that album is so flawless
It really is, every track brings something special to this album and it sounds so lush and well developed with its tone.
Mike Einziger is a seriously undderated guitar player, the intro riff on Echo is on of my favorite piece of music ever
It's also IMMENSELY satisfying to play...repeatedly...for several minutes on end 😆
I think the same dude
@@xx3astmanxx928I wish.. but too lazy to learn 😊
Wow. Takes me back to younger years/simpler times. This was a huge album when it came out; a real come of age moment for them which sprung Incubus into the new millennium
Also I keep meaning to say; seeing Skyrim on your shelf makes me smile every time I see one of your videos. Such an amazing game.
Such a fantastic album, Incubus really captured a great balance of different sounds on this one. Experimental yet familiar, punchy at times but so smooth and restrained too. I can see why it was a big hit when it was released.
And yes, Skyrim is amazing!!! I haven't played it in a long time but such a great game :)
The guitar tones on this album are fucking incredible. So god damned heavy.
100% 🔥
Mike Einzinger is such a guitar tone genius. Every musician in this band is such an artist.
This album creates such a mood.
Absolutely! Such a beautiful tone to this record.
Love to see people discovering this band. Their next album, A Crow Left of the Murder, is probably my favorite album of all time.
Yeah Incubus has been fantastic, I've really loved everything I've heard from them so far. Looking forward to A Crow Left of the Murder!
@@mollyesanbornCrow is their last great album sadly but still really cool.
@@bradmohr8098 come on, light grenades has fantastic songs, although crow is my fave of theirs
Just A Phase It always surprises me, it's one of those songs that transports the listener.
Absolutely, such a beautiful track!
I remember when this album first came out and the music videos on mtv. This was Incubus at their height of popularity and it's easy to hear why. A Crow Left of the Murder (next album after this one) is great too. I know you'll get around to that one eventually. For me this is year I got my license (01') so I listened to this cd a lot in the car. Thanks Molly! I look forward to more music
Yes, this was such a great album to listen to. Incubus really brought such a mature and polished sound to this record, beautifully produced and amazing instrumentals and vocals as well. I'll definitely have to do a video for A Crow Left of the Murder as well, I look forward to hearing it.
YES!!!!!!!! Just a phase!!!!!!! My very first band in high school covered “ Wish You Were Here.”
Yeah this is such a great album, so many amazing tracks on this one!
It's their best work, so far. Love them. Can't wait for A Crow Left of the Murder
I am looking forward to hearing A Crow Left of the Murder as well!
One of the most important albums of my life. This is a 10/10 in my books.
Pretty much zero skips 🤌🏼
I came here to say exactly this! A flawless album that came at such a critical time in my life. Instant memories triggered…
Top 3 albums, Molly. Thank you for listening. I really really mean it.
This album is gorgeous and was an absolute pleasure to listen to. Thanks for watching! :)
I can't think of a song I'd rather be listening to when I die than Aqueous Transmission. I'll never not feel calm and centered listening to it even after all these years.
Their next album after this, A Crow Left Of The Murder was actually my introduction to the band, never regretted it, one of the most beautiful albums out there for sure.
I can't wait to hear it!
Just watched Incubus perform here in the Philippines a month ago. They were awesome. 🤘💚
That's awesome, I'd love to see them live if I ever get the chance!
This made my day! A crow left of the murder is their next album. Its my personal favorite ❤
Aw thanks, hope you enjoy the reaction! I'll definitely have to plan a video for A Crow Left of the Murder as well.
The video for "Warning" is .. chilling, even to this day. Easy recommendation.
And the best song on the album
I'll have to give it a watch!
This is the end of the OG Incubus Trilogy.
Their original Bass player Dirk left the group after this album. Changing how the band sounds pretty drastically, I think.
Yeah I'll be curious to see what I'll think of their albums following this one without the original bassist.
Why does everyone seem to forget their debut album 'fungus amongus'?
In my eyes, it's the quadrilogy that needs to be heard.
Was waiting for this review of Morning View! Lots of Incubus fans regard this as their master piece. Hope you enjoyed it, and look forward to you continuing their catalog!
This album is indeed a masterpiece, just such an incredibly well developed album with such a beautifully rich tone to it. I'll definitely plan on doing more from their discography here on the channel.
What an amazing album. One of my fave albums. A unique album from a very unique band.
In my opinion, "a crow left of the murder" is the next album worth checking, although different in style.
I love your album reactions 👍
Thanks for watching! I'll definitely have to get to a reaction for A Crow Left of the Murder as well.
Hell yes. Another one of my favorite albums of all time. My favorite Incubus album. Saw them live last year and they’re great. Some of my favorites on the album are Nice To Know You, Wish You We’re Here, Just A Phase, 11am, and Are You In. Thanks for reacting to this album. I’d say do their next album A Crow Left Of The Murder next.
So many great tracks on this album, and tons of variety too. Incubus always has a way of perfectly blending the soft and harsh elements in their music. I loved hearing this one, and am looking forward to A Crow Left of the Murder as well!
The first album I've heard from them, still sounds amazing 🔥
Such a great record, their sound is really so amazingly developed on this album. Just a blend of everything that Incubus does so well.
One of the best albums I’ve ever heard!
Please do A Crow Left of the Murder. It contains a song (won’t say which one) that might be one of the greatest songs ever created!
Ooh, I look forward to hearing that album as well!
Oh man this brings back so many memories. I love the vocals, the lyrics, guitar, the gorgeous bass, drums, the rhythm of the album, everything. It was fun seeing you vibe to this, and I’d love to see you react to their album A Crow Left of the Murder next! :)
Yeah this was such a beautiful record, everything melds together amazingly well. The production is outstanding too. So glad I've finally given it a listen, and I look forward to hearing A Crow Left of the Murder! :)
@@mollyesanbornYesss. My favorite songs would have to be… all of them lol. The most beautiful sounding ones to me are Wish You Were Here, Mexico, Echo, (Echo is a great one to play in the background of a romantic date ❤️) and Aqueous Transmission 😊
I call it aquatic romance etheral core. Like watching the horizon on a beach, drifting away into dreamy melodic ephoria and nostolgia realizing it was all there the whole time inside. Nice to know you is the one that really got me hooked on them and awakened my soul. One of my favorite albums of all time. Funny how the tracks are random parts and some will think its the whole song. Keep it up dream shadow foc dixie lady.
Haha, aquatic romance etherial core... pretty accurate! There is something so dreamy about this record, it almost feels like you're floating when you're listening to it.
@@mollyesanborn yep. Like dreamy spiritual melodic wonder. As if you are in peaceful escape of sorrow and finding joy in it. Check out drift and cure by erra for the same vibes.
Another great pick! I've been waiting for more people to react to this album. Just a Phase might be my fav Incubus song...
Yes! One of my favourite albums of all time. I was hoping Molly would react to this. It has such a good vibe. Great timing with the Morning View XXIII re-release too.
This was such a fantastic record, I can see why it's a favorite of yours. So glad I've finally heard it!
Morning View was my first introduction to Incubus, being born in early 2001, and this coming out later in the year, so it's very much been with me throughout my life. I never really picked up on the water theme throughout the album, but it made so much sense when you brought it up. Two answers to two comments you had; the effect with the guitar kind of "circling" is caused by the Boss PH-2 Super Phaser, used consanly by Mike Einziger (the guitarist) throughout Incubus' albums. If you'd like to discover more about his techniques, Nick Fitzgerald is an amazing guy who does incredible Incubus covers and in depth tutorials on CZcams. Lastly, that guitar he used on Aqueous Transmission is a pipa that was gifted to him from Steve Vai. Been enjoying the reactions, loving the reactions and the descriptiveness on how you feel about the songs. Keep it up with the amazing work!
Thanks so much for the comment! This album was a joy to listen to, the production is amazing and Incubus really achieved such a maturity to their sound on this one. It just sounds so well developed, layered and lush with its tone. I'll definitely have to give Nick Fitzgerald's videos a watch, thanks for the suggestion :)
Yeah we're getting into the good stuff now! How's this for a smooth listen, yeah Molly? I'm very, very excited for when you get to the next one; "A Crow Left of the Murder." That one's my favorite from the band, though I'm still a fan to this day. This album takes me back though for sure to the college days. I have to forewarn you about the next record though; "Crow" is a very subliminal album. What I mean by that is, there's a lot, and I mean a LOT of these hidden parts and effects and stuff you likely won't catch on the first listen, and even me with trained ears, caught things I hadn't heard before on that album, later on. As in, two years later on. Given that they wrote "Crow" in like , so they say anyway, two weeks; it makes me wonder "how do they do this stuff?" It's all so brilliant.
Such a beautifully smooth album, so glad I've finally heard this one! Incubus really developed their sound so well on Morning View, the flow is impeccable. I'm looking forward to hearing A Crow Left of the Murder, I'll do my best to pick up on those hidden effects you talk about on first listen!
I love this album! So many great tracks and such creativity in the music. And obviously Brandon's vocals and lyrics are perfect. Light Grenades is an excellent underrated album by them that I think you would enjoy
I simply adore this album. This, along with Tool’s “Lateralus” and Coldplay’s “A Rush of Blood to the Head” are as close to perfect albums as I’ve ever heard. These were the soundtrack of my early twenties, so good!
I like that you mentioned the “watery” sound of some songs. The album was written and recorded in a Malibu, CA beach house. It definitely has a beachy vibe to it as a result of that.
This album inspired my first record, Aqueous Transmission was a huge inspriation. Mike actually plays a Pipa live and it's amazing
That is awesome! Yeah such a unique song, I love the sound of the pipa and the lushness that it adds to the sound on that track.
He doesn't play sitar...it's a Chinese instrument called the Pipa and it was a gift given to him by legendary guitarist Steve Vai but I agree it sounds beautiful and it's my favourite off the record.
I saw them in Raleigh on the tour for this album. They closed the show out with Aqueous Transmission, which is my favorite Incubus song. It's such a relaxing song. Amazing show.
@@zmarko I saw them during their 8 tour and they were phenomenal then
Definitely their jazziest composed album especially compared to their earlier funkier stuff. Love Morning View! I still consider Dirk leaving the band after this the greatest tragedy of music!! He took all the groove with him!!!
Yeah, pretty different from the experimental craziness of S.C.I.E.N.C.E, Incubus really matured their sound and added so much warmth and lushness to Morning View. I love both sides to their musical style. I'll have to see if I notice a difference with their later albums without Dirk on bass.
One of my favorite albums! I’ve seen them twice back when Make Yourself came out n then in 2011 when If Not Now, When..was released n both performances were amazing especially when they closed with the song Tomorrows Food, I was blown away. The drummer Jose Pasillas is phenomenal n one of my favorite drummers! Great reaction!
I saw these guys multiple times back in the day. They still sound amazing live. They played this album in full live in the beach house they recorded it in a few years ago. Very worth checking out.
Thank u for this! This ended up in my top 10 albums of all time and 'Aqueous Transmission' is my favourite track. Great review! 👍🏻
Thanks for watching! I can see why this is in your top 10 albums, Incubus really found a fantastic sound on this record and the production is incredible as well.
I got the dvd by Incubus called: Morning view sessions. It's a musical masterclass! I highly recommend a watch!
Noted, thanks for letting me know about it!
You caught that it's beach music. Definitely an album I blast for the 2 weeks or so of summer we get here in the UK. Check out the 23rd anniversary version of Morning View, especially Circles and Echo.
Awesome glad I see younger generation review these great albums from Incubus ❤
BTW I'm a Count of monte cristo fan myself! 😅 I love that movieeee
Thank you for watching! This album was amazing, I'm so glad I've finally heard it. And yes, Count of Monte Cristo is such a great movie :)
I really dig the anniversary version of this album. You can tell the band has really "lived" in the songs for the last 20 years.
The new version of "Nice to Know You" has an extended intro, and it feels like creating hype at a concert. As soon as everyone locks in, you're like "Here we go, baby!"
As far as refreshing/motivating albums go, this one is very high up on my list. It always makes me feel like I'm living in a beautiful, tropical city by the beach. Like Malibu or something.
I always find myself listening to it when I have a lot of housework to get done. It just gives me a great energy and creates a really positive atmosphere.
I also think this album has one of the best closing tracks of any album. It's definitely up there in my top 5 as far as brilliant closers go. Right up there with the likes of Farewell and Goodnight by The Smashing Pumpkins (Mellon Collie) and The Tourist by Radiohead (OK Computer).
Not sure if it's been mentioned already but, they just re-recorded this whole album this year for the 23rd anniversary called Morning View XXIII. It's definitely worth listening to to hear the differences in production value and what the new bassist brings to the table
Yeah a few others have mentioned that! I'll have to check out the re-issue at some point, I'd love to hear it.
20:00
Omg that face! “😏”
I knew exactly what you felt haha
Looking forward to more analysis of incubus
Greetings from Chile 🇨🇱
I remember when I was in high school, listening to this album on my CD player with headphones. I was sitting in a rocking chair and waiting for the bus to pick me up while listening to Echo. The song nearly put me to sleep, especially the end where Mike is strumming the guitar. I'm drifting off to the sound of Brandon humming and the guitar strumming. There's a slight silence and then, BOOM!! Have You Ever? 😱 Woke me up, for sure lol
Love to see Incubus reactions! They’re so underrated and they’re one of the most musically talented and diverse bands. My favorites from this are nice to know you and wish you were here. Definitely listen to a crow left of the murder album. They’re sound is different on that one and it has one of their best songs sick sad little world
Yes Incubus are such a talented band, and this record was an absolutely beautiful experience to hear. I'll definitely have to do a reaction for A Crow Left of the Murder as well.
My 22 year old daughter was born at this time ❤it's a perfect album
Love this album (though Make Yourself will always be my favorite by them).
I recommend check out their debut Fungus Amongus at some point. It’s funky as hell.
Somebody posted the full album on CZcams, but it’s not on Spotify which is annoying so I'm not sure if you'll be able to do a video on it. Otherwise, the next album in their discography is "A Crow Left of the Murder..."
For sure, I'd love to get to Fungus Amongus at some point too and hear how they started out. And definitely A Crow Left of the Murder, I'm excited to hear it!
I know I’ve mentioned them before a while ago but you should react to the discography of the Scottish alternative rock band Biffy Clyro. They’ve reinvented their sound a few times throughout their career and no album sounds exactly like any other in their catalogue
Yeah I think I remember you mentioning them before. I'd love to check them out! I have them on my list and I'll have to try and get to a reaction in the future :)
@@mollyesanborn Awesome. They very much fly under the radar in the states. If you know what I mean.
Biffy please!
@@mollyesanborn First thee albums for sure, pretty much all rippers! Everything after started to become a little more radio friendly and less 'jagged' though. Mon the Biff!
They just released a reimagined version of this album it’s pretty good you should give it a listen.
Oh really? I'll have to check it out, thanks for letting me know.
my favorite band and my favorite album, it takes me back to my time in high school, how quickly time passes
Yessssssss was very curious what your reaction to this album would be ... Makes me wish I could go back and hear it for the first time again.
Another band I think would be interesting to see you react to is 311.
I'll make sure that 311 is on my list, thanks for the suggestion :)
damn... blood on the ground is a fking crazy song haha. so much energy
This album brings me back to the early 2000’s. As someone that enjoys a mix between catchy, heavy, melodic and progressive, this album was to my liking. My band at the time covered 2 songs off of this album & we briefly invited a DJ to play with us. Although less with me as an individual, Incubus definitely influenced the musicians I used to collab with.
Fun fact: The original video for Wish You Were Here had to be completely altered, because a portion of it showed the band jumping off a bridge to escape a mob of ravenous fans, but considering the social climate in the US immediately following 9/11, those parts of the video were cut, in favor of glamour shots of the band playing among satiny white sheets.
This album was re-imagined and re-recorded by the band in 2023 and was let out into the wild recently.
You should definitely check it out once you are familiar with the album. It now has a grace and maturity granted by the 23 year gap between releases and the changes are noticeable enough, whilst not damaging, to make it something new.
Quite often the concept of recording an album again many years later fails to add anything but I really think that Incubus nailed it with this one, it is equally as good & stands as strong as the original.
A few others have been mentioning the re-release as well, I'll definitely have to give it a listen at some point and see how it compares with the original.
This is my favorite album of theirs. Its just got an amazing vibe to it. Likt floating on a breeze blowing over a beach. Every song on this album is incredible.
Yep, absolutely no skips on this album. Every track brings something special to it, and its so cohesive as well. Like you said it flows beautifully.
Loved your reaction to this album, glad you enjoyed it, it's one of my favourite albums
Thanks for watching! Such a beautiful album, I can see why it's a favorite of yours.
God I love this album, and early incubus in general… thanks again for picking the best albums to react to Molly!
Such a fantastic record, I'm so glad I finally got around to hearing this one. Thanks for taking the time to check out the reaction! :)
Wow. Excited to watch this one!
Thanks for watching, hope ya enjoy it! :)
Hope you can do “a crow left of the murder” next. It was a experimental one but great
Thanks for doing this, I appreciate your imput and Im glad that I saw this when I did. I immediately thought to myself, "I can't wait to see if she's done Make Yourself and what she thinks of that one." Now I have to go check that video out. I love this album. It means alot to me and brings me right back to a place in time when it was first released, but Make Yourself is what got me into them and my favorite by them. Make Yourself reminds me of Senior year in high school and Morning View reminds me of later in the year when I started going to Umass Amherst.
Thanks so much for watching! I've really loved all three Incubus albums that I've heard so far, I honestly can't pick a favorite at the moment. They're such a talented band and really have crafted a beautiful sound for themselves, and I look forward to hearing more music from them.
That sound that you said sounds like Incubus is the guitar with a main effect on it called a Phaser. They use it a lot.
They did a nice live set with this album in TV quality called Morning View Sessions. It's worth checking out.
Just a little FYI this is Incubus' last album with Alex Kutunich (better known by his nickname "DIrk Lance") as the bassist, a guy named Ben Kenny plays bass on every following album, so if the bass sounds different, that's probably why.
Ahh, thanks for letting me know! I'll have to see if I notice that difference on the following albums in their discography.
@@mollyesanborn i love Dirk Lance's work, but Ben K. is on another level entirely. He also has an amazing voice in his own rights. His backups, harmonies and fill-in work for Brandon just can't be replaced. You can really tell on footage of their live concerts in the Ben K era.
Great timing as they just released the re-recorded version of this album this year!
I'll have to give the re-recorded version a listen as well!
Yes, finally! Love this album so much
Thanks for waiting! Yeah this album is beautiful, I'm so glad I've finally heard it.
Hey Molly, great review! This is probably ties with SCIENCE for my favourite Incubus album, also probably their most accessible.
It's pretty gratitfying to see the number of smiles this band generates. For me, Incubus was one of the more interesting and innovative bands of the early 2000s.
"How does it feel like you're in outer space and underwater at the same time?" This was also my experience. Incubus had/has some absolutely amazing studio crew for every single album they put out.
Incubus is like a modern-day funk-metal Pink Floyd; they made such excellent use of sound and studio, and musically did things that no one else was doing at the time (and still aren't).
Great comment! One thing I absolutely love about Incubus is they have a fantastic way of fusing punchy rock elements with a beautiful warmth and joy to their music as well. There's something so comforting about this album, and that's rare in rock/metal music. Very unique band in that sense, they've definitely carved out a sound that works so well for them and I look forward to hearing more albums from them.
I think S.C.I.E.N.C.E will always be my personal favorite Incubus album but this one is their best one objectively.
You can really hear how they were a more "mature" band in terms of how they structured and implemented textures into their music. It definitely feels in flow with the front cover and always gives me this feeling of hope and joy. It always takes me back to those early 2000's. The way it was conceived adds a lot the final work too.
Speaking of the guitar tone, Mike is playing the whole album on the neck pickup of his guitar, which being further away from the bridge gives you a more bassy, rounded, fuzzy sound with distortion, thats the key to this overall sound, very unique. It is really common to play with a distorted tone on the bridge pickup (you can hear that on their previous albums) to play rythm guitars but again, not the case here.
Make Yourself, this work and their next 2 albums after Morning view are a must if you like alternative rock.
Thank you for the pickup details!
S.C.I.E.N.C.E is such a great album too, perhaps a bit more wild and experimental with its sound whereas Morning View is a bit more centered, as you put it they definitely developed a more mature tone with this record. Both absolutely amazing albums! Thanks for explaining his playing technique too, that's really interesting. I LOVE that guitar tone. Such a gorgeous record and I am looking forward to hearing more of their discography.
Haven't heard this in ages- takes me right back to that time
Such a great album, thanks for watching! :)
The Chinese instrument played in Aqueous Transmission is called PEEPA, it was a gift from Steve Vai to Mike Einziger
Thanks for letting me know! I love the sound of it.
Me encantó escucharlo ❤️
It's a really nice album that Incubus came out with very relaxing. My favorite track on the album is Warning. Though this album is great! A must listen to if you really enjoy Incubus.
Warning is one of my favorites as well! And yes, very relaxing, I absolutely love the atmosphere they created with this record.
@@mollyesanborn It reminds me of Parachutes by Coldplay a little bit, with it's delivery (a must listen to if you haven't heard of it, you're welcome).
Got it on day of release and still love it too this day. Anyone of the songs on it at anystage are my favourite, but usually id go for Aqueous Transmission
So many good tracks on this album, it's hard to pick a favorite! Aqueous Transmission is for sure a standout though, very different but so relaxing and a great way to end the album.
Morning View was my last Incubus album that I bought when it came out. Starting with the following release, I kind of got away from them because I was getting into much heavier music, and so I didn't revisit them until Light Grenades.
As for Morning View, I enjoyed how some of the songs were kind of reminiscent of Make Yourself, but also played to the future direction that the band would end up taking. I always come back to 11Am, Warning, and Under My Umbrella, as though not to say that the "big singles" weren't good, I just liked some of the deeper cuts better.
Another wonderful video, Molly, cannot wait to see what you listen to next!
Incredible that you picked up on the water theme. It took me several listens to get that.. you got it right off the bat
Also, coheed, please!
I'm going to come out of left field with an album you may have never been suggested, but immediately came to mind after hearing this again for the first time in years: "Dig" by the band I Mother Earth. I used to love that album as well...
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll make sure it's on my list.
Absolutely stunning album, always makes my mood.
Such a beautiful record, Incubus really developed a fantastic tone that works so well for them.
@@mollyesanborn Also Make Yourself album drops me to absolute euphory.
I love your content, greetings from Perú!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you're enjoying the videos :)
Just a phase + A rainy day = Perfect
Incredible album. My first experience with mushrooms we listened to this record. Just a Phase is still my all time favorite by them.
I just know if the band ever saw this video, they would love the metaphors you make for how you feel the songs sound!
Aw thanks, I really appreciate that! I'd be honored if the band ever saw this, it's such a beautiful record and it was a joy to listen to it.
sweet i'm gonna re-experience this album with you.
My wife and I saw Incubus on this tour (I've seen them a few times) but it was before we ever met. We still talk about the "Aqueous Transmissions" ending to the show. Great album!
Such a relaxing album. My fav album of theirs. Crow is 2nd.
I always imagined California surfers listening to this stuff when i was in college back in 2003. Funny the things we make up in our own minds. Has a little green day feel to it to me without the pop punky aspects.
Yeah, there is such a calm vibe to this record. I love how Incubus can fuse that relaxing quality with such a rock/metal punchiness, they're masters at it! I'll definitely have to give A Crow Left of the Murder a listen as well.
A classic of my adolescence. They never topped this and Make Yourself IMO, but A Crow Left of the Murder is worth a listen. Still waiting on you to get to The Black Queen!
I'll definitely do a video for A Crow Left of the Murder as well! And I have not forgotten about The Black Queen, can't wait to check them out :)
Finally you react to this album
Yes Morning View is such a beautiful record! So glad I've finally heard it. Thanks for being patient with waiting :)
Helmet, Meantime. Cant wait 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Soon, very soon... I have it filmed ;)
@@mollyesanborn Meantime is not a bad place to start with HELMET, but the album Betty is gd amazing.

Hi Molly!!!! 🥰🥰 You’re amazing
Thanks! :)
@@mollyesanbornAhhhh I always get so happy when you upload and reply to my comments ☺️ prettiest queen on CZcams by far 😊
My summer album some years back. So much variety on this album
Yes, amazing variety! It's such a beautifully cohesive album yet there are so many elements that they fuse together on this project.
Ahhh, such a classic 😊
Yes this album is great! Thanks for watching :)
The effect on the guitar you pointed out on " Blood On the Ground " is called a phaser. Do a CZcams search for " phaser pedal demo " for more information
Thank you!
Finally!!
Yeah I'm so glad I finally got to this album! Thanks for being patient, hope you enjoyed the reaction :)
One of my favourite summer albums ☀
Yeah this album is great, so warm and rich with its tone.
Such an absolute classic. Incubus created something truly special here. If I could put a song in a museum, it'd be Aqueous Transmission. Gorgeous piece.
Whenever you're looking to listen to some slightly different stuff, Dance Gavin Dance is a really cool band if you don't mind "unclean" vocals (screaming/growling/yelling). Downtown Battle Mountain is their first album and a great jumping off point. They get really technical with their instruments and their vocalists are all super talented
Yes, Aqueous Transmission is such a gorgeous song to end this album with. I've heard a bit of Dance Gavin Dance's music but I'm not very familiar with their whole discography, I'll definitely have to dive into them some more!
a good one Molly. I didn't get into Incubus until years after this album. i know there's a lot of Incubus fans that feel like they sold out or whatever but you know, not every band or person can stay 19 and rebellious their whole lives. people get older and feel differently and it comes out in the music.
Absolutely, bands change and evolve their sound over time and this was such a great addition to their discography. Incubus achieved such a mature sound on this record, a blend of everything that they do so well, and amazing production as well!
Maybe one day you can make a video of your top ten albums you've reacted to. That would be cool!
I've actually thought about doing a ranking video for all of the albums that I've done a reaction for on the channel. That would be a loooong video and very difficult to narrow down my top albums but would be a lot of fun! I'll have to keep it in mind for a future video :)
Echo and Aqueous Transmission are my favorites!
Both such amazing tracks! Aqueous Transmission is a great closer to this record, such a beautiful vibrancy to its tone.
Love this album and reaction, any chances you'd ever do an Acid Bath reaction? more specifically the album When The Kite String Pops
Yes, I'll absolutely get to Acid Bath! I've had When The Kite String Pops on my list of albums to check out for way too long now, I'll try and do a reaction for it soon :)
Amazing album
I agree, so glad I've finally heard it!
