as a non-climber. I`m honestly more impressed by the nature that leaves such poles standing, it seems almost incredible just to find rock needles like these at all. Take good care of them, guys.
JeffersonDinedAlone same they totally freak me out haha,.,,but i have been watching tons of them lately. you would like the near parachute fail vids 😂😂😂😲🤭
An old local said that there used to be many more stacks like this there but the Australian navy used the towers for target practice and destroyed them. This one hidden survived it seems.
This area is beautiful! While less adventurous, we enjoyed the inland hike to this spot (video on our channel). For sure one of the highlights of Tazie!
i am a trad climber that came placement was insane it looks like he is using it as a chock since all cams are extended, big problem that cam dos not have an dbl axel so once weighted the cams will roll up and pop. That crack is perfect for a variety of different nuts/ hex which when slung out and set correctly could hold a bus falling. that placement is a bad joke to a real climber.
you realize that the 20m horizontal rope will pull on the stack with anything between 1-10 tons if you stand on it and depending how taut it is an if you fall into it, and that this 60m stack with a 3m footprint will make that a 1:20 lever advantage at the base of the stack turning it into 20-200 tons of force, that you are excerting on rock that has been sitting out in the open, exposed to saltwater, corrosion, and thermal changes for eons...
marcuelcajon I'm not sure what point you are trying to make with that comment but they DID make a lot of fundamental mistakes that are quite dangerous. Mistakes that DID NOT have to be made. :)
+joel allen Daniel Ahnen did pass away from a climbing accident in 2011 in India. Did you see him hiking the El Camino del ray with no ropes at all? Crazy..
From what I understand the new totem cams can take a substantial fall on just two lobs, but I''m not even sure what cam that was. Some scary looking placement though.
What the hell are those highline anchors, haha! 2 leashes though, bomber. N of leashes = N of bolts used per anchor, I think he found the golden ratio [this is How NOT to highline]
if you have done any harder alpine climb, or even climbed alpine style at all, you should know that making great placements is not always possible. They probably included this placement in the video because it was the riskiest one.

I love how he doesnt even try to setup the cam, he just sticks it in and is like "Yup this will work"
That quality of footage for 2010 is insane
A climber is someone who never felt dizzy in his life. Never once otherwise he would remember it
I feel dizzy just watching him!
Stunning video with such a good track too !! Thanks !!
As someone with an extreme fear of heights, I find these videos to be fascinating.
JeffersonDinedAlone same they totally freak me out haha,.,,but i have been watching tons of them lately. you would like the near parachute fail vids 😂😂😂😲🤭
I am so scared of heights...just take me to the top and throw me off...get it over with!! My hands are so sweaty I could put out a cigarette!
that cam at 4:31...wow...wow...
yeah, i hope they'd fix this one
That's exactly what I thought. He was a lucky dude that he didn't fall then.
you guys follow justbombergear on insta? pretty funny...
Had a mini internal panic attack haha
Looks incredible!
Very good video.
Great climbing.
Congratulations
Beautiful presentation, some really stellar scenes here my friends
And some really un intelligent climbers.
Good to know I was not the only one thinking about that psychological placement on 4:30 hahaha.
Awesome climb!!!!!
this video was straight up awesome.
An old local said that there used to be many more stacks like this there but the Australian navy used the towers for target practice and destroyed them. This one hidden survived it seems.
That is worse than sickening!!
That's hardly the most sickening thing that the Australian military can be accused of.
I have never heard of this. What an awesome stack
Tasmania's Totem Pole. My son Steele at 7:30.
That's some sketchy cam placement.
This area is beautiful! While less adventurous, we enjoyed the inland hike to this spot (video on our channel). For sure one of the highlights of Tazie!
great movie and music,music,music...
Awesome! Thank you so much man!

gustav anderson these guys aren’t real climbers ? 😂.
your agility amazes me! ...
The last 2 songs in this video are part of a mix by izhevski, called cotton st. Epistola di frasco.
3:12 weird shot decission imo
Awesome climb I'm so jelly. also I wouldn't use that dodgy cam placement but hey gratz on the climb :)
freakin awesome guys. love it :-)
Yea I'm not even sure if I could see a safety rope after they tightend the line. I could be wrong tho.
Amazing

Excelente música......
Would love to travel to these places.
Awesome!!
Wow, to think that that rock could tumble at any moment is scary as shit.
First time when I watched it 720p were awesome.
These guys are lucky to be alive. There is so many things wrong is this video.
Dude, when he placed that cam a little bit of me died for him. And I don't even climb on trad.
joel allen You should send them the rule book then.
marcuelcajon I'm not sure what point you are trying to make with that comment but they DID make a lot of fundamental mistakes that are quite dangerous. Mistakes that DID NOT have to be made. :)

DarkSagan 😂🤣🤘
Thai food, shelter, and some places it is not expensive. Visiting the Island was climbing it. There are beautiful scenic spots.
that was a dangerous cam placement only 2 of the lobes were touching the rock
He was a Legend.
Oho ... Dashing stunt realy osm
From what I understand the new totem cams can take a substantial fall on just two lobs, but I''m not even sure what cam that was. Some scary looking placement though.
Stellar
awesome!!! Is it trad only? or is it bolted?
this is one of the most beautiful climbing videos i've ever seen. and i've seen a lot of climbing videos
This is intense. I want to do rock climb like this someday.
NOT. A. CHANCE!!! I'm freakin out just watching the vid!
That cam at 4:31...
+Lumberjack Looks like bomber placement ! Doesn't it ?
it is so cool but get confused how get the gears back after abseiling from the Totempole.... it is so cool!!!
That is insane
4:30, ideally all the cam lobes will have solid rock contact.
Amazing is the only word that can be used!
Wau, really cool.
a figure 8 as your safety ring?
i noticed that too, thought these boys knew what they were doing so i ignored it!
4:37 it's like he didn't even try to place that one safely
4:37
Fantástico
Wow 👍
I want to go to there!
I abseiled off that cliff at the start just on the weekend!!!
Super sick video!! Does anyone know what grade the climb is?
I need to go change my underwear now, lol.
But seriously my palms are sweating, holy sh*t!
Nice Job!
wow... i need to fucking do something with my life
Yeah was that cam placement for real?
top markotop.........nice......
dude...sick climbing! can you please tell me the name of the track playing @ 3.53? very nice minimal prog..!
R.I.P dude
everyone talking about that cam placement, but what about that HIGHLINE ANCHOR?????
I love how slacklining evolved in past 10 years, line like a string, leash with locking carabiners, no rolex for sliding...
what grade is the route?
What the hell are those highline anchors, haha! 2 leashes though, bomber. N of leashes = N of bolts used per anchor, I think he found the golden ratio [this is How NOT to highline]
SOOO MUCH WINNDDDDD!!!!
Sketchy 4:34
crazy :OOOO!!!
Great shots, but I find it strange that there are always bolts in all routes?
Which placement was risky? at what time? I'm quite novice and curious what a risky placement looks like.
whats the song when theyre highlining the totempole?
was i the only one who screamed with the guy when he fell from the slackline?? :D
ух! отлично время провели!
I need the track starting at 06:24.. So beautiful, I want to listen to that too while slacking :) thx already❤️
Have you found the track already? Shazam won't find it... :(
Before 8:20 I was wondering if he was hooked to the highline somehow. Then I was glad he actually was :)
Safety is clearly an afterthought
Wow! I hope that was the only cam placement.
Bad slack line anchor too.
cool ^^
That cam.... good fucking god....
Hi Guys, cool stuff :)
p.s. This Friend in 4:35....well, could be better instilled, or different one :).
Anyway I'm jealous :)
it also skips right there, not showing him clip. that just seemed kinda funny to me. but huge props for the whole adventure thats really awesome!!
Haha, yeah!!!
So yeah I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be fall protection
4:36 - Worst gear placement ever!
wow
This is like the lost continent, or once part of one, do they have MacDonalds there ?
how do you guys get down????
if you have done any harder alpine climb, or even climbed alpine style at all, you should know that making great placements is not always possible. They probably included this placement in the video because it was the riskiest one.
Anyone knows which cameras they use?
5.12b PG13
What's the name of the song at 2:20 ( to 3:50) please? thx a lot
Can u please share the details of the music used in your video?
Name of the last song??
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
I'm saying that there is no way he climbed on that cam. I think it was victim of a non-climbing editor.
this reminds me of the poor little raccoon on ace ventura 2
wowwwwwwwww nicee
I can't believe these dudes are still alive... Maybe its because of the bomber cam placements...
Yea I did think that
8 years ago today.
