Thanks for this comparison. I’ve worn the 990 v5 since it came out and had to buy the v6 when my NB store didn’t have the v5 in stock. The v6 was a nice shoe but after a few days I couldn’t wear them so I gave them away. Now I can’t find the v5 online in my size. This video has been very helpful and I will be trying the v4.
I’m glad the video helped! Sometimes it’s very hard to make the switch from the v5 to the v6- the stability on the v5 is just unmatched. If you love the v5 you’ll love the v4
I’ll preface this by saying the v5 is my all time favorite shoe. I think it beats the other 990s in every category besides looks.. In my opinion it even tops the v6… I like the looks of the v4 more. That plastic piece on the v5 kinda puts it behind the others unfortunately. I LOVE the v5. My first NB!
I think once you wear the v5 a lot, the comfort can for sure compete with the v6! I agree, the v4 has it beat with the looks. Our first 990 was the v5 so of course we will always have a special place in our heart for the v5!
I have v 5 black color,I really like it looks! It has leather material,even i like to wear it when I wear skirt, it looks great! I bought it in the end of 2019 in Taiwan. Now I need a new pair of sports shoes. Just wondering should I buy same V5? ,or try others? ( My feet easily tired,need to find a pair of shoes with a good support and comfortable cover.)
Couldn’t stand the v5. Way too heavy and stiff. The v6 corrected all the v5’s short commings imo and I’d also go with the v4 or even the v3 over the 5.

The 2002r is super comfortable but the 990v4 is a whole other league! Enjoy those v4s!

You’ve got to try the greys, once you have a pair you won’t want to wear anything else!
To an extent I agree about the v4 being super cozy but man I’m such a sucker for the v6

I can totally see what you mean. The v6 really did fix a lot of things.
I like the plastic piece of the v5, just how i like the plastic piece on the sides of my jordan 4s.
I think the v5 looks a LITTLE less like a dad shoe.
