Personally, I'd start by googling candlestick patterns to find this channel. So I could have confidence in what I already know and learn priceless new information.
Read books first with your swap method (starting with risk management), take courses, journal, plan, backtest, and practice with mentorship.

After 1 year of data and track record I am finally able to open a live account. All I know about trading is thanks to you. You gave me the knowledge, but the consistency and the passion for financial markets too. My charts are clean, my trading is simple, I don't overtrade anymore, my positions are fundamental driven and I have proper risk management. That learning hack is very effective. It makes you understand the basics much easier rather than starting with the basic theories and not absorbing them since you can't get how they work. It also helps you become more interested about how things work in detail.

I have a degree in Banking and Finance the main secret recipe of trading is Standard Deviation(its the foundation of Technical analysis in my observation) then 2. Familiarity( pairs distances Sl and Tp). If your mentor does'nt understand Standard deviation they haven't reached 100% of mastery.
Yes standard deviation is one of the most basic things in finance

Great things to consider, for those starting for the first time and those who are starting again.
Even if I'm just opening a new portfolio (especially if I'm looking at a broker I haven't used before) these are all things I do now. And I must admit, while I was adamant on a few things from the beginning, you introduced some I had outright refused such as demo and back testing.
