C++ as an Optimizing Assembler - a Performance Talk - Levo DeLellis - CppNorth 2023
Are you tired of abstractions, templates and complex classes that keep the type system happy?
In this talk we'll be going the opposite direction. We'll look at low level code, intrinsics, system calls and we will check if our generated assembly is what we want. This talk comes from our experience of writing a highly performant app using no standard library (compiled with -nostdlib). Assembly will be involved but no knowledge is required.
