- How to crochet a round yolk fo a baby dress. This easy to follow tutorial will show you how I make the round yolk for a dress. With this yolk, you can add any pattern for the skirt. To make a smaller size use a premie size uk 3.5mm hook. To make 0 3 months use a 4.5mm hook for every 3 month increments go UP one hook size. you can also
Make it bigger add extra stitches in sets of 18 and divide them as follows 3 to each armhole, 3 to each half of the back and 6 to the front. If you want a fuller skirt, add as many stitches as you need to the waistline AFTER you have joined the armholes. - Jak na to + styl

Thank you very much for the tutorial.👍 I was just looking for something like that.
And I love you accent 😉
You’re welcome 😊
This is exactly what I am looking for 🥰
glad to be of help
Your an amazing 😉 teacher.
Thank you! 😃
thank you Alison your abrillant teacher I love all your videos simply fab x Merry xmas
I hope you have a lovely Christmas too, Sharon xx
Sorry I am not good at math but I figured this out on my own 😂 you are a good teacher
i was the same, Marlene for the bigger sizes sometimes we just have to work it out when its, in front of us. Folding it in half and just judging the arm holes is what I do too.
Love the accent and video sounds just like me lol, easy and clear instructions vocal and written 👌
Hi, Maggie ( I have a sister called Maggie too) glad you like the blanket thank you for watching, are you from Scotland too

Thank you for sharing,
Just made a sample.. easy n simple . Thank you
You're welcome 😊
I just subscribed. I enjoyed making the bodice with you. Very nice teaching.you made it so easy. Thanks so much. Now I want to make the shell bottom. Will you show me that too
This video was for the top only you can add any bottom you like to it. I will try and slot some bottoms in as I have just had a yarn deivery but have a schedual to try and keep to. So I will try and do some dresses xx
Love you your tutorials, but when you make the bigger sizes, and have the increase rows, if one does it the same as the small size it gets to big.
I would love to have the correct pattern for the sizes so that one can do the skirt any pattern
Thank you. You did great. God Bless.
Thank you, Once you make a few of these you will be able to judge the arm hole sizes for bigger tops. A lot of the banket patterns can be put on these ylks for the bottom of a dress.
Beautiful
Thank you xx
If you measure the circumference of the upper arm you can measure when you get close to the arm hole jtgen put the pieces together and measure one piece then double that measurement to see if it fits the arm
great info for others thank you xx
Hi Alison what size yarn did you use thanks in advance
Thank you for your help how to crochet
You are welcome 😊
Thank you👍
Thank you too
Thank you so much. Best crochet video I've seen that's so easy to follow. Please keep it up.
Superb....mam.🙏
thank you
Hi Alison lovely tutorial. How many stitches are used for the skirt please? Trying to work multiples for stitch pattern.
you can add as many as you need for the pattern you choose
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel how do you go about doing the bottom?
could you please do ababy cardigan or mattine coat and booties I would appreciate that very much many thanks for all your excellent videos it is so kind of you to share your work
I could but they take a long while to video and edit. I have recently been working on a new blanket bonnet and dress. I could try videoing the cardigan I am going to make for the set too. I will give it a try, Sharon xx
What type of yarn was used
hi alison , did you do a video for the shell stitch dress part xx
no i did this as my sister wanted to add lots of different dress parts and needed to know how to do a basic top yolk.
Thanks Allison this is very helpful. I need to make a robe for my 18mo old granddaughter. Could this work for that? How many chains should I start with for a 24mo size yoke?
OK, Here is what I do, I will try to explain. The easiest way is to measure around a dress you already have that fits her. Make a chain and hold it loosely around the neck of a dress or top that fits her. This should work out well. Follow the increasing as on this video. Hold your yolk up against the dress you're using as a template once it looks big enough put a marker in at the armhole joint area this should give you the correct place to join the armhole sections. Just make sure you count the same amount of stitches for each armhole. I hope you understand what I mean. This is what I do, I use a dress as a template for the size.
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel Thank you Alison this makes perfect sense and is so easy. Thank you so much for the reply. I pray you have a very Merry Christmas. 👼❄🎅🌲🤶☃️Wishing you much love💗 Many blessings 🙏 and Happy Crocheting 🧶😁🧶 Good luck everyone.
Nice guide mam thank you so much
Most welcome 😊
Greetings Ms Alison, I am Belinda. I like this cresent shape yolk. With a wider neckline, how would I continue this crochet cresent shape, to make a top, keeping the "curved" cresent shape all the way down to the bottom edge of the top!? I think that would be awesome. Thank you!
Great idea, Belinda just continue the increase each row with more and more stitches in between the increase as in 5 treble crochet then increase the next row will be 6 treble crochet then increase and so on.
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
Well thank you very much Ms Alison. I should just follow your instructions for the yolk and keep doing the increases as I go...? Sounds easy enough. I'd like the top to slip over my head. Will you create a top like I imagined and make a video on how to make a top like this? I can send you a picture I found of what I have in mind. In the meantime, I will finsih working on the Mesh Blanket stitch! Cheers and Thank
You so much for all your help and advice.
I need a pattern for a one year old baby. Can you please help me. I am actually making shortcake baby dress
try this one if you use my lullaby stitch i think it will make a beautiful dress czcams.com/video/3m5BvHI5-IQ/video.html
Hi, i want to make a dress for 7months old baby,, how many chain i need to add? Thank you
I would add 20 you will have to fiddle with the count for the arm holes, make your yolk it will look like a doughnut fold it in half with the split to the back and count in on both sides an even number which will look ok for arm holes and mark the spot front and back so when you do the body part do 3 extra chains at the armhole when you do the body part. Thats a rough guess I just did a newborn size ( I don't have any small babies in my family to make them bigger) there are a few other youtube videos with larger sizes of dress if you look on youtube.
hai how are u. u teach us very nicely alison i tried your pink colour blanket. thank u Alison from where r u i'm from sri lanka. i"m request u please can u teach us a ovel shape blanket
Thank you so much 😀 I plan to do a few oval shapes, I have round blankets on my channel but no oval ones.
Hi Allison can you tell me if you have to do more rows for the bigger size please thank you
You don't have to. The quickest way I made this bigger was to use a bigger hook one and a half size bigger will move it up in age by 6 months and it still looks lovely and lighter too.
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel Thank you Alison your work is lovely i am learning so much Xx
Wonderful work, what size is this in the video please?
would fit 3 to 6 months
thank you!!! hook size
Allisom what size is the 50 chains for? Love u videos! Viv from Renfrewshire xxx
3 to 6 months, you can make it bigger simply by using 1 size larger hook. to fit 6 to 12month
Hi, what size is this? Can I follow this exact pattern for a new born baby?? Or is this for toddlers?
I've just done this pattern but I'm thinking it will be to small for my granddaughter she has just turned years old. What do I need to make it to fit her. And help would be most grateful. Thank you for your lovely videos as it helps me do crochet. 🌹❤
Alison do you have a size for a 4/5 years old please... or do I still increase on every other row... please help thank you. 🌹
Can you put the dress pattern on which follows the yolk please thanks
thank you
Hi there:Could you help me with stitches for a 1 to 2 year old please.
i would try doubling it
Please tel with how many chains I should start for 4 years girl
i have not done one that big try doing 3 times the the original chain about that should come out big enough.
Hi do you have written instruction? It would be easier to follow.. thank you.
No, sorry
If I have 120 stitches how do I divide it please
Can I buy paper pateren. This is just what I'm lookin for. 😘
three month baby dress how much chains start
same as the video it turns out to fit 3 months.
Being a beginner what confuses me is which hook size to which yarn. In Australia we go by ply mainly and most baby knitting is in 4ply. I saw in a response to someone else you said any yarn will work but how do you know what hook to use?
I know your talking crochet but knitting is what I am used to which is why I referred to it
will the hook size not be on the label too? even if it just refers to knitting needle size use the same size in a hook as the shaft of hooks and knitting needles is the same so a UK 5mm hook shaft is the same thickness as 5mm knitting needles if you know what I mean.
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel Thankyou so much Alison. I am so very sorry for the late response I only just found this response. I totally understand what you are saying and it makes so much sense. In Australia they only ever seem to put knitting needle size so this information is great. Thankyou
What size baby will this fit please
0 to 3 months
How do you start doing the bottom? Just keep going round?
I did this as a lot of people wanted to know hoe to do the top then add there own stitch pattern to the bottom for the skirt.
What size yoke is this for.
3 to 4 months
Can this fit a 4-6month baby
No you will need to add 10 more to the chain, and add 3 each at the arm holes to the number of armhole stitches. to make them bigger.
I have watched the video several times but the pattern is done with double crochet not treble crochet. Kindly advice
in the UK its called a treble crochet. In the USA the same stitch is called a double crochet
For 1year baby how much yarn we need how many chain
at least 1 ball to make the yolk then you add the skirt any stitch you like do 4 extra rounds for a 1 year old.
I have 3 ply yarn,if i use hook 4 how many chains do i need and how much cm should it turn out? i'm so confused please help me
Cherelles, if you follow the video with your 4 hook and yarn it should work with most yarns, you will see right away how big it will turn out, if its too small go up 1 size of hook.
What size will this fit
Ur mom 😎👌
What size is this? Thankss
0-3 months use a bigger hook and you will get a 3-6 month size
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel how bout for 9-12months???
