Vidas, that you so freely make all of this available to us, simply because you care enough about advancing our technique in organ performance, is so generous and appreciated. Thank you.

at 1.44 you mean playing with the 'outside of your foot' (as an example of a problem). So play with the inside of your feet. No worries about this slight slip of the tongue, I don't even know the Russian for foot, let alone 'inside or outside of the foot'.

***** Practice also makes permanent! So practice the best you can, even if it's slow at first. Muscle memory is a tough thing to change.

    1. Some pedal techniques use both the outside and the inside of toes and heels.
    2. Noisy pedal actions also produce noise! It does not only depend on the 'force' of playing.

Nice presentation. Reminds me of the skiing lessons for keeping heels and toes together and use leaning to the insides of ones feet to turn.

It would be most helpful if you could illustrate your talk, showing on the pedalboard these
common mistakes and how to do things correctly.

METHOD OF ORGAN PLAYING - Harold Gleason, rev. Catharine Crozier Gleason [ First, obtain this book, work through it gradually, not in one semester !!!, and preferably with a fine teacher who uses this method in their own playing. The premise is really very simple. Knees together, heels together until . . . and you (almost) never need to LOOK down at your feet. You will innately know where your feet are on / above the pedal notes. With your knees still together you can reach ONE OCTAVE. Beyond that, the knees auto-matically move apart. With heels together, the reach can be a fifth (five notes, from middle C up to G, for example, heels still together. Beyond that range, the heels move apart. There you have it, in a nutshell, with hours of exercises using this format. Before Harold Gleason's death, there had been Five Editions, mostly to add additional repertoire pieces as they were needed to amplify the examples from "the literature." Them [Mrs] Catharine Crozier Gleason continued, adding (I believe) two additional editions (VII). My wife and I each had our Edition 5 books, kept them, still have them, use them. I believe we were poor church mice when Edition 6 was released, but when Edition 7 emerged from the presses, we purchased, and have, 1 copy. ESSENTIAL ].

I like your suggestions but am confused when you say not to play with the inside of your feet and then say to play with the inside of your feet. Which is it? I'm guessing you meant to say not to play with the OUTSIDE of the feet.

In my opinion, you should have shown the way that the feet go on the pedals as long as you were explaining the different mistakes and at the same time the proper way how to play correctly mentioning the use of the tip and the heel of feet. Too many words and nothing about visual demonstration. Thank you for reading this comment. Khannib.

Good effort, but I agree, show demonstrations. Comment about do not play inside, then he says use the big toe. What about a Hammond XPK-200GL? Straight 20 note long pedals. When to use heel, when to use toes? I and others play in socks, shoes feel too inaccurate. Can not find the download.

Too much talking! You need to demonstrate what you are referencing with your feet at the pedals!!
