    *CORRECTION: How's it? - "Kunjani wena?" is technically incorrect to use in conjunction with each other. Better is "Kunjani kuwe? (How is it with you: ku - with) or Unjani wena? (how are you yourself?)".

    Could you put all the classes in a playlist? Or number them in the title? It's a bit hard to follow alone

    Wow.. So iv never studied Xhosa before, i was aware it existed but knew nothing about it. As a language nerd i decided to learn some basic Zulu phrases about an half year ago to impress some friends and as i was listening this i suddenly realized i could understand EVERYTHING! The pronunciations and some annunciations are slightly different but even while passingly listening to this from another room i had no problem whatsoever recognizing and understanding this! Very cool!

    Molo bhuti,
    Great lesson kodwa ndibone impazamo kumbuliso wakho "How's it" Kunjani wena?" the correct one is "Kunjani kuwe? or Unjani wena?"

    I noticed that in "ndi" in this video and on the memrise course that it sounds like the n isn't pronounced at all, here it sounds pronounced a bit but almost inaudible, is it usually really reduced? Would I be wrong for making it's pronunciation more prominent? Or is it just a habit for natives to sort of reduce it?

    • @Jerimbo
      @Jerimbo Před 5 lety

      I watched more til he said "namndiyaphila" and the n was definitely there, so I'm guessing when it's at the start of the word, that's when it tends to die off

      @@Jerimbo molo bhuti, yeah it just sounds sometimes like it's not there, but it is. You dont need to emphasise it, just speak naturally. There are times when ndi is used as an infix in a word or as an object conchord and then you must pronounce the n (such as 'do you get me - uyandiva na?'), so dont try get rid of it. Just speak and listen. Enkosi!
