it's so funny to see you in my neck of the woods, I am an old man now but when I was 12 we had bikes like those only really geared for the mountain, 188:1, climb anything and still run up and down the road, 2 speed trans, no clutch, no suspension, I drove one 110 miles across the southern Utah wilderness in 2 days.... lol...
Deserthunter Mike awesome story. I love these type of testimonies. Ty for sharing 👍
that's badass dude!
Deserthunter Mike yeah those old 2 speed goats, romco or ronko or some such name, dont remember. Tractors.
thats really cool mike
as an addendum: A Co. called Tote Goat" supplied about 40 machines for the Explorer Scouts to ride on the trip, They supplied several photographers for the trip since the article was going to be in a magazine called "Boys Life". Talk about piss poor planning, nobody brought extra tires, people showed up with steel gas cans to carry the fuel for the trip, after 15 or 20 miles the steel cans would rub through from the vibration of the machine (Briggs and Straton 4.5 hp). One fellow was so terrified he held his legs in against the gas tank, they had to fly him out by Army Bird Dog plane, lol... My father and I were the only ones to have different machines with the 2spd transmission and (6.5hp Briggs engines). Each person was to bring his own food, gas, clothes, and sleeping bags, things like sunscreen lotion and mosquito repellant, just the basics, again, lol... The National Guard had supplied the Army Bird Dog plane, which promptly took all the sleeping bags and food and dropped them at the 1/2 way point, a big no-no... No one made it to the halfway point by dark. The machines didn't have lights... A couple of the really unruly kids took off in the dark to look for the bags and food, they promptly got lost and ran out to fuel. By this time Dad and I couldn't stop laughing, we slept warm in our bags after dinner, which was good, did I say we kept our supplies... Those lost kids walked back into camp the next morning, funny thing they were so humble and no problem from then on. One fellow blew a tire, he was the fellow they flew out. We finished the trip, I'm not sure the article was in Boys Life, I was told a number of times to get off the top of the hill, the "Blazer" I was driving was made by a competing company. Dad and I had a wonderful time, I'm not sure about some of the others... Did, I tell you that Dad grew up as a trapper before going to college and how smart he was when it came to surviving in the great outdoors, I miss him very much...
My name is Shaun, I stumbled across your video's and I never considered owning a Mini Bike or a Go Kart until now. You guys have so much fun and I love it. Please continue making awesome videos so older guys like myself can continue to enjoy life!
I can’t wait for Christmas. I got my son the mm 80. It’s his first motorized bike. He’s only 8 and weighs 58 pounds. Hopefully it’s enough brrrapppp for him!
Glad you guys had a fun day. We used to call such riding as "fireroading", referring to riding unsmoothed fire breaks on a good dirt bike, such as the old Bultacos. Can imagine what the altitude was like for you guys living where you do. While I was raised at 4300 feet and spent a lot of time above 9000, I lived for about 10 years at sea level. Thought I was in good shape. Was riding a 10 speed over 100 miles every week. Then I went back to 4300 feet. First hill on first bike ride I discovered what oxygen starvation felt like. Wasn't out of breath... my muscles just burned from lack of oxygen.
fantastic ride. too bad for all of that beetle kill in the trees there. same thing happened near my dads place in wyoming, they had a big fire there because of it.
that 420 seems to be about the perfect size motor for a mountain trail bike, it just pushed through everything with ease, even with the added cargo
may have been near as good with the 300 sumthin cc engine too, idk their price points, may be worth it to just go the 420 size, unless the 300+ is a lot easier bolt in (like no welding etc).
Nothing like enjoying the peace and quiet of nature on noisy mini bikes.
Added to bucket list lol
Shoulda had someone on a quad or something with a trailer with all the parts you would need to do a trail repair
dirtshower250 or they could, just put it in the trailer lol
We always bring an 4 wheeler when we ride minis
Or a SxS if you have a very large group.
Could have done nice camera work from an atv
Good job guys great edit! I wouldnt completely get away from the in shop videos. I definitely liked this for a looking back type edit. You're productions are getting much better! Insane the depth the music adds to the video.
when nature calls ................2 seats ...... "no waiting" ......... nice. thanks for the vid guys
You guy make me want to ride so much when I watch your vids. Looks like it was a blast. Can't wait to open up my 450r honda this weekend. Keep up the awesome videos guys!!!
Editing was on point for this, 5 stars... I see more mountain off road adventures in the future. Can't beat the mountains
on this day you found your forgotten friend :locktite
This format worked well with this kind of video. It's quite a deviation of footage and whatnot from your typical videos, but I really enjoyed it just the same.
Great vid!
Awesome guys! I love the beautiful scenery, neat shots with the drone!
I think this is honestly your best video yet. I'm sending the link to a life long friend, with the suggestion we do a similar trip. Nice job guys.
thanks
@@isaacitllbefine7231 I agree, keep these types of videos coming.
I like this style for special videos, such as trips or rides. Looks like y'all had a blast!
Great video ya'll! It's awesome to watch your guy's production and video quality go higher and higher! I really like the way you guys are headed, and you guys are having fun all at the same time! Keep up the good work!
Mini bikes must have suspensions,, oh the pain.
jimmy meyer I used to have one with suspension.. a manco with 3.5 or 5hp Tecumseh
Some of them do and some dont
The Trailmaster MB200 is the best mini bike for that reason, Just pricey.
Frfr
Only have front suspension on mine its ok
Man, super jealous. Thank you guys for the awesome vids. You have sparked up the remembrance of when I was younger tearing up the countryside on my Rupp. I'm passing that passion to my kids. Thanks again and keep it up.
Great video guys!! Love the drone footage and the music.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this video!!! Yes I know I repeated myself but that's how much I loved it. What a fun trip and the drone footage was epic!!! More offroad Wednesdays please!!!
That down hill racing was sweet. And the music was perfect . Cool video guys.
Did you guys catch any of the Chipmunks?
who of you guys drums ?
I thought the editing was fine....oh btw, the new trike needs to be a drag trike, you already have a drift trike, just saying. :)
I (John) did a little bit back in high school, but I'm primarily a guitarist. The kit belongs to my dad, he played his way through college. It's a slingerland, early 70s
CarsandCameras can you do drift trike Friday's. I miss the fresh builds
cool
...its cool to see 2 best friends getting to enjoy life together like you guys do.... cool projects ....and great times... ...oh btw .. put the Ducati on the rail
This was one excellent fully enjoyable crazy video!!! Wuuuuuuuuuudoggie!!!
Thanks for sharing an awesome view
Man you guys really raised the bar on your editing for this one....great job!
locktight boys locktight
CrashTestFetus it'll be fine
lol. yea
Isaac it'll be fine a 15-20 mile shakedown ride before the trip would have been a really good idea. TC shaft mishap, under geared, over geared (wouldn't climb), and that hard tail CT = ouch of course!
got an idea in mind for that last one... whip up a springer seat for it!! like a door hinge in front, couple bolts and valve springs in back using stock seat could take a lot of hammering away from your butt and spine, might be a real easy-do. it also might make for an easy bolt on aftermarket kit to sell for them. 1.5" taller at the rear of the seat isn't going to be uncomfortable or bad looking. front might be 1/2 taller because of door hinge in there anyway. just don't forget me if you sell thousands of the mofoz allright! seriously, that might be a mod near everyone would want to have, like yesterday.
That's a fantastic trip out guys, I'm really jealous.
we have those two-seater outhouses over here, they're called 'Conversationals', they weren't as prudish in the olden days :-)
YES, ONE OF YOUR BETTER VIDEOS. the added DRONE FOOTAGE and well shown mini bike comparing were great, I learned a lot. Keep flying the DRONE even at home.
I really like that down Hill part, but remember you got a dress for the slide not the ride. Great video guys! Loved every second of it the whole kitten Kaboodle.
It's nice to see other North Carolina guys enjoying Colorado.
Right on. Love the trail master also.
Great video segment... Beautiful scenery!!! I like more challenging trails than the groomed wide paths here... But that trip through that grassy meadow was a real nice segment, and a good test of the feasability of the performance improvements on these machines. It was an excellent video of how this various equipment does in areas like this... The way to go is the 420 engine ,series 40 torque converter, and a minibike with a decent suspension system and decent sized wheels... I bet that a souped-up 212 Predator with a torque converter, proper gearing and decent suspended frame and good sized wheels would do well on a ride like this also... I really like bikes with front brakes, especially on challenging down-hills...
The editing is great! I like to cut in and out of you two talking about it later one and the back and forth is great! Keep it up!
I like the bike with the big engine! I build my bike last summer but mounted a strocked gx390 engine with a 28mm carb and a real exhaust system. With the torque converter it hits 100kmh fast😊
I've been to gopowersports a few times in the past few weeks, and this last Saturday I went in and saw the CT420 sitting there on the floor. I was pretty excited to see it, it felt like I was looking at a movie prop or something significant. Felt cool in a weird way to see it physically sitting there after the videos I had seen on it haha. Awesome video guys, glad this series came about. Loved the videography this go around.
thanks and im glad you got to see the ct420
It was so funny how ike was just hammering it and he was just poking along lol
Awesome video. It showed me a few things that they will do that surprised me, and it's clear to me now I have to get a mini. Hard to beat a fun day riding with nice weather.
Sweet day of riding.Love the ariel drone shots too.Awesome views.Thnx guys.
I really liked this build and style video. Good Job!
Y'all should go to either the Hatfield and McCoy trails in west Virginia or Brushy mountain
Rode that entire trail system, only took 2yrs to complete. Still have the armbands on my handlebars.
Brushy would eat these mini bikes alive.
Currently building a go kart for the Hatfield & McCoy trail. About a 15 minute drive from it.
Very cool editing style, the drone follow of Ike was awesome too
Man this is cool. Makes me want to buy a mini bike and ride around the desert here in Phoenix Arizona.
same buck, i wanna ride around the terrain here in nogales
And a really good day out ! we should all do this for our general well being or something out doors that's similar, good for the soul. wonder how the 4 engine kart would have done, easy ! thanks for sharing guys !
Great filming! And perfect amount and style of music...
Great video~~editing was superb, do it more often. Kudos!
Awesome video content, y'all! Keep up the awesome work! God bless!
The scenery in this video has me wanting to take another road trip.
I am so ready to get out of NC... (permanently)
This was great! I'd love to see the rest like this.
Amazing footage with the drone!
Lime the video and the editing along with the C@W music, I think the 750 crosscart would be great on trails like this, plenty of power and suspension comfort. Great job guys, looks like a great time was had by all.
I really like the way that this was done. I also like how you guys took Coleman bikes out, I have the ctu200 all stock and it is perfect for trail riding and mudding it also has the perfect amount of speed and torque for me. I have recently been looking at a dirt bike or trail master I will now be looking at the trail master now thanks to you guys.
Dude. Somehow this one slipped under my radar. This editing and story telling is MONEY.
Glad y'all had fun 😃
I liked the way you guys "commentated" the video... good job👍🏼
GUYS!!! KILLER Video Series!!! JUST AWESOME! Couldnt have been better! THIS FORMAT ROCKS!
I only wish I could have been there with you! WOW!!! INCREDIBLE!!! btw... I've got a Baja Warrior like your Coleman CT420EX in Camo....Nice little machine!
Cant say enough about this Colorado trek Video series... Videography, background music, Drone footage, scenery, bike builds, commentary....its got it ALL! A+ guys!
thanks
The editing style is great. It makes me feel like I am riding along with you.
“Idk if termites could breathe up here” haha
You have to love the sheer beauty of Colorado in the summer time but you've got to go in September when the Aspens are changing it's another level of colorful.
I'm jealous. That looks like it was a blast! Tim needs a CT420 as well!
I liked it! It's good to mix up the video styles and format. Keeps it fresh.
Great video. Awesome editing.
Right on guys
I like the drone footage... nice addition.
I've only been watching you guys for about 6 months or so now. Absolutely love the channel. I myself am approaching my later 40's and after watching some of your videos I decided to build a mini. I came a cross a minimoto80 complete minus motor. Picked it up for $30. I seen your video on the 212 swap and had to do it. Ordered everything I needed from go power sports and it turned out great. The max torque clutch is a wheelie machine...lol. I plan on bypassing the governor and doing the stage one build just to see the difference but that's as far as I'm going with that. Really appreciate the info has given me. Maybe I'll get a chance to meet you guys some day to personally thank you. You guys are great and please keep up the get work. Looking forward to building my latest purchase of a Nerf Dog that I'm installing a 420 on. Going to be another great toy. 👍
Love the drone views!!!!
This was a great video guys, I love the style! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Went camping in Wyoming a couple of times at that elevation. My youth didn't mean anything to the thin air. Really felt it climbing to our camp site. Absolutely stunning views, and no air in the way of seeing it! Plus side: did some successful Brook Trout fishing enroute.
Your editing is great. Good job John 👍🏻
Nailed it with the music 🎶 on the downhill race 🏁 I was smiling ear to ear haha ! Off road Wednesday's was the icing on the cake , can't wait to see it , thanks for the uploads guys 🙏🏻
thanks for watching
I love this editing style! It feels so much informative.
Camhin1 I
That was an awesome video!
Love the videos guys keep them coming!!👍👍👍👍
I liked it. Great video. Thought it told a great story about the trip.
new style roadtrip video is perfect :D really enjoyed it
I like the variety of the builds, gives an interesting comparison between all the setups. Cool video!!
Loved the video. Great job editing. Great sense of humor also. It'll be fine.....
I have an Enduro but this looks more fun on a minibike. Beautiful scenery 😍 thanks fellas.
Loved the video guys!
Looked amazing loved how you tested all different bikes an to see you guys having fun
Great video guys!!!!
Just got a Trailmaster MB200-2 last week and so far I love it. IMO best bang for the buck at ~$750 with a stock CVT and dual suspension setup. It really soaks up the bumps and rides super smooth. Planning to do intake and exhaust, re-jet the carb, and maybe upgrade the flywheel. Not sure if I will mess with the sprocket or not. So far it pulls my 200 lb frame just fine. Thanks for the awesome vids, keep them coming!
Great video. Loved it.
Thank you very much, it was nice. Post whichever is easier for you. We're craving for the next one...
Cool Beans,keep it up.
I liked this style this video when you guys went off road. The drone use was cool too! I think for the shop builds though, the old style is great. For your off road specials you guys are going to do, this style is the ticket. P.S. This video is the perfect amount of time to grill up some burgers and eat them too!
nice run and super magnificent places
The aerial shots were awesome.
I like the commentary in the background like this. Prefer to have a bit longer video but still great. Off Road Wedsndays would be awesome!
Loved it made me felt like was there with u all
that looked like a blast
5 minutes down the road and pulled over, because Roadkill
lol. yep
Steve M love roadkill. Motor trend and cars and cameras 😂 awesome
Loved it! Thanks!
Drone shots are the coolest!!
Man that looks like so much fun !
I'm loving these videos. Great editing too I like it a lot with th music and the fade. I also love the build videos. Just great job guys keep up the good work!
Reactionary I agree!!
great video quality is getting better and better
That was great guys, longer than most but very nicely put together, I would suggest you should see the covered bridges of West Virginia if you get a chance to go. My company sent me up there for a week and I made the most of it, most of them are in the upper part of the state but well worth the visit. Beware, some are off the beaten path and we ran across a few dead deer in the middle of the road. Sometime the locals put down to deter tourist beware as you are hauling arse down them back roads.
Dirt road riding is fun but trail riding is the (insert latest hip hop phrase of choice). Looking forward to you both testing a minibike setup for tight trails and steep inclines. Good Luck Guys!
