  • Our two Guinea Fowl were not getting along with our chickens. This intensified to a level where we had to make a decision. This decision was extremely hard, but we want our homestead and skills to continue to grow and develop. So we made the tough decision to butcher these two Guineas.
This was the first butchering we did on our homestead. Watch this raw and real footage of a grown man butchering these birds, even though he absolutely did not want to. Our homesteading skills continue to develop and reach new heights. This was a huge day for us, but it was not easy.
    Thanks for watching!

I really enjoyed the honesty of the video. I have one very aggressive Guinea that’s headed towards this fate.

The cat went from what smells so delicious, to I don't want any part of that, and then back to what smells so delicious. 😂

I chased one of our 15 down to tag it with spray paint. He's the firts to go. Being a BIG BULLY to even our roosters.
We've drawn their lifespans out. Time to feed ourselves now...

Clean dispatch of the birds. I will likely do something similar if/when the time comes. Can't imagine its a fun process but how did they taste?

Hopefully you can shed some light for us. We just harvested our first guineas and the livers were not red like a chicken. The girls was yellow and boys were grey ish. Is this normal or is something wrong with our birds? Thanks in advance!

Sorry I do not know much about this subject. All I have heard is yellow indicates a fattier diet and is ok. But Green is considered a bad sign. That is all I really know.

Yea the first time taking a birds life was harder then I thought it would be. I was not raised with this life style. But I'm getting tougher. I better we have 30 meat birds were doing in April.

taking a life, no matter how insignificant you may think it is, isn't easy. you may think nothing of killing a fly, as do i, but it's fine to not be ok with it.
