I never got around to loading or driving the wagon & drag type truck... I had the old style 9 car capacity, 3 deck artic with the overhanging peak over the cab... easier to load, but more difficult to drive, and manoeuvre through the narrow & congested streets of Central London
How do you determine wether a car should go on forwards or backwards. Also it doesn’t look like there is a lot of room to get out and walk around the car once on the trailer
Did you ever played Tetris ? :) So it's similar. And yes, there is no much space to walk around car, but there is 5 ladders fitted all around so I'm using them, just go down and go up on other side of the car.

Damn trees... at least bridges have marked height, but with trees you're really just guessing whether you can pass under safely! I badly scratched the roofs of 4 brand new VW Golfs when I was a newbie transporter driver!
What a job that is, must be some training involved in that , god help you in the rain and cold , then you have to go and drive the dam thing and unload it all. hope you get job satisfaction from it

Charles Wills Charles on Trent is a good uk company and they do salvage cars so damages don’t matter as much watch Kev tee he is a driver for them who makes good video’s

Hi, Why are theese car-transporters equipped with a tree axle truck and a tree axle trailer? It can't be bacause of weight of load. Even if this was 10 heavy cars of 2500 kg each, the totals add up to 25 tons net. And the rig max 15 tons equals max 40 tons gross. Is it stability issues? or other regulations in UK? An extra axle eats a lot of usable space. IMHO.

Whats the maximum height of the load in the UK? I work on a car transporter in Holland and here it is 4.10 meters and this is clearly higher.
In UK is 4.88 and in Ireland 4.65

No legal height limit in the (UK) but most transporter companies run at 16ft maximum.

over 15ft!? damn! I'm usually around 14.7ft and I smack the top cars in the trees at least once a month
