So in this Warframe Guide, I am going to tell you everything you need to know about the Kuva Sobek. I will provide you with Builds both for Beginners as well as for Steel Path and I will also show you a setup that is SO BUSTED you wouldn't believe it!

I think it’s alright. It’s kinda like a shotgun that’s similar to the Kuva Karak. Not amazing stats, but fun to use and pretty above average
Honestly, I wish Acid Shells was disabled for the Kuva Varient with a nerfed version of the mod built in, as the kuva buffs feel too conservative as if to offset the absurdity of Saryn Acid Shells.
A pure Toxin Sobek still feels "okay" on Steel Path at 70% status chance, and will feel better with the new Sobek Augment and Armor Rebalance.
A Heat Sobek will feel incredible with Heat Inherit thanks to Blaze, 100% SC, and multishot out the as-, not my cup of tea but it's really tempting. (may grind out a second Kuva Sobek for this.)
But, I'm excited to use a Cold Sobek with the upcoming Cold buff. [Freeze on max stacks for bonus Critical Damage] It could be good with Shivering Contagion + Hunters Munitions + Primary Frostbyte / Vandetta. With a +90% Cold Mod, it could feasibly proc Shivering Contagion to a full freeze on initial shot, maybe punchthrough could push it over as well; but, I have a feeling it will need a +Cold / +Crit Chance Riven.
Its really worth for acid shells with the disposition being 1 instead of 5? i think my riven with punchthrough is useless with kuva sobek, i dont think its worth if u dont have a viral riven D:

That was lucky, i had to go three time for a lich with the sobek just i had to fusion, the third came with 54%+ toxic ephemeral

I am definitely going for Toxin to compensate the weakness of the negative.
id roll it for +toxin and put it on regular sobek just for saryn, toxic lash would make it the one case where regular would scale acid shells better than kuva version

Acid shells needs to have the LoS removed from it. It's way way way too inconsistent and it holds the mod back severely

If they’re already claiming it’s busted on saryn, do we really want to remove the LOS restrictions? I mean, spore already ignores LOS.
@richardwhite3521 saryn is going to be broken no matter what. De has made it very clear that saryn is the only OP frame they will allow, just look at what happened with dante. If they're that worried about acid shells being too good with saryn, then I'd rather them lower the damage, as long as it's more consistent

@@MHBlacky_ENG Thanks for the response! In the end, after a couple of hours trying to spawn a Lich with the Sobek I got tired and decided to settle for Kuva Kohm for now. :)
@@NoStLinuxGaminghey, a tip for next time: extract wether you get a lich or not, this will remove the shown item from the drop table, therefore increasing the odds you get what you want. The most time you can spend trying with this method is the number runs to match the number of kuva weapons. As long as you extract each run, you will eventually get what you want.
@@AvgGamerGuy15 Thanks for the tip. Now I'm aware that it took me more time because I wasn't using the most optimal kind of a mission for spawning the candidate (I used exterminate instead of capture).
acid shells also really excels with grouping + armor strip + punch through, another AoE status like electric or gas also helps a lot there, very capable quadratic scaler (think melee influence except with % health explosions)

I've read that Acid Shells uses the health of normal versions of enemies even when you use it on SP enemies, which means it's doing ~15% of SP enemy's HP damage in the explosion. Any idea if that's true?
its true, armor strip through spores or other means is a lot more important to get good use out of acid shells now
Hallo, habe gesehen deine alte Videos sind auf deutsch. Wollte fragen ob du evtl. ein Tipp für mich hast. Bin momentan MR12, habe SP freigeschaltet aber komme da nicht weiter. Habe keine Waffen die irgendwie schaden machen und eine auszubauen die ich am ende nicht mehr verwenden werde fühlt sich wasted an... :C
Ich empfehle dir Arbitraton zu farmen und dir alle Galvanized mods(Adaption) holst falls du das noch nicht gemacht hast.... wenn du glück hast bekommst du dort sogar rolling guard.
Sehe zu das du dir einen Warframe bauen tust der deinen Waffen schaden boostet und im Sp was aushält.
Mach alle quests um zur Zariman zu kommen damit du dir die Incarnon apdapter holen kannst im Circut.
Schalte Helmith frei.
Such dir einen Clan der dich ordentlich unterstützt.
Acid Shells is also really good on Mirage. slap on 2 corrosive emerald shards on her and with her clones up, one shot from the Sobek instantly stacks 12 stacks of corrosive.

Acid Shells has a 100% falloff over it's range. Watch his clip with the charger again.
You can maximize on that aspect by playing someone like Nidus or Vauban that can group up tightly.

Acid shell doesnt work on steel path enemies. The 45% only takes into account their base health and not the steelpath bonus they get. meaning it's not 45% max health but more like 12%.
Even if he had errors stated in the videos, which did happen in both to be fair, he also showed video footage of high level steel path enemies exploding with proper application, so it doesn't really matter. As long as it works and he's not doctoring footage, which would be figured out pretty fast by others in the community if he was, then it really doesn't matter if it's 45% or 12%. Enemies are still popping.
@@topgamer101 im also sure he kinda mentioned that,on its own, its not very good in steel path anyways. (cuz of the armor mostly but im sure he half realized and forgot to mention the health being bonus rather than base)

The new sobek mod will give you 34.1 multishot when fully stacked with galvanized hell.
So I say it’s worth it

@@ZeRafut multishot =‘s multiplicative damage so the more multishot on the weapon, the more damage you can do with less bullets.
which intern will boost your kills per minute.
coupled with the right warframe & synergy & you will be looking at a lot of damage when modding properly.
I recommend a damage over time build. if you just started playing Don’t worry about it too much. but at some point raw damage builds fall off so you’re going to need a damage over time build to help you scale further

Yes, the normal Sobek pretty much needed a Saryn to work well. The Kuva variant now is a big upgrade :D

If a fully stacked Saryn can’t make the weapon good, it needs a buff or deletion (cough cough, balistica)
I have killed level cap demolishers with the normal Sobek acid shells needs a base damage + status duration build that’s all.
Its just a stronger sobek, has no passive. Also acid shells is bugged and has line of sight on it. Im disappointed both of them come with 0 polarities
I mean....considering its a Kuva weapon you kinda have to drop 5 on there regardless.... innate polarity on kuva weapons is kinda silly honestly. since you wont need more than 5 polorized slot anyways once you hit lvl 40,.

When i calculated DPS, even without Riven Kuva Sobek is better even if it's a downgrade from 5/5 to 1/5 riven.
I'm using him with Saryn for very long time, I mean Sobek, and now Kuva Sobek. I had riven with Heat and Viral damage type because spores have corrosive status to strip armor.
Ofcourse Acid Sheels is a must have.
Toxic Lash combines with fire, creating some weird acid shell explosion that kills many enemies in large area.

Just a note, the acid shells mod is currently bugged with it's LoS being pretty weird sometimes (like Dante's). Buuuuttttt, nice big butt.
Both my glaxion and sobek liches hav the best names iv gotten, kiratina pop for the glaxion and aginoo imot for the sobek

@@MHBlacky_ENG the glaxion was the first 1 and that got a 51% toxin with the ephemera, the sobek is a 52% toxin with the ephemera as well and got the back to back

I have a feeling DE is going to start trying to balance warframe. You notice alot the updates had a lot of balances changes lately. Guns enemy armor. I feel like frames are next. Reigning in the outliers.

@@MHBlacky_ENG wym we need it to come. Let's be real saryn don't exactly got alot of fans. She is the Julius Ceasar of warframe. If she turn her back she is bound to catch a couple knives. In all seriousness a massive overhaul to damage and health would goat warframe as a game. Idk how DE can achieve this without losing the power fantasy or pissing all the bot players who like just walking through levels with no resistance. If they figure it out though warframe is going to explode in popularity.

Yeah, roar is it unreasonably and exponentially better for Saryn due to how the damage you get and the damage that spreads skyrockets because of its interactions with her abilities as a whole as well as lash using status proc damage.
@@Fedico7000 The only argument for eclispe is the damage reduction and increase combined but roar is legit just 10x better.

The reason Eclipse is on this Build is actually for the defensive utility. I just didn't want to infuse Roar onto another loadout just for that short showcase clip 😉

It's bugged is steel path. It takes 50% of the non sp enemies hp # not the steel path enemy. Try it ingame on non sp vs sp and you'll see what I mean

doesn't really hold it back much on saryn/garuda or with armor strip & grouping combo, but biggest difference i've noticed is probably needing to keep your spores going for chain reactions on saryn where you could basically just ignore them before, which makes it less good on quick missions like exterminate than it used to be

Thankfully the riven disposition isn’t that great so you can go without but I can’t deny getting rid of a riven before a variant* weapon releases and finding out it’s either good or fun can be depressing

Wouldn’t recommend using shrapnel shot for a crit build. You’ll rarely be ADS for more than 9 seconds.
shrapnel shot applies when getting a kill while aiming, you can un-ADS after and still keep the buff

Unfortunately the Kuva Sobek doesn't work well with a Riven mod since it's riven disposition is only lvl 1 compared to the normal Sobek at level 5. One could argue the normal sobek is better in that regard if properly built.
I really think since the kuva sobek is still really good with Saryn, I believe after the Jade Shadows update, we'll be seeing something similar for the Tenet Glaxion with Frost Prime and I am cooking with such a build right now.
With the new cold procs coming, Biting frost/Primary Frostbite and as much pure cold damage you can dump into the weapon and from Frost himself with his abilities which can cover every ground along with being able to energy sustain with the Glaxion's new augment mod, I'm thinking some magic will happen with 100 percent crit/100 percent status chance spot on and around 8-10x crit damage. I've already done the math and I'm seeing the potential already.
I really want to believe the Tenet Glaxion will be Frost's new best friend.
regular sobek gets 150% toxin dmg to multiply with toxic lash, riven with 3 stats and a negative giving another 123% elemental dmg max will give 273% toxin. a kuva sobek with progenitor at 60% gets 271% even with the disposition it has rn, while keeping all of the kuva buffs and extra 10 mod space
As mentioned above with rivens involved they are almost literally identical, and this will affect your gameplay in no way shape or form if you're already going to level cap with either one, but the kuva Sobek it's just out-the-gate way better because of the increased stats and progenitor bonus making non-riven set ups, which is what most people will probably be using, significantly better already.
Edit: my phone is fucking stupid and refuses to accept the word "riven"

internal bleeding is a "RIFLE" mod...meaning it cant be put on the Sobek.
just more ways DE kept punching Sobek in the dick while lovingly giving the hek more attention,lol.
(but now we have Kuva Sobek finally some im less salty now)
Doesn't acid shells do like 75% health as corrosive with a good roar buff?
The flat damage is corrosive, the percentage hp damage is blast IIRC
My lich is immume to slash corrsive rad and toxin basicly any kind of toxin mix or combo expt gas so have to use a peirce gas or blast or impact blast or gas lol saryne prime was th projenitor ŕŕþ

You can use Dirga too so you can AoE other status effects or the mechanical dog too
if its on saryn then its bad if anything, it's viral spores block your corrosive spores, making armored enemies prevent the chain reactions, wasnt as much of an issue before it got nerfed to not scale its %health damage with steel path health modifier, would suggest hound for mass viral priming/synth deconstruct now
take Akdarza Kavat...people sleep on it but a fairly consistent team wide 60% crit boost is pretty decent.

The blueprint for Excalibur Umbra is given to players upon completing the first mission of The Sacrifice quest.
If you complete the main quest The Sacrifice, you get him along the way, and I’d like to add that it is really the only warframe you can get in less than 3 days without rushes.

Seems mediocre at best .... not very much of an improvement from the normal sobek .
it's not a meta weapon since you can't use the gimmick of acid shells on any frame, but it's def not mediocre. progenitor bonus giving an extra 60% for toxic lash before rivens is a really big improvement in itself. it's literally melee influence dual ichor but on a shotgun

You close to lose that or more to the bad riven disposition compared to the normal sobek
normal sobek has a very low base crit, the crit stats on the kuva version make it viable for more builds and give a big dps boost
@@deadlyjoz8761 nope even at a max toxin roll kuva only looses 1% toxin dmg compared to base and that’s with the disposition it has right now. It’s going to be even stronger as disposition goes up

Just another upgraded stats without any feature (unlike Tenet Galxion), made this weapon as collectible only. Not only we have to endure the boring Lich hunt, it also require 5 forma to max this weapon. And it basically just another Corinth Prime. Kinda disappointed. But atleast players that haven't finish New War got new weapon to play with.
Am I one of the few that remember that Xaku can do a similar thing with acid shells? Xatas Whisper acts similar to toxic lash. Upscaling the 35% HP explosion and triple dipping with faction mods.
