Good times, looking like a blast. One day I will be down there, driving the Baja. Drive smart, drive OFFROAD. Question for you, what radio comma are you using, CB radios same as the trucking industry? Two way VHF comma radios? What channel I need to program?
We use VHF 50 watt radios. We can get pretty stretched out sometimes and we need the wider coverage. CB's are good when you're close together.
jps1145 cool what frequencies do you all use down there? I use vhf for work, so I have one in my Raptor, as well as a CB the truckers use

Seems like this Business limits itself to real potential by excluding other vehicles except Raptors. There is a much larger population out there with more capable vehicles that would definitely by in on trips like this.

elsieteenel303 first I have been traveling through BAJA and Mexico proper since the early 70s and yes there are tons of problems down there and people willing to “F” you up,,,,,if you are looking for it.
Here is the thing, if you look like a victim, act like you think you’re too cool and special or like you have too much $, you are sure to have problems.
So how to not have issues? =to travel anywhere in Mexico go with others. In groups you are safe or if in a single rig don’t look too new, special or rich.
So you only have new and flashy stuff,,,,then just be careful,,,,,zero night travel in town (everyone already knows you never drive out of town paved roads, no matter what!) during the day stay on the main roads as much as possible. When someone tells you not to go somewhere, DON’T GO THERE!
Keep you eyes open at all times. Remember your American auto insurance is void as soon as you cross the border so be sure to buy the worthless mex insurance and just know this, without out it and you get in an accident you are in jail for sure. Plus note, the Mex insurance only allows your rig to be repaired in Mexico.
Shitzen,,,I could go on and on and on. Just know this I feel safer down in BAJA than in most big US towns but then I know how to act, how to look and where to go.
As for the off roading, the beaches, fishing, atmosphere, food, locals, weather,,,,,,it’s the most fun anyone could ever have with your cloths on.
@@2003evodave yes you are right in some stuff but let me also tell you that I know people that are not afraid to go anywhere in Mexico (except dangerous areas) and not problems at all, I also know people that the first time they go and some s#&*t happened, in my experience not problems so far anywhere I go, about the insurance, couple of years ago there was a change that now you have to buy it in Mexico, but before that you were able to buy it here and you could fix your car here, in fact if you car was stolen they covered it here too

Where would you mount the CB on the raptor? Been wanting one for mine but don't know where to mount it.
Under the seat with a faceplate above or mounted to the passenger side of the middle console.
Mount it under the hood. And mount the mic in your bathroom next to your toilet paper roll
