    Nebuchadnezzar II did not BUILD the Tower of Babel. His own records affirm that he used the original foundations of the original tower, to build a kind of memorial tower. Nebuchadnezzar wrote that the original tower had been built in antiquity: "A FORMER king built the Temple of the Seven Lights of the Earth, but HE DID NOT COMPLETE its head. SINCE A REMOTE TIME, people had abandoned it, without order expressing their words. Since that time earthquakes and lightning had dispersed its sun-dried clay; the bricks of the casing had split, and the earth of the interior had been scattered in heaps." [emphasis mine]

      @Tejas Misra Skeptics used to criticize the Bible for its mention of the Hittitie people (in Genesis). The lack of any archaeological evidence to support the existence of a Hittite culture was often cited as a rebuttal against Scripture. In 1876, however, archaeologists discovered evidence of the Hittite nation, and by the early 20th century the vastness of the Hittite nation and its influence in the ancient world was common knowledge.
      The Bible also contains fulfilled prophesies. Specific prophecies like Jesus’ birthplace, activities, manner of death, and resurrection demonstrate the preternatural accuracy of Scripture.
      The scientific and historical accuracy of the Bible is important evidence of the Bible’s trustworthiness.

    Isn't this more likely to be the Hanging Gardens? The timeline doesn't match up for the building of the Tower and we know he built the Hanging Gardens, and we know it was a tiered square structure like this from historical accounts. The inscription doesn't say it is the Tower of Babel, it says the ziggurat of the city of Babylon, which could be any temple within the city, and could totally be the Hanging Gardens.

It was all Noah’s descendants as stated in (Genesis 10) and the description of the even taken at Babel in (Genesis 11). So a lot happened before Nabuchanezzar came to power, the slate this guy has, could’ve just been a depiction of how great of a architect the King was, since that was one of the things he was known for. A year late I see, but at any rate; One of the strengths of scripture was the numerous copies across various groups, languages and cultures that actually kept one another in check. If someone popped up with a new bit of scripture, every other group could compare it to their own and point out the counterfeit. Case in point, the dead sea scrolls and Septugant were a branch of the original scriptures recently rediscovered and when compared, found there was very little if any difference. The differences can be contained in about a 20 minute video. Namely some things like a city was remarked as X, but in the time of the story it was actually named Y, but a "helpful" scribe changed the name to something people would understand contemporarily.
      That's how we actually know what the errors or questionable parts of scripture are; Cross referencing copies.

So, I guess when historical evidence is found for a Bible account, it loses its Biblical association and origin and becomes historical and the Bible goes on being merely legend and gets no credit. I tell you Acts 2:17 and Joel 2: 28 are happening now. This is the Word that I got Sat. 3-28-20 and I decided to post it here for you. I'll be posting it on my channel as well. Perhaps you may want to check out my testimony and you could send a link to your non-believing friends. There are links to archeological evidence for the Bible as well as spiritual testimony of miracles and Words the Lord has given me. God bless in the name of Jesus Christ!
      A WORD FROM THE LORD 3-28-20 approx. 10:40 pm
      So-called Christians, stop arguing amongst yourselves about your interpretations and theories of the truth of my Word. Have I not told you and is it not written in my Word that I have told you these things because I call you friend? Those I call friend and have heeded my voice and have sought me for discernment have been given the truth. They are the watchmen and they are doing the work of which I have instructed. Believe in me and seek me for discernment you so-called and self-proclaimed Christians. He who abides in me; I abide in Him. If I do not abide in you, then you do not know the truth. You will be forsaken in your pride and lofty desire to elevate yourself above others. I say unto you; seek my wisdom; close your door and pray in secret to your heavenly father. It is through His spirit that you are given knowledge and discernment. Do not scoff and mock your fellow members in the Body. You are to pray for the lost, love your enemies, and pray for those that persecute you. Have I not called you to lift up one another and give service to one another, especially those of the Household faith? Ye who mock and scoff to one another and do not seek your Heavenly Father will fall under wrath. My prophets know me and I know them. Seek me for knowledge and truth; do not suffer me to bring my wrath upon you. My son's atoning work shall surely save your soul. Be of sound mind for these are the last days and the season and hour is upon you. I proclaim to you, GET YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER! (I sensed the anger of the Lord here), for the time to look up is now, your redemption draweth nigh. Do not be surprised and let this day come upon you as a thief. I am coming to steal away my bride from this wicked world. You will see the reward of the wicked from above. Be ready my dearly beloved for I AM is coming.

      since you may struggle to comprehend what I am saying.
      there were a couple of pyramids (towers) built during that period but the oldest and the one usually being referred to as the "tower of babel" was built around 2650 BCE and "babylon" hadn't existed yet. In fact, nebucadnezzar only came into power some 2000 years after this pyramid was built (1100 years after hammurabi had built babylon)Babylon.
      The mere fact that there is a tablet with the drawing of a pyramid and nebucadnezzar on it still doesn't prove that nebucadnezzar built the pyramid often referred to as the tower of babel. It's literally impossible for a man who lived around 600 bc to have built a tower some 2,000 years prior.
      This "proven" history of the Bible is more of like a satisfaction of your confirmation bias.

    • @andrewsuryali8540
      @andrewsuryali8540 Před 7 lety +4

      The tower of Babel was the central ziggurat of the city of Babel. Since major Mesopotamian cities were almost always built around a ziggurat, by definition the tower must have existed long before Nebuchadnezzar II. Like any ancient structure, the tower would have been built and rebuilt over time. Kings would have expanded or reconstructed the tower either because they needed to repair it or just because they wanted to leave a legacy. Both Nebuchadnezzar I and II authorized modifications to the existing tower, in the case of Nebu II to the extent that he basically rebuilt the tower.
      The point the video is making is that the depiction of the tower in the bible corresponds closely to the one that Nebu II built. This kinda makes sense when you consider that the Hebrew bible was compiled after Cyrus returned the Jews to Jerusalem. At the time of the writing of the compilation, the tower the writers would have known of would have been the Nebuchadnezzar II tower. It must have imprinted itself in their psyche because Nebu II was the one who took them into exile in Babylon.

      Then there's also the possibility that one of them, either the tablet or the holy scriptures themselves, have it wrong. I know every Christian wouldn't even dare consider the possibility of the bible getting it wrong but you've got to remember, the stories in the bible were passed down from the elders through story telling for generations until it was finally written down as official scriptures for the religion. It's entirely possible it got lost in translation via word of mouth over time.

    Not sure why it's a surprise, the ancients built many great things, sure it's probably a little exaggerated but when you have many people and books mention said thing it's probably real. Like how scientists dismisses Troy being real until an amateur dug it up, or how Atlantis was based off how the Minoans collapse.

    • @TheOtherGuys2
      @TheOtherGuys2 Před 2 lety +4

      I don't think Atlantis was based on the Minoan civilization, actually. It doesn't fit the description. Plato describes Atlantis in detail, including its location and the layout of the city. Just the design of the concentric rings of the city with canals between them rules out the Minoans. They were crazy advanced for their time, but not Atlantis.
      However, long before even the Minoans, there's a better match for the city of Atlantis. 12'000 BC, in West Africa, what's now Mauritania, there's a place called the Richat Structure, a volcanic dome in an ancient sea bed. At that time, parts of West Africa were under the water of the Atlantic Ocean, and also the Nile River ran a different course, across the Sahara. Fed by the Atlas Mountains in Northwest Africa, the river flowed across the whole Sahara, giving it a climate similar to that of the Savannah. Cave art from that period and place show giraffes, lions, and many other animals that no longer live where it's now all desert.
      The Richat Structure itself is a volcanic dome which rises and falls, depending on the pressure beneath it. It does in fact form a shape of concentric rings, and if the water level was right, it could have canals through circular sections of land, with a large island in the center. And yes, it's more than large enough to have a city on it. (30km across, it's visible from space)
      Aside from being the right shape, it has a cliff to the North, like Atlantis. It has above that cliff, what could once have been a vast area for farmland. It's South of the Atlas Mountains. If the African continent were a bit lower and the water could get in there, as it was that long ago, the easiest ways to and from it would be to pass through the gates of Atlas (The Strait of Gibraltar) and along the Nile River.
      You may have noted repeated references to Atlas. Atlas being the Titan who functions as the foundation of the Earth, and also the King of Mauritania. Where the City of Atlas would be. Like a city of Minos would be Minoan, a city of Atlas would be Atlan. Atlantis. The Foundation of Civilization.
      And of course, the fall of Atlantis. An earthquake as the volcanic dome the city is built on ruptures, and the pressure beneath is released. The dome collapses, falls below the sea level, and between the volcano and the collapse of the dome, the city is destroyed in a great earthquake and flood.
      If you want to see it for yourself, go to Google Maps, Satellite view, and enter coordinates 21.127, -11.389 You'll have to zoom out a bit to see it, I expect.
