Best thing about this show - I'm actually Lesley one of the contestants. Stewart? We've been cosily tied together ever since we met on the show!!! 27 years together 😍
@@weegie8895 "Stewart doesn't go away empty-handed" indeed. ;-) Congratulations to you both. (And thanks for uploading the clip -- I had been trying to remember the name of this "words from consonants" show).
Love it!! I was on this show in 1990 so the clip brought back good memories for me as well. By then I was cosily tied to my wife, with three tiny children (who are now in their 30s and have given us eight grandchildren).
Catchword was one of my favourite quiz shows growing up and this brought back lots of good memories. Thanks for uploading Lesley and congratulations to you both!
@@jakecard981 hi! I'm one of the contestants on this clip. Randomly watching again. The majority of the rounds involved being given 3 random letters. You then had to think of words you could make using those letters, in order starting with the 1st letter. Long words got bonus points. Best way to practice was making words out of license plates. So, NVG - could be navigate. STR could be street, strain, saturation etc. All about words and letters.
Weegie. your episode of The Chase has just shown on NZ television! Loved the show - I still play the 3-second letter game with my partner using car number plates on long road trips. We give points for "first alphabetically" rather than length, so my car (CFW377) is currently named "Cauliflower"
Aw thanks. Don't often pop by here so sorry for the long wait to reply . That's exactly how folk practised for the show and yes, we still do the license plate game. CFW would have stumped me by the way! But I'm going to be thinking about this all night now. Me and Stewart still cosily tied together - will be 30 years next year!
@@Juliukas101 much simpler, less flashy times! Clip was from 1992. I'm the female contestant flirting with Stewart - been together ever since then, 31 years together now 😄
Only just seen this comment, the CZcams thing has just been a bit of fun. Robert, the Elvis impersonator was totally bemused . This year will mark 30 years of me and Stewart being 'cosily tied together' 😄 We both tried a few other quiz shows - Stewart did Ejector Seat - a one series ITV show, I crashed on the Chase but got to the semi finals of Mastermind but a long time ago. Who knows - might try for Pointless!!!
I loved this show. It brings back memories of coming home from school and throwing off my uniform.

My dad was on this show in 1994
Mate!! I used to love this show. It was also really relaxing to watch.

I’ve just found this show. Can you give me a rough idea of how it works

Thanks Craig thanks again and hope all your best to 😂😮😅😊
I vividly remember the superb theme tune to this show .... It was Orient Express by Jean Michel Jarre.
Proper game shows where contestants didn’t need to babble on all the time and just gave answers
These days contestants all seem to be attention-seekers who act as though they're expecting to be 'discovered'.
The Chase brought me here! :)
Should stewart's first answer count? HOP hippopotamus.
That's numberwang!
What numberwang? Eh? What! What the hell are you talking about?!!!!!!!!!!!!
wtf funkin catchword ya existia desde 1993
Lol Catchword was so 80s and serious!

That bloke who looks like an Elvis impersonator looks like he's smelled a fart.
