A lot of ppl who watch this for the 1st time are always surprised about the guys reaction to getting held at gunpoint by chucky, they never realize that the guy can't see chucky and thinks it's normal human sticking him up. He only realizes the doll is alive when he looks into the rear view mirror the moment before chucky suffocates him with the plastic bag.
I love the line "How's it hanging Phil". Chucky is as funny as he is scary. The Child's Play movies were very frightening as a kid.
11:47 Chucky thought being in a doll body would make him invulnerable. But as the voodoo man in the first movie explained, the longer he stays in that body, the more human he becomes. Which makes him transferring to the doll body completely pointless since he's still just as vulnerable as a human. And it's not really ideal for a criminal in his situation evading his past if he's talking and walking around in a doll body.
Child Play’s 2 is my favorite in the whole series. Enough said.
He went after Andy again because he can only transfer his soul into the body of the first person he told his secret to. They change this in later movies
That toy executive guy wouldn’t know where Andy was taken. Only the CPS workers, courts and foster family would know. How do I know that Andy’s case would not be privy to just anyone? Because I am a social worker and I know how these things work.

I really liked this movie a lot more than the first, basically this was the child’s play movie that I ever first saw and this was the movie that I grew up watching the most. I really like that Alex Vincent comes back to play Andy and he’s much better in this one, and I really liked the character of Kyle and I really dig the finale where it takes place at the good guy doll factory which is a very good idea, and Chucky is a lot more creepier and more malicious in this movie, it’s just all and all a very enjoyable sequel and a fun popcorn horror film.
I liked your reaction to the first one a lot too. By the way, the woman playing his foster mom was also in an American werewolf in London
And I'll add that dad has below zero experience with kids. He's pretty well behaved. He told him not to touch the glass statue and he stepped away. As soon as Andy's scared rather then comfort him he's just like "I don't got time for this shit". So sad
My fav line from this movie is "You God damn women drivers!". I know Chuckie was intended to be a scary character but everytime I his tiny angry mouth... I just laugh so hard.

Best Sequel Ever, In My Opinion

The exterior of the toy factory is also seen in Terminator 2, which was released a year later. The final showdown and the murder of Andy's teacher were planned for the first movie but didn't make it in.
This movie scarred me as a 3 year old. I thought chucky was in our basement for 2 years. These days I love the chucky movies.

Saw bride of chucky in 1998 in theaters. I was 6 years old. It was funny to me.

Yeah bride and seed its gets more horror comedy but then goes back to being darker chucky again. I look forward to you guys continuing thr chucky series! There's Childs Play 3 next, then Bride of Chucky, Seed of Chucky, Curse of Chucky and Cult of Chucky. Then there was thr remake 2019 A.I. Chucky and then there is the Chucky series they're on their 2nd season currently! But only watch the series if you've seen the movies!

Can’t wait til we get to see part 3 and beyond. There are two seasons of chucky to go along with the 7 films. Also Andy is never believed until it is too late or almost too late. Also I always thought that since Andy wasn’t the first person he told in this film of his identity I always thought the end sequence never would of worked in this film because of who chucky revealed too first
The USA Network in the 90's used to have an alternate ending play where you see the melted plastic and blood blended in form into a new doll face.
I prefer this over the first. 3rd is okay. Bride is okay. Seed is ridiculous. More so than the others. Curse is mostly boring, but with a nice cliffhanger. Cult is decent. The show is a mixed bag, and the remake is okay.
This one was definitely better than the first.
Nothing beats the OG.
I'm probably in the minority here, but personally, Bride of Chucky & Seed of Chucky are my favorite of the Chucky movies. They're just so fun & a bit stupid, but the first 5 are really good.
I hope you guys get around to seeing the rest of the projects in this franchise, each movie is definitely hit or miss, but it’s worth it to get too the later stuff in the franchise like the TV series, which I believe is one of the best projects
The one definitely a miss is Seed lol. The rest are pretty solid in their own way. But seed was the worst imo as a fan of the franchise for years.
You can tell they had more budget and more faith in Chucky this time around he looks much better IMO then the first one. I love the cover art the first time I saw that on VHS many years ago I had to rent it and couldn't resist. If you like this, I highly recommend the "puppet master" series, "demonic toys" and "Dolly Dearest" which is more or less the female "child's play"

The movie's writer Don Mancini, who's been involved with all the sequels and the TV series (but not the remake), got to recycle a lot of his ideas that he wasn't able to use in the original draft for the first movie. Using ideas from previous drafts will happen a lot in the movies
Originally, Don wanted to make a satire on children's marketing and how kids were being groomed into "consumer trainees". The good guy dolls were able to bleed and you'd have to buy good guy band aids to make kids buy more of their products and Andy would mix his blood with the doll in a rite of brotherhood. This would bring the doll to life and his subconscious would be a manifestation of Andy's subconscious rage as he would go after Andy's enemies including his teacher. The finale for the first film was also meant to take place in the toy factory

Remember from the first movie...the more chucky stays in that doll the more human he becomes. Thats why he starts bleeding and he's freaking out cause he could be stuck in that doll forever
I'm glad I'm not the only one who wonders how Andy got in there if it was locked? And in the 80s and 90s it was common to be told to put your head down for punishment. In 1st grade I had a witch teacher who allowed other kids to walk on the grass but not me. My dad saw this when he picked me up. One day he saw her yell at me and he yells to me "don't worry about that bitch just keep walking through the grass." Lol

I know I'll probably get flack for saying this, but I hope you will watch the remake. I really liked it because it's a whole new story for how Chucky came to be.
Yeah I feel like the remake of the first Chucky and the last two Chucky sequels are the best ones as well as the original of course. And the TV series is definitely worth a watch. Season 2 just premiered this last week actually. Each episode gets better and better so I’m excited to see how you three will like the other movies as well as the tv series when you get to it. =)
