  • From our own technician, these are the top 4 mistakes that customers encounter when setting their machine. This can be anyone; people who are new to the interface of the machine or people who have owned the machine for a long time and are trying more advanced settings and cant get back to "normal".

That first "mistake" could also be a trick to ball up your tungsten for aluminum welding (if you even bother to ball it up anymore, lol)

We have a whole playlist on the 221 and there are a bunch of videos out on it. We have a video of the basic set up of it. What specifically are you looking for?

The 221 can be especially good for thin material, and it would be great to see some additional detail and examples. The 221 has good low amps performance and range, doesn't do the brief high-amps start that some welders always use to get a satisfying "crisp start" and has has features like the TIG Spot mode. I'd like to see some repetitive tack welds on thin sheet metal to get/keep things lined up for later infill. Handling distortion when welding thin material such as body panels is always a challenge, and when you've got a welder that's a particularly good fit it would be nice to see how to make the most of it.

One of our future videos will be welding on thin sheet metal. But our current pulse video we weld some very thin razorblades.

My HTP welder seems to have a inconsistent arc, i.e. it flashes, so it's not steady. Is this common with your machines, or is there something I can do to remedy this issue?
    Edit: pulse is off.

No, HTP machines are known for a steady, consistent and stable arc. I would say check all cable connections, make sure you have a good ground and clean consumables. If you still have an issue call us at 847-357-0700

Do you have a video for SMAW welding with this machine? I can't seem to dig in with 6010 before it sticks, not good for burning pipe together.
