a problem. It's like getting sleepy in the afternoons, you expect hunger but have ways to push through (such as drinking water with electrolytes) the hunger pains. I've practiced fasting since I was 12 or 13 years old, and it takes a while to get used to, but once you're used to it, you look forward to that fasted feeling.
I equate fasting to doing endurance cardio activities. Longer you go, better you get at going longer.

People who say they don't want to live forever should still support this because you can always change your mind later but not if you're already dead. I have been saying this... longevity is our choice! If we want to sustain our health, we have to do something about it! This will start by knowing what supplies our body needs. Start by eating a balanced diet, quit vices, exercise regularly and take an NMN supplement. Mine is a 500mg per day, NMN by Vitruvin Nutrition. The goal should be to live longer while staying young and healthy. Sinclair believes that in the foreseeable future, it's possible for humans to live beyond 120 or even 150, without the frailty, diseases and disability we now associate with old age. See your result and tell the same experience.

Yes, I’ve read and heard that healthy saturated fats found in things like Salmon, grass-fed beef, avocados, and higher fat nuts like macadamias can increase your healthy pattern A LDL while decreasing the dangerous pattern B thereby decreasing your risks of cardiovascular disease. It also increases your production of thyroid hormone which can aid in digestion and speed up a slow metabolism. So I completely disagree with eating a low-fat diet. That is as long as you’re not consuming fats from processed seed oils.

I'm 52 and would never give up my fruits b coz the anti-aging benefits they offer me are far too great. I tell everyone Im 40 or if they are older sometimes 50, but Im not chronologically, having retired 25 years already. I didnt do anything athletic until 6-7 years ago eg never ran more than a 1/4 mi in my life and that was in HS once or twice. Most people say im mid-40s or younger but have the body (10% fat, 6 packs etc) and performance of a ripped 30 yo top athlete (I row or run 2 mi, do the hardest calisthetics (eg 15 sec front lever), full splits, etc almost daily). Before I started my reverse aging process a few years ago I really looked my age: weak, slouched over old guy with bad knee and shoulders, almost all discs herniated and more (my kids say I was a decrepit old guy fading fast). Now those who havent seen me since, see me now and many are shocked - many are speechless and demand proof Im not my son. I tell them its simple - by doing the right things you already know: eat what you need, eat better, get fit. But it isnt easy.
On diet avoid anything inflammatory - I cut out all oil and man made sugars, minimal meat, no dairy, no bakery, nothing fried, burnt or highly processed, no chemicals, no alcohol, etc. Btw: eg according to Consumer Reports most wheat grown in the US have very high levels of Round-Up, a proven carcinogen, and most rice have shockingly high levels of arsenic, also not good for you. These are not required to be reported so they are not. Add in that you need lots of fiber and you are down to eating veggies and fruit, maybe fish and have to avoid most of the typical supermarket aisles, not to mention buffets and even the usual cookouts.
On fit - exercise is really the best medicine. Even if lifespan can be prolonged, who wants to be an old aged prune? But to really reverse you need to do much much more than merely being fit, and theres no secret here: you have to workout all the time (5 to6 2-3 hours per week rain or shine), as hard as you can and as much as you can without injury. Fit means (google "fit") at least balance, mobility, cardiovascular endurance, strength and flexibility. All aspects have to be worked on, because if you dont use it you'll lose it and if you do the same things you'll get the same results. Its not what popular culture (ie movies) and most gyms portray - bulking up beach muscles to impress the girls, but really being fit.
Sadly, 99.99% of all the ones that I talked to who say they are interested in longevity and reversing aging, with living proof in front of them, and they know me, upon hearing what they have to do ie the above, balk, make excuses and simply dont have the willpower to eat right and regularly exercise hard. What they want is a magic pill and that doesnt exist and likely never will. Most say they have better things they want to do or that who knows they can drop dead tomorrow so should enjoy life while they can. My opinion is that life is about maximizing your options and you dont know until you try. Dont bother waiting for the magic pill. While you can start anytime, it does gets harder the older pass your prime you start. Im pretty sure it wouldnt take me 2 years to get a full front split if I was younger.

It's the ideology. If people in general don't have an immortalist ideology then trying to seriously reverse human aging will not happen (to put it another way progress will be snail slow). A readily available example to this is the Apollo space program with human astronauts on the moon. No matter how good and beneficial such human activity is (on paper at least) if a whole lot of people don't like doing that then it ain't happening. Another example is religions if a lot of people like a particular religion and therefore a particular god(s) then it is happening it becomes popular and mainstream and here to stay.
If society becomes immortalist then a lot of institutions of society will have to change with it.
Education has to change in order to reflect immortalist ideals. Religions will have to be heavily edited and brought at the very least up to 21st century materialistic standards (ie a sentient green blob alien from the sombrero galaxy could be eligible to become Pope of Rome or woman as equal to man in the Muslim religion...there is also gender fluidity so a lot of things to discuss in order to make changes and so on). So all this hinges on "if" people in general would like doing and participating in this (unless it is forced and then obviously dystopic).
For human beings "world building" is summed up with creating children as per evolutionary mandate. While some thinking (ie to color a coloring book and you can choose any color) is required in order to accomplish that it's basically the brain on autopilot. Immortality asks more from the brain since it has to imagine an immortalist future (it's pros and cons) in the first place.
It is also kind of a paradox. If both rich and poor the king and beggar becomes immortal all of a sudden then would they still retain their social status? There are of course counter arguments against immortalism/immortality but those usually end up arguing that death (for the human animal) is somehow/someway a good thing. I personally think that the good things outweigh all the bad things so why not just do it?

@@MrGriff305 You may have a good point.
Human beings are not so good at balancing their animal and intellectual natures. In the case with immortalism what needs to be the norm is that our intellectual nature has to have primacy over our primal (primate) nature. For instance you will be able to think (cognize) to yourself to wait to have children until say when you are 200 yrs old instead of just giving into an instinct built around a limited lifespan.
FYI I'm also thinking within limited and conservative terms here.Sure you could just GATTACA the world and create a bunch of Ubermench humans however we still don't have the.. finesse (and possibly into the far flung future as well) in order to not mess things up catastrophically when dealing with DNA and for other similar genetic code based life forms. There are different paths to immortality so this should not be viewed as some set back. Cryonics (a tech work in progress), Mind upload to digital cloud (terra incognita probably requires for us to find out how the "mind" works) and good ol' cyborgs (plus more that I may have missed). I'll take the clunky old fashioned immortality.
Later on (since everyone will still be around)
with the help of technology having lots of progeny won't really matter (unless in extreme cases where you wan't to have say 20+ children). Also Laws would definitely have to come into play and DNA based organic reproduction to be heavily regulated since the same tech will make it easier to have children (ie creating your own soccer team or private army of clones). In a deathist world that we find ourselves in all that do not matter yet because of death itself. The "exit" (one could argue that it's an easy exit) that death offers will be less readily available. However on the upside there will be more of transparency and accountability.

I will say you can not only slow down aging but stop the body and/or cells from aging altogether! Your subconscious is aging your body bc your subconscious is programmed to that and it is also programmed in your cells! So since the mind controls the body then you need to tell mind & body or cells to regenerate back in how young you want your body to be. You want to look 21 then you tell you cells get younger or regenerate back to that time. If you want to look 24, 33 or 18 then you do the same by telling your cells to regenerate at that time of your youth or if you are at that age, say to your cells to stay at the year you are currently! Here is a trick, let’s say, your 44 years young now, go back to the time in your mind when were 21 which was the year 1999, pick a month if you like & pretend you are in that time era and tell your cells to get younger to that time of you being 21 & ask them to always stay that young. Your cells will remember that time & you should feel like a tingling in your body. I believe that is your cells regenerating. Maybe you don’t necessarily need to tell your cells to regenerate or get younger when you are thinking of that time because the cells will remember that time if that is your intention! But you can still ask your cells to feel more clear in your endeavor. Good luck đŸ‘đŸ»

This is a very interesting video. I feel that there are two vital components that have not been mentioned. First, we are all Pavlovian creatures who have been programmed by our particular life experiences, which determine all of our future choices. Often we make the same bad choices over and over again because we operate strictly from what we have learned. The important thing is to break your programming codes in order to make better stress free choices. Second, everyone carries unresolved anger from childhood injustices and we transfer that anger from the past to the present. This pattern must be broken by resolving the past anger with where it belongs. In the past. The idea is to become free of old programming codes which keep us from transforming into the present and living a more stress free life. In other words, you have to “own” this information in order to employ it. Does this make any sense?

I drink green tea and eat a lot of tofu and walk twice a day and bounce on my trampoline and have recently started exercising with some resistance bands. Also my stress levels are very low because I don't plan on dying because my plan is to be held over by popular demand. I subscribed and click the bell.

I am 60 - my biological age markers at 40 ish years of age - I look approx 46 - I do exercise daily - I take mineral supplements in preference to vitamins - I ingest and amygdaline to induce autophagy naturally - This has been known since 1950s I have intermittently fasted all my life - have found it necessary now at this stage in my life to reduce my carbohydrates and sugars - I would say I have had a natural keto diet for the last 30 years of my life - whenever I can be in control of my own food -I also bowel wash the help to get rid of toxins- I make sure I get out in nature and I meditate and have spiritual lifestyle - I still model - I do not have gray hair -You are welcome to check out some of the videos on my channels to see how I look - then you can tell me - do I look sound or behave 60?

Are you familiar with a compound called Resveratrol? Its been shown to activate Sirtuin1 and there are some interesting trials regarding longevity in model organisms. Sadly there are no large scale human trials yet and the overall situation regarding high quality studies is more like meeh...

I originally had Resveratrol in my script but decided to leave it out since (similar to your opinion) I also felt that the effects of specific anti-aging compounds in humans are largely unknown. To be fair such trials are extremely expensive as they would have to take years and there is a good chance that you lose many participants over time but it would be so interesting to know if they really a positive effect on lifespan!

Drink, wash, bathe, shampoo, brush teeth with baking soda & with electrolyte water always. All working so far, along with self-hypnosis for any stress, find it ore helpful than repetitive meditation. Thanks so much tho I knew most of this already.

The video is interesting. As a science graduate I have been deeply thinking about any scientific process that would prevent aging since prevention is better than cure. Reversal of age would indeed be a tough process and instead the clock must be frozen in such a way that certain chemical or gene modification when administered by an animal or human at a relatively younger age must totally stop the aging irrespective of the years that run chronologically. That means that a 20 year and an 80 years old individual shall look the same by appearance. This may give rise to some other problems but however no senior must go to senior citizen homes because they can take care of themselves independently like their junior counter parts. This biological advancement would give new lease of life to all and the aging or age related ailments or old and aged appearance would be a thing of past.

I just turned 60 yesterday, and it was the first birthday I did not celebrate, even paused my Facebook so as to not get birthday wishes there. The latest person to guess my age guessed it at 42...😁When I am walking quickly somewhere, or doing jumping jacks at home etc, I chant to myself: 'Every day, in every way, I'm getting younger and younger, every day in every way, I'm getting stronger and stronger"...I think it was Tony Robbins who taught me this! Been doing it for about 10 years, along with many other things to be healthy and vibrant! It's true, 60 is the new 40!!

Especially since we all know that nothing last forever in this whole planet yet alone our universe. I think I'm fine with living even with aging, it's a part of life.

It seems to me my aging process is a little on the slow side, Im 67 years old. Im thinking it might have to do with a clean lifestyle and working with the natural rhythms of the body: I keep pretty active all week, busy doing this and that and excercise, but I stop and rest from all that on the 7th day and allow my body to regenerate, and avoid stress. It seems to be working. I believe you can add 10 years to your lifespan by doing this.

It's probably more important to focus on staying away from the things that accelerate aging like refined sugar (Which is in almost everything) and processed food which should have warning labels. Because the fact is you can't really reverse aging, unless a man is really as old as his arteries in that case maybe you can.
