    Part #2 - Training Video to help understand the operation of your Hayward OmniLogic System so that you can operate your pool equipment from your OmniLogic App. **Now, as of May 2018, in newer versions of OmniLogic, the front screen has arrows to switch between Pool and Spa mode instead of swiping left and right.**

    I have had mine for only a year. I have had no issues until this past weekend. I switched from pool to spa pump mode but the valves never turned. The Omni says it’s in spa mode with no error codes. But it’s stuck in pool. What could it possibly be?

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  Před 3 měsíci

      Not sure. I would advise a complete reboot of system and also reboot of router. If that doesn't work for valves to change, there is a fuse to check on Omni circuit board to make sure it's ok for actuators to run. If still not working, they may have to reprogram your system from scratch to see if it will work then.

    Great video. Our pump always used to shut off completely when changing from skimmer to spa mode and then restart once the valves were in place, which I think is the right way for them to work. However, recently after some repairs were carried out we've noticed that the pump continues running when the valves change. Do you know where we adjust this setting so that the pump pauses between skimmer/spa change?

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  Před rokem +1

      It is a setting in the configuration for either the pump to stop while the actuator valves turn or the pump to continue running. Personally I set up the pump to keep running while the valves turn since they turn so slowly and it's not a problem for them to do that.

    I have a smaller “plunge” pool only about 3950 gal. It is set up in “pool” mode with a heat pump heater. The heat pumps control panel goes to 104. But with Hayward in “pool” mode it is capped to 90. Can i factory reset the system and trick the Hayward into thinking it is a spa not a pool somehow? I want to get the pool higher than 90. Thanks.

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  Před rokem

      First, the heater set point in OmniLogic should be able to be set to higher than 90 in the programming of the Omni. You can see my video on configuration of the Omni to see where you could go and edit your configuration and change this, in the heater section of the pool side. If you can't find it or can't figure out how to edit it, then just set your pool up as a spa, instead of pool, and this will allow you to go up to 104. Second, if you actually have a heat pump instead of a gas heater, your limitation will be the environmental temperature and you may have a hard time actually getting the temp above 90 degrees anyway. If a gas heater, then that water continues to be heated apart from what the temp is outside. Hope this helps.

      @@truelightpoolsllc4441 Hey thanks so much I was able to dig deep into the settings and find this. Pool now heats to 95 easily with the heat pump and it's great!
      Follow up questions:
      1. You said that you shouldn't heat a pool over 90deg. What's the reason for this? We used to have a cedar barrel type hot tub and in the summer we would turn it down to 95 or so and use it as a small pool without issue. What is the concern about heating a pool over 90? If it's important, its a 4000gal smaller "plunge" pool
      2. I live in the piedmont of North Carolina. We have a heat pump, as we noted. Do we do better to constantly leave the pool at the desired temp of 93, 94, or 95 or is it better to set a program to let it cool back down into the 80s then heat back up for the afternoon/evening when we use it most?
      THANKS!

      @@marshamk I'm mainly talking about a big pools like 20 or 25K gallons. It jacks the chemicals up a lot so you should check your chemicals daily. Your 4K pool is like a large hot tub so go for it, but still keep track of the chemicals to keep them in balance.

    Great video. Just starting to learn about this system. Couple questions. When you go into configuration wizard and you click new configuration, does that override an existing configuration or are there now 2 configurations set up. Also, my system has 2 pumps. One is the filter pump and one is the jet pump for spa. The system seems confused and I think it might be cause it is set as one body of water or maybe because a second configuration was set up after I was having troubles with the first set up
    Thanks for the videos, they’re great

      @truelightpoolsllc4441  Před 11 měsíci

      I have another video walking you through an Omni configuration so watch that one to guide you through setting up pool and spa mode. But to answer your questions, when setting up NEW config, it's new and overrides other config, otherwise you just EDIT your existing config. Second, you need to set up 2 bodies of water, one pool the other spa. In Pool set up your main pool pump that I assume is shared between both. In spa mode set up your spa jet pump only in spa area and you should be good.

    Great explanation of the system. Probably better than my builder. Question: does the bubbler only work in Pool mode? Can you calibrate the touch screen? My unit seems to be off...

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  Před 6 lety +1

      Yes the bubblers only work in pool mode, when you go to spa mode, the pool side is cut off when the valves change. To calibrate the touch screen, go to Config, Shell Command, tap the screen, EraseCalib, check mark to erase current calibration, then tap the 5 boxes that appear on the screen to reset the touchscreen calibration.

      Consult the OmniLogic manual on Hayward's website or tech support for more info about this. I'm not actually sure what this setup is supposed to do, I never set it up spillway when I am setting up an OmniLogic system.

    Thanks for the explanation! Does the spa pump have to be on medium or high when in spa mode? I have an issue with water slowly draining from the spa when I have the valves set to heat the spa. However, I've been running the pump on low speed.

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
      @truelightpoolsllc4441  Před 3 lety +1

      In spa mode turn pump speed up to minimum of medium, I usually turn up to 75-80% when in spa mode. On low it doesn't have enough power to push water up to higher spa returns.

    I have a spa integrated into my pool which I believe like you were describing and it spills over into the pool during normal pool mode. So from what you showed it is ok to have the SPA valve off when in pool mode and only turn it on isolating the SPA when in SPA mode? I was worried that during pool mode it needed to still be pulling water to clean it? Thank you.

    • @truelightpoolsllc4441
