    Hidden inside the Behringer K-2 is a Guitar Synthesizer! Using the included patch cables you can plug any guitar into the Behringer K-2 and control this vintage Korg MS-20 clone from any guitar! Super cool!

    To get rid of the "jumpiness" of the open strings, one could use a simple capodastre a couple of frets up the neck!

    • @WayneJoness
      @WayneJoness  Před 3 lety +1

      That is a clever idea! Similar to a zero fret found on some guitars.

    I was keen to buy MS20 since I played MS10, but the old ones are to expensive and reissued with mini keyboard was useless for me. I've found out this Behringer module and your video convinced me to buy one! I always wanted a guitar synth but these Rolands equipment was too expensive and I didn't like delay made by D/A converters. Great informative video, thanks a lot❣🥰

    Hey. Super cool video. I am just about to buy this synth as my first ever introduction to synthing. I will acctualy use this with my trumpet, and a trumpet muter and pickup. So i will basically do the same thing, but i will also split the signal from the trumpet so that i can add effects to the original trumpet sound, and also controll the oscillators with the trumpet.
    I have a question about the in jacks on the synth. Does it support stereo input (as my trumpet output is stereo) or will i have to use a converter to make the stereo signal a mono signal.
    Also, can i use a balaced cable for the cable between the trumpet and the synth?

    This video was super informative. Thank you. I was hoping to find a way to connect a guitar to the K2, and then also control my Crave or another synth that has CV in, but as you pointed out this won't work because the K2 uses a different standard. Aside from a processor that converts guitar to midi, do you have any other ideas on how to get a good clean guitar to CV signal for pitch tracking purposes without breaking the bank?

      There is a voltage stepper thing that you can use to connect the k2/ms20 into standard cv Voltage

    • @WayneJoness

      I do not, I would look for a hertz to volt per octave converter. These have been around but I do not see anyone making a unit at this time.

    You might want to try a compressor between the guitar and synth. Make those notes last longer.

    • @WayneJoness
      @WayneJoness  Před 3 lety +2

      I agree, compression will help with the sustain, but I decided to keep the demo as simple as possible and easy for anyone to duplicate

      A fuzz box would be most appropriate. This video has convinced me I must buy a K2. I already own a Sonuus G2M MkII guitar-to-MIDI converter which is a great device for making the guitar a MIDI controller. The K2 analog monosynth with guitar-as-pitch control device has a very different feel. Thanks for pointing this feature out!

      Look, it was my dream to control synth with guitar not with keyboard since 40 years! Dedicated staff of Roland was and still is too expensive for me. So, this is a solution.
      This sound is raw, without eq, delays and reverbs. He just shows HOW to connect guitar to this synth, not how to make sounds.
      Pat Metheny uses guitar synth to play solos and it sounds great.
      Surely, such connection requires precise technic of playing only one note at a time. Messy, noisy guitar player won't sound good with it. In this video guy shows us possibilities. Maybe oscilator is set too low and added 5th on second oscillator doesn't make a good sound, that's not the point of this video. Everyone has to search for his own sound with this synth.
      I appreciate this video! I already bought K-2 and I'm going to use it with my guitar because I'm not fluent keyboard player❣🥰
