Umi-Shibaura Station, Yokohama, Japan - Hidden station in metropolitan area

Umi-Shibaura Station is the last stop on the JR Tsurumi Line's Umi-Shibaura Branch Line, approximately 10 minutes from JR Tsurumi Station. The station is located on the premises of Toshiba's Keihin Works. Since the exit of the station also serves as the gate of the business office as it is, no one is allowed to go out of the station unless they are related to the business office. The timetable diagram is also designed for the convenience of Toshiba personnel. Nevertheless, the station has become a tourist attraction for the general public due to its rarity and beautiful scenery. When you get off the station, you will see the ocean in full view in front of you. The platform is also very narrow, giving the impression that the station is floating on the sea. If you have ever seen the Studio Ghibli movie "Spirited Away," you will immediately associate the station with the station on the sea that appears in the movie. The evening view around sunset is very beautiful, and the Tsurumi Tsubasa Bridge and the industrial area around it are reflected in the evening sky. It was truly a pleasure to visit.
