    I started exploring tutorial videos before I wanted to do it all by myself. This video is greatest among others on CZcams. Very detailed info,it took me 4 hours to change it. It’s because I’m not a mechanic but I’m glad and thankful to this man who saved my money and I build a confidence too. Thank you for this great video. ❤

    Great, video! My mom's 2014 sonata needs the hybrid battery replaced. Where can I get a reliable hybrid battery as a replacement? The dealership wants to charge $8,000+ and I was told getting a hybrid battery at a junk yard is a hit or miss because there is no way to test how good the battery is. Any tips or resources is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

      There are a few options here is an ebay link.
      ebay.us/mEymrL
      Here is a link to a few remans with warranty.
      www.greentecauto.com/product-tag/hyundai-sonata-2011-2015
      Either of these options are far cheaper than the dealership. Me personally I would go with the used ebay hybrid battery. The price is a bargain with the miles listed. Also if it does not work , you have 30 days money back guarantee. Thanks for the feedback.

    My 2015 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited, the "Ready" light flickers from time to time. It'll turn off for as low as half a second to as high of 3 seconds and then will continue to drive. My acceleration struggles as well. Would all of this be Hybrid Battery related?
    I replaced the fuse about a year ago because my car shut down going down the freeway. I am thinking about doing the power relay assembly. Would it be better to do the relay to start or just do the whole battery?

      I had that symptom that started 'every now and then' which progressed to can't drive more than 2-3min without flashing hybrid warning-do not drive. I got to this video after watching a video on replacing power relay and safety plug. I did that, but it did not work for me, so went with a used battery off eBay. Used this video as a guide for the process! THANK YOU! But... after replaced and driving nice, I got P1A6F code that would not go away (solid yellow wrench light). I kept clearing and hoping would reset. I tried two different BCM, so now it's at the dealer. I know I see used BCM all over eBay, but couldn't find an answer on if they needed programming for your particular car. Dealer told me if used doesn't work, then you need a new one that's programmed to the car. (I'm skeptical!) Of course I know it's a little bit of a gamble when you buy used battery, so it's possible that the issue is the battery.

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  Před 2 lety +2

      As long as the hybrid battery is ruled out, it is most likely going to be the generator/electric motor.( part sandwiched between engine & tran) However you need to rule out the battery management system as well as make sure all wire and connections are good. Caution when working on these always remove the fuse from the hybrid battery as I am sure you already know . ( produces 270 volts) Hope you get the issue resolved soon. Thanks for the feedback.

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  Před 2 lety +1

      The battery was ruined when I purchased the car already. Basically what you might get is a low hybrid warning and failure to charge. It could however be caused by other issues with the battery management system, but most likely failing battery. Thanks for watching.

    Looking at getting a 2015 sonata hybrid with 115k miles owners only second owner says car has been great with the 55k miles they put on it haven't noticed any issues. Is it something worth getting they asking 8500k for it. Even called Hyundai dealership asking life of the battery couldn't really give me a time frame other than 5 to 15 years. And that you can drive the car even if the hybrid battery goes out.

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  Před rokem

      If you do a lot of city driving they are nice. They do pretty well hwy also but the there is no comparison with non hybrid mpg city. They have their issues like most cars but the main areas focus around the hyrbid battery and the battery managent system. Seems like if those are doing well so is everything else. Another big note , I would have all hoses and especially hose fittings replaced these are problem areas , and big cause of engine failures. Best of luck on whatever you decide and thanks for watching.

      You will have to scroll through , I actually test drive it at the end. This car turned out to be a little more involved than I thought , motor was no good. Hybrid battery is performing awesome though. 7000 is outrageous, I know there is labor involved but I could replace the electric motor , battery management , and hybrid battery for less . Most likely you just need the battery replaced . You can get a used for price in video or get a reman with warranty for 1400. Now unless there is an issue with your charging system it should be pretty straight forward. As far as replacing the hybrid battery it is pretty simple. Hope this helps.

      I got mine from ebay , so far it is working perfectly. It was half the cost of a reman one which were running around 1400 and up. If you want a 3 year warranty however the reman is the way to go. I got a standard 3 month warranty with this one from ebay. These batteries are not very difficult to replace and definitely save a lot of money. Thanks for watching.

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  Před 2 lety +2

      If your car is working then the fuse is most likely good. It will start throwing codes and wont allow you to drive when it goes bad. You can remove it easily and safely just by lifting the safety tab and pulling up. Anytime you work under the hood it is a good idea to remove the fuse also. I keep a spare fuse just in case , of an issue for mine. Thank you for the feedback.
