This was really interesting to watch. I thought the colours would mix a lot and turn muddy after processing the layers so much and in so many directions. But they stayed really vibrant! I guess you’re using really thick non diluted oil paint?
Hey Nicky, fantastic and fantastical work! Quick question ... do you at any stage let the paint dry before the next one, or it’s as quick as the video?
Hi Nicky, great artwork, but how long does it take for so many layers of oil paint to dry completly, or you add something to speed the drying process? Regards from Brazil. Patrícia
Hey Patricia, thanks very much! I tend to leave my paintings for 3 or 4 weeks before they are dry enough to blacken the edges, but I like to leave them for at least 2 months before varnishing them. Best of luck if you're trying something similar, Nicky
Hey Pat, good idea! I have only overpainted a dried and very textured abstract that I wasn't happy with. The results were crazy. I'll let you know when I upload that painting to my website. I'll try your idea in the meantime
I feel like with this style no 2 are the same... Gerard Richter made a lot of good paintings but a lot of them looked boring and lacking too... I also think no 2 people using this same technique will do it quite the same way, so maybe some people will make them more appealing than others...
Thanks! I am sure you could, I have heard of people using retarder and water with acrylics so they wont dry too fast. It is important to have wet layers underneath which you can scrape in to
Lloyd Guillen and you are what? I cant say i dont like This Guy's work. Do you paint yourself? Have you any idea how many artists use the same technique or materials?

totally agree with seb and mcfart -- think richter comes from mars? "you wanna talk influence man? thats just old information coming through my NEW mind" --Jean Michel Basquiat Carry on Nikky..
Where is this artist now? Love your work!!! The music you use with your art is pure magic !
very interesting. I like your homemade tools. great idea!
There. Don't give up until you find that spark of genius.
another wonderful painting !!!!
it's the coolest way to play around with colors... thanks for sharing :)
Oh my Belphegor Demon, what a talent!
Look at the face at 2:41. I like it but definitely would have stopped at 2:41.
Dude, you had the painting at 2:41 - look closely in the center
You are the REAL artist. :)
I agree but not just then. He had a painting a few more times throughout that was better than the end result.
Merci Gerhard Richter
love this technique!
Great idea!!! It is like playing with colors
This painting might be a bit overworked.
Gee i wonder where he got this idea… ahem Gerhard Richter… it still takes experience to know when to stop and when to destroy…

thanks for sharing this. inspiring.
Good Stuff!!! This is what I like to see!!!!!!! You should let me know how you did your scrapers. Each time I make one it ends up falling apart

Hi Nicky, have you ever tried to aply gesso as an under layer and scrap it just to get more texture in the final painting? Regards, Pat

Dear Nicky,
thanks aplenty for sharing the video! Could you tell how you made those scrapers? Which material did you use?
Best!
What materials did you use for your squeegess? The paintings are coming out great, they look amazing.
very nice work Nicky! what kind of oil paints do use? thank you in advance. ali
nice..well done!
Mencanta..un oleeeeee👏👏👏👏👏
You're Awesome!
seen this technique one too many times. its tiring to see it so overdone. Richter takes the cake.

Really cool bro
nicky es totalmente impersonal lo tuyo, ya sabemos de quien es la tecnica que usas tu, te recomiendo que busques tu propio camino.

Music credits please? Great artwork and liked your squeegee making.

You spent more time trying to save it. You had it.
Nice Video, thanks
Nicky its Thick Oil.Do you have to varnish for protektion..and How long is the drying time. Love your technique so much☺
good music! what is that please?
This is it: They're Going to Take My Thumbs by: Holy fuck music video
nice music!
Richter stole the idea from a German painter. We all stand on each other’s shoulders.
👌💕
Amazing work! Can use this technique with acrylic paint?
Thanks! I am sure you could, I have heard of people using retarder and water with acrylics so they wont dry too fast. It is important to have wet layers underneath which you can scrape in to
Nicky Henderson Thx for the advice! Keep uploading videos!
You could try Golden Opens
acrylic is far less forgiving due to the difference in drying time.
I like your art and you are handsome..
you have overdone it
Did you invent this trechnique, or did you copy it ?
Wow. A lot of you people are clueless when it comes to present day art culture. All credits go to Gerhard Richter.

Fuck yea
Where did you get the wooden handle?
grande Cagata Copiata
Gerhard Richter would be proud
👍!👍!👍~∫ℓ♧
And you still are not finished...
Flailing and destroying the best parts. Should have stopped way sooner.
Super crap
Do the do..poo the poo
plagiarism, Gerhard Richter
Boring to watch all that work to end up with 3 colors, yawn.
Does this require artistic intellect. What he demonstrated is mechanical skill. Pathetic.
