    Regarding 9:47, you can make links even faster and easier: you can just write a label or display text, select it, and paste the URL over it. Voilà! It will turn into a link.

    Hello Alan. Great video. I have been using Logseq for a few years and yet your video taught me a few new things and reminded me of a few things I had forgotten. Thank you.

    Youve done a great feature review. I'm coming back to Logseq for task management after trying many other approaches. I wasn't familiar with many of the features you cover. I'm now even more pleased to be back with Logseq . The devs have been doing great things.

    I’m fond of the idea of treating Blocks as first-class citizens in Notion. However, Notion feels quite restrictive when it comes to exporting content and integrating plugins. I’m definitely inclined to give this app a shot.

    Nice video . A syncing solution i found is Syncthing which is pretty simple to setup .

      Ios users try Möbius Sync which wraps syncthing

  • @orestlenczyk
    @orestlenczyk Před 5 měsíci +1

    I think you should mention syncthing as a default sync method. It does not use any 3rd party storage, so you are not breaking any corporate policy.

    I just want to add, I've been using icloud sync for the past two weeks and it has no problem keeping the pages synced when working from multiple devices. If it seems like something is missing though when I first boot up the app just refreshing the graph fixes it. I actually lost date while using logseq's sync feature and trying to sync between multiple devices. So from my experience I would say icloud is more stable.

    Thanks. Do you use logseq for long-form notes? If so, how? I keep going back to Obsidian but miss the linking power that is built right into logseq.

    • @ItsAlanYoung
      @ItsAlanYoung  Před 7 měsíci +2

      I typically use Logseq at work for my daily meeting notes - I find that I really value the frictionless data-entry and journal-focused philosophy of Logseq better for that. For long-form notes, I've used Obsidian and Craft and I like them both!

  • @Xrash19

    Do you use Logseq for personal everyday use as well or purely for work? I sit in a similar situation where cloud syncing is not a viable option for my work computer but I have been starting to use Logseq on my personal computer. Do you only use Logseq for work on your work computer and then have a separate instance on your personal devices for non-work?

    • @ItsAlanYoung
      @ItsAlanYoung  Před 8 měsíci +1

      That’s right! I primarily use it at work, but I do have a personal instance that I use for researching birds (a hobby of mine) and CZcams topics.

    The # is not a hashtag, it has many names, but it's not a "tag", but may be called a hash sign/symbol (or pound, number sign etc.). A tag prepended with a hash is called the hashtag.
    So stop calling it a hashtag.

    The most annoying thing about logseq is its plain checkbox is AWFUL. I wish developers fix this :(

    • @ItsAlanYoung
      @ItsAlanYoung  Před 8 měsíci

      While researching macros for this video, I saw someone use a custom command and macro to make better checkboxes - could be an interesting idea to explore!
