Another beautiful painting Stephen. Thank you for this wonderful art piece. I know this may sound silly but I look at this and am drawn into the blue beyond and wonder what’s behind the gold: you’ve given an anchor in the “dark cord” to hold onto while investigating. It produces great emotion in me and I thank you for showing me that abstract emotion is as powerful as the emotion I get from landscapes.

Hello Stephen,
This is certainly different. The picture reminds me of a huge wave with the blue sky and the sun shining on the wave ..... this is in my opinion is like eternal time as the sun will always shine and the ocean will always have movement like a clock .... so may I suggest a name for your painting. ..... " A moment in time "
I really like your painting of a Sunset escape ...... the shore is like a photograph ..... brilliant.

Thank you my friend...lately i have been using an oil based undercoat. I find the paint sits better on it and tends to be smoother

How long would it take to dry?

Can you paint over a varnished canvas? I have one that has been well dried and then varnished with Gamvar Gloss Varnish that I am not pleased with and would like to reuse the canvas. Will the oil paint stick to it?

I would take off the varnish first with varnish remover...the paint wont stick properly
