There is no such thing as a lukewarm christian. The lukewarm are unsaved. You either Believe the Report of GODs Son or you dont. There is no middle ground. You are preaching an accursed gospel.

We must remind lukewarm Christians and encourage them to go deeper with God and read His word. People who are "spiritual but not religious" who pray and quote the Bible to fit their story, to drop the friends with benefit relationship they have with God.

People like to point out Revelation 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth….but if they would open there eyes and read in context Lukewarm” means “self-righteous.”WICH is what most of these accusers are because they try and limit or deny gods grace to certain people.so they there self are the ones he says he will spit out his mouth.
A “lukewarm Christian” is not somebody who claims to follow Jesus but also does worldly things. It’s somebody who says “I don’t do worldly things, so I’m living in God’s will.”
A “lukewarm Christian” is not somebody who claims to follow Jesus but only shows up on Sundays. It’s somebody who says, “God must be pleased with my devoted church attendance.”
A “lukewarm Christian” is not somebody who doesn’t have a quiver full of children. It’s somebody who says, “I have biblical family values, so I’m more sold out to the Lord than those feminists are.”
Lukewarm Christians are satisfied in themselves. Lukewarm Christians are bproud of their spiritual commitment and pleased with all that they do for the Lord. Lukewarm Christians believe that they are living the right way, with all the right values, and all the right methods, and all the right works.

The phrase lukewarm christian is a manmade phrase
Lukewarm means unbeleiver who claims to be christian but are not christian, so there is no such thing as lukewarm christian
Edit: the legalists made the phrase lukewarm christians to pressure people into trusting themselves for salvation

I hear what you are saying. This video is breaking down the passage in Revelation 3 in which the church of Laodicea was called lukewarm. In context of Revelation 3 lukewarm is used to describe the church, Christians, and not unbelievers.
I choose to title the video lukewarm Christian because that's what most people search for.

Obedience is for service, not salvation!
The Biblical definition of faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.
It's either by grace or by works but not both.
Ephesians 2:8,9,10, Romans 4:5,6,and Romans 11: 6, clearly refute any false gospel message of faith plus works equals salvation nonsense.

I’m trying to understand so it’s a difference between lukewarm Christian and lawlessness
Lukewarm is when your doing good on earth with earthly success and riches and because of it people don’t think they need God because they are rich and don’t have child like faith but lawlessness is when you live how ever you want to live and sin all you want???

I really think you need to reread the entire passage written by John . Prayerfully, ask for revelation because your explanation is not biblical . I will explain why. As you said , context is important. But you say these people were born again believers based on what? They are in a church? Being in a church doesnt mean that person is born again at all. Jesus calls them wretched, poor and naked and blind. Where in the bible are the brethren referred to like that? You won't find those words applied anywhere to the brethren. Words like saints, beloved, brethren, are used in reference to Christians.
This church you refer to is an apostate church without Christ in it. Another clue is Jesus says He is standing at the door, waiting to be asked in. Sinners are wretched, poor, naked, and blind my young friend, but NOT saints of God washed in the blood. They are clothed in the righteousness of Christ ....Hidden in Christ, seated with Him in heavenly places.
This passage is used to warn Christians of lukewarmness but in reality it MOST often taught wrong, just the way you explained. Please read Jeremiah 33:3 prayerfully

He is correct…the scripture is referring to Christians not unsaved…how can you speak to the unsaved when they are not saved to understand being lukewarm? So, he is addressing to the Christians coming to church to pretend to be right with the lord while ihiding true self. Does that make sense? Unsaved doesn’t know anything about life with Jesus so they are living and learning to who Jesus is before they would realize what it is they have to do to be saved.

@@Lafretta_88 The key to understanding this letter are the words Jesus uses. Jesus calls them wretched, poor and naked and blind. They are religious but not born again. If you are born again, you are in the hand of the Father and nobody can snatch you out. John 10...
In Laodicea He stands OUTSIDE the door . Jesus is INSIDE a church that is under His authority...Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel explains this passage perfectly in this link. czcams.com/video/GM0lh1T3gJk/video.html
