Before Tom Cruise we had Clint
Tom, who….?
No comparison...Clint is the Man!!
Did you really just say that?
My Dad and I went to see this when I was younger. Great memories and great movie! Love anything Clint is in.
same here
Watched it in Blackpool went to the circus held a a python and sat on a croc or gator I was about 10 lol kfc was a no go lol x
I really like the practical effects of this movie. The SXF were not great back then, but man, those models and props! Great work.
Saw this flick on TV in the late 80s as a kid. To me, the Firefox was the most awesome, most intimidating fighting aircraft ever. The shots where it raises parallel curtains of water in its wake was the coolest thing ever.
The bird was very well designed, more than 40 years after the movie's release, it still looks as threatening as it did back then. 👍👏
Years a head of its time this movie.Stealth, look and fire helmet, smart missile fire and forget. Thanks for sharing👍
It was actually "Think & fire"
One of the best movies with jets. I loved.
Brilliant film!!!
It's uncanny how the angular lines of the Firefox predicted what real stealth would look like. Even more when you consider the timeline. This came out in 1983, and the F-117 first flew in '83 but wasn't revealed to the public until '88. I wonder if the filmmakers tried to research stealth and found the original *Soviet* paper showing that angular facets reduce radar signature. I further wonder if there was any panic in the Pentagon about the film!
Actually it came out in 1982. I remember seeing it in the theater that summer.
Lotta stuff came out weird. The helicopter in Red Dawn was what the original Hinds looked like.
First flight of F-117A was in 1981, by tail #780 which is on static display on Nellis AFB.
@@That_Stealth_Guy Would that have been for testing, before it became operational? It's wild how long it was flying before the public even knew it existed.
@@bridgecross That was for testing, tail #'s 780-785 being the test aircraft. First operational aircraft was delivered in 1982 tail # 786 AKA "War Pig" and being declared operational in Oct 1983.
Fun Fact the last NIghthawk #843 was built in Jul 1990.
Great montage and music! 👍👏
Awesome movie. One of my favorites.
как название фильма?
I know that aircraft is fictional but it's one of the best designs I've ever seen.. It looks fantastic 😁
It looks like 70's futurism
Look up BAC TSR2
They added the MiG-31 as a buildable unit in Command and Conquer Generals: Shockwave Mod. One of my favorite units in the game. www.moddb.com/mods/cc-shockwave/images/phoenix-bomber-for-general-leang#imagebox
@@digitalradiohacker If you want to see one in the metal they have the only one at Cosford Aircraft museum near to Telford England.
@@leahall I might check that out actually. I thought they'd torched all of the prototypes and had no idea that there was one on display.
Thanks!
By far one of my favorite movies ..... Clint is a legend
Good memories of this typic Cold War period movies...this plane makes me remember the GI joe toy : black plane of Cobra : Raven from 1988, or 2008 rise of cobra model ( my favorite ) many thanks for sharing............... ; )
Excellent
Awesome movie!
Good work!
Thanks!
Excelente filme !! Muito bem produzido , show !!!
Espetacular!!!!
First! Love it btw. Now you just need to score the whole movie
Thanks. That would be interesting. Too bad the movie itself is so divided into two parts. First part is so slow and second part is the better one.
Nice roundrel
@@telzer Could be the intro sequence for the sequel ...

Spettacolare ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
What a beauty
I'm glad the sub had the right connections to refuel a top secret jet from a foreign country.
They should film the sequel “Firefox Down” with Scott Eastwood.
The downside of making this Firefox down sequel is that the plane itself would be submerged underwater for the film's entirety. 🤷♂️
@@willywonka4340 It really lived up (or down) to the title in that respect.
My all time favorite movie Jet Fighter of all
Interesting that in 1982 the movie designers knew about "top secret" stealth techniques like putting the intakes on top of the wing where radar was unlikely to bounce off them.
One of mi favorites movies from the 80's.
Looks so much like the Blackbird
Super.
Only Clint could act the Russian. The Enigma of Russia never fails to die out.
Captain: "Remember we're friendly. Wave, Stewart!"
Stewart: "'Wave?'"
The Original Audio & Sound effects were Better! 🕯
Great movie.
Redo the special effects for this amazing movie.
One little detail about this plane that’s pretty cool is, there are no rivets in its metal work. Soviet planes of the time were (and still are afaik) build with standard rivet work joining the skin to the airframe. But Firefox’s skin is smooth and sleek, no rivets.
I seem to recall the foxbat was actually welded together to be able to withstand the high heat of high speed interception. Had some rivets but that was underneath the welder exterior... the internet is welcome to correct me here if I'm off.
@@joshtiel2980 Doesnt work for the Firefox ... the SR-71 leaks fuel until it reaches "operating speed/temperature" ... and making it FIXED weld connections will introduce problems, because different materials expand at a different rate. You ALWAYS need to use different materials to "have the best material for a specific job".
Enjoyed playing the video disk game .. wish I could play it now..
Super film j'ai bien aimé
First movie role of Clint Eastwood was bombing _Tarantula_ with Napalm as a jet pilot - looks like he never forgot how it's done 😄.
It's about time they made a Firefox 2!
Listening here this kind of Dolby surround sound is emotioning, but I think that it must be more emotioning yet when they projected many years ago in the theater cinema's. 🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎞️🎞️🎞️🎞️🎬🎬🎬🎬👍👍📽️📽️📽️📽️
This film made me enlist in the Air Force. Jets give a certain type a Hard On.
Classic
Would love to see a sequel to FireFox!!!!!!
There was a second book written called "Firefox down' .. same guy who wrote the first. It's pretty good, too bad it was never made as a sequel.
Yeah. Russians steal SR71 Blackbird 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@JustAboutTime Considering how there’s so many remakes and sequels… that would be so sweet if they did Firefox Down.
@@epi2045 Not sure if it could be believed, given how far behind the Russians have shown themselves recently. Maybe a flip with them stealing a F-5000 or whatever from a secret US installation! 😂😂
Wish they could remake this movie.
I read that the MIG31 mockup had a VM motor connected to the main landing ger and that the nose gear was cobbled together from an F-4's nose gear. Would have been neat if it could have been preserved somehow...
I have got the movie DVD of Clint Eastwood and Freddie Jones in Firefox and I am dedicating this movie DVD to my old school friends who are both sisters as I hope to see them again very soon to Chris and Hester from Billyxxxxx
Jai bhawani 🥰
I wonder! Where was Maverick when this Movie Came Out? I Think Clint Eastwood would had Kick his Ass! LOL
When a reboot ?? it is the moment i think.
reminds me of fireball XL 5
New sound edit? Bit of a racket to be honest. Thank God for the original sound track, perfectly matched the visual story
The movie ending is the movie ending. In the novels, Firefox Down (second novel), the Russian pilot managed to score a hit on the fuel tank causing a leak. This refuelling by the US sub only got him to Finland and the epic story just gets bigger as the Russians capture Clint and take him back to Russia to Lubyanka KGB headquarters Lenningrad. Its actually better than the first novel and movie portion but for movie purposes its too long and grinding to include in one movie story line. Too much to unpack with Clint's Vietnam PTSD....lol. I believe there was discussions with Clint 30 years ago to make it, but it never was.
Now D.A.Y.R.L. steals the SR-71 while Clint steals the fictional Russian equivalent Mig- 31. Got to love the 80's Action Films
Loved the book. Loved the movie.
Ich mag das video danke kameraden
The Firefox design owes a lot to the YF-17 Blackbird, the Phantom and the Hornet.......Im not sure that particular design could do mach 6, but lets suspend that disbelief for a while longer!
More like the A-12 !! The SR-71 fighter version that carried Missiles. It's shorter in length, but uses a interceptor radar system. Only problem, missiles do Mach 2. Jet does Mach 3.22 !!?? OOPS! It would had protected the XB-70 Valkyrie Mach 3 Bomber.
I Would Like to See This in CGI.
Now in museum jaja
Special effects go from thunderbirds to battle star galactica
When i have a problem with my Firefox browser i always say to myself...i have to think in Russian😂🤗
This movie deserved better visual effects!!
Top! Parece os Night Heaven dos Cobras de GI JOE!
Wheres the free movie of this.... its one of the best
Subtile
This sounds like a Dark Wave band
Reminds me a little of an F-35
my god. how those effects look terrible nowadays eh? but agreed. great movie back in the day
the original sound is 50000% better
Did anyone ever notice that blackened object in the background at the time marker 0;23, looks like a cruise ship painted black.
nice paper models
💚💚💚💚
Nice work. I would've appreciated for the replacement of Maurice Jaurre's horrible score, alone.
FrieFox 1982 👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👏👏👏🎬🎬🎬🎬📽📽📽📽
There should have been a comparison to the original sound.
@Apostolos Ginnakidis No English translation.
....Very old technology,,but we have in Transylvania - new cosmic one..
Mig-31 pesawat supersonic 😨😨
Gila njiir ...
Is there anyone out there who knows enough about airplanes and aerodynamics and physics and all that shit that can support the possibility that a plane like this really flies? because the truth is a very cool plane and it would be great to see it be part of some real life air force
Rumor has it, its aerodynamics suck and its probably not flightworthy. But it does look very beautiful - my teenage years dream plane and all time favorite.
@@NBDY-lp9vp ah really? wow, i dont knew that you say, interesting, but as you say is a very cool airplane ;)
It never went into full production, but look up the BAC TSR2
this movie will make the worlds second best browser in history.
Tell me movie name
@@warriorguddu8448 firefox
Oh if they could only motion track their shots back then.
among Clint's best work, ranks right up there with the Gauntlet, Paint Your Wagon and Bronco Billy......
John grant refueled ok let’s head home
What happens when the system has been tapped into with the same code frekinsy and the computer and the pilot response with out the plane going down as a restart
Interesting how the tires provide sufficient traction on the frozen tundra 🤔
The tires are not powered
The original Top Gun.
Some 40 years later, and russians are making 5mach plane in reality. Only they will call it now MiG-41.
The American X-15 flew at a speed of more than Mach 6.5, and this was in the late 60's.
@@richardike2342 Yes, it takes both time and money before these technologies become afordable. The soviets had hypersonic experiments also in fifties and sixties with their aircrafts, but now we live in era where these babies will fly.
Firefox was a beautifully designed aircraft forward kenards operated strangely though
You mean at 1:51? It looks like they can change their sweep angle, something like how the F-14 swings its wings when going supersonic. I have to admit that's actually quite neat. I had ideas along those lines as a fighter plane fanboy when imagining designing my own ultimate fighter plane.
I bet this is actually a prototype for the 6th gen jet
My uncle who was a combat veteran, US Army Air Corps saw Fire Fox in 1982. He told me the jet design was based on concepts, plans for future USSR-Warsaw Pact 🛩. The US did not have planes like that. They were R&Ding B2s Stealths.
Like seem at the SR-71 and the Concorde
ALL THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO!!!
IGLESIA LA VOZ DE LA PIEDRA ANGULAR
The books were far, far better.... even though the film was great.
Ha... clint
Why does this plane remind me of a cobra night Raven whenever I see it?
Too bad the Soviets didn't play along and make the Mig. 31 actually look like the Firefox rather than the Mig. 25! The real Mig. 31 is called the Fox Bat!
I agree, the real Mig-31 should have looked like Firefox 😁. Actually Mig-25 is called Foxbat and 31 is Foxhound, according to NATO reporting names.
@@telzer You are right and I really should have known better, but I always get those two names mixed up!
How big was Firefox supposed to be? I've always imagined it to be bigger than the average fighter of the era, but not xb-70 sized
My guess bigger than a Su 27 smaller than a sr 71. Probably around the same size as the real MIG 31
Almost the size of a B-1 Bomber maybe
Model makers who made the movie props said it was 60ft long.
Damn epik 70s logic , graphics, and plot twist he made it stop at the end of ice hell yah no firecrackers tho
Wished Peace with , All Nations, On Earth , Forever. May. GOD BLESSED US, ALL.
AMEN.
I love this movie but don't think subs carry equipment to refuel fighter jets on board much less the hoses!!!
Надо заправить! Стоят и ржавеют! Работа! Разведка! Горы!
Merci macron
