Dragon Age Flavors: Grey Warden Meat Pies

My favorite video games are the Dragon Age series. The world is expansive, the stories are engrossing, and the character interactions are top notch. I played them all through again last year, and they still hold up, even against today's open world games.
Like many fantasy games, food and drink plays a large part in the storyline. They provide healing, the inns and taverns provide places to meet new characters and kick off new quests, and gathering raw ingredients in the wilds provides a respite from hunting down darkspawn.
This recipe attempts to recreate a food the Grey Wardens, the front line defense against the inevitable demon invasion, might take with them in their packs as they are out on the go. The results are a portable nutritious meal that's I'd be happy to make and eat even sitting on the couch. I hope you give it a try!
