    From my understanding 3 things need to be replaced after the event of deployed airbags
    1) airbags
    2) airbag module (it can be reset)
    2a) seatbelt tensioner if deployed might need to be rewound and reset
    3) crash sensors (some can be reset)

    • @DIYAutoworksNG

      Well said! The crash sensors usually reset themselves on such cars.

      It depends on the manufacturer's recommendation. If the manufacturers recommends reusing and they are not damaged plus no crash sensor codes, you should be good.

    Thanks for the great videos and nice job with your Honda doing things the right way! Do you know with the Autel tools can you clear the SRS modules to new? Or can you get a clean file and upload it with the tool? I would like to avoid having to send in the modules for additional cost. Thanks!

      Thanks a lot for the compliment! Sadly you won't be able to clear crash data with this nor upload a clean file to the SRS module. Dedicated tools are required. I had to send mine off for reset before I fit it back in the car.

    Great video,I got a enormous Question:I got a 2014 Honda pilot accident in the front nothing major just cosmetic and also and the right side fender took it to the body shop and they fixed but now I got the airbag light on and and they say is because I got a accident before (not true got the Carfax)and they refuse to fixed.I know for a fact that there where no lights before I took the car to them,there's no airbags deploy it .they took it to the dealership and they say is going to be 6,000 dollars just to fixed even the seatbelt.what can I do to fix it myself,I work in a machinery shop I can do most of the work .need help thanks.

      Thanks for the compliment.
      On your 2014 Pilot. 2 questions, did any airbags deploy or the seatbelt? Were you wearing the seatbelt during the accident? If you are sure the airbag light wasn't on after the accident before you took it to the body shop and no airbags or seat belts deployed. It will be good to get a scan with a tool that has access to SRS. A scan will tell the state of all the SRS components and reveal why the light is on. Let's hope they didn't deploy an airbag accidentally while fixing the car. A scan first. May also just be a coincidence that something like that there's a short in the driver squib which can happen as cars age or maybe poor connection/an unplugged SRS component. In summary start with a SRS scan.

    I have honda crv 2017, Does the airbag gonna deploy by itself if i didn't fix it well? I know i need to replace left front impact sensor. I'm kind of scared that my whole srs system will go off if anything goes while replacing sensor. Also do i have to code again for new sensor?

    • @DIYAutoworksNG
      @DIYAutoworksNG  Před 2 lety +1

      Considering that in rare circumstances, airbag can deploy randomly, I'd say its possible for a bad fix to deploy an airbag. Defective crash sensors may also contribute to this. If OEM parts are used and due process followed, things should go well, however, it may be best to have a professional handle the repair if you don't have the know-how.

    • @DIYAutoworksNG
      @DIYAutoworksNG  Před 3 měsíci

      Not exactly. The 7th gen had theirs by the sides of the radiator, you could visualise it by looking down the sides of the radiator in the engine bay. Maybe see if they kept that location given the similarities with the engine.

    I replaced my airbags and reset module except impact sensors is it safe to reconnect my battery and start my car I’m afraid that bad sensor can deploy all airbags is that possible?

    • @DIYAutoworksNG
      @DIYAutoworksNG  Před rokem

      Well, not all impact sensors should be replaced after an accident. E.g. Acura/Honda, Audi, Chrysler, Ford, Infinity/Nissan, Lexus, Mazda, and Toyota, say their sensors will reset themselves soon after the accident except if they were damaged. Confirming damage may be another matter. I replaced mine out of an abundance of caution plus not knowing if they were damaged in the accident. Some other manufacturers recommend replacing impact sensors after every accident irrespective of damage.
      Were there any other SRS codes apart from the airbag? Ideally they should be fixed before installing a cleared module. In terms of whether airbags will deploy if you reconnect the battery, I really can't say. A malfunctioning impact sensor can do that especially if the car does not have a safing sensor whose work is to confirm that the signal from the crash sensor is legit.

Replaced the action crash bracket and SRS sensor, but SRS light still on. Got a fancy OBD reader, where I can go specifically to Airbag settings to reset. Code clears, then I turn off car and turn bag on and it gives same error: No signal from right front impact sensor.

    • @DIYAutoworksNG
      @DIYAutoworksNG  Před 8 měsíci

      I haven't, but the safing sensor is a critical sensor in the SRS. It stops the airbag from deploying when you hit things like a curb etc. I'd replace or check the wiring. I think the location is in the rear of the car if I recall.

    • @DIYAutoworksNG

      You won't be able to erase the code. They are hard codes, they will only go when the crash data in the SRS module have been cleared using special tools. I did a video on how to restore your SRS after a collision, might be helpful to watch.

    • @DIYAutoworksNG

      B00A0-54 refers to the passenger SWS. A quick online search shows fhe code may occur without an accident. The SWS needs to be initialized using a scan tool. Code means the passenger airbag may not function correctly in the event of an accident.
