Also about the intakes, the Dorman intakes are nowhere as good as the factory PI Intake
Yeah. Dorman intakes are garbage. Self tappers into plastic for the fuel rails and injectors lol. Plus terrible airflow. I bought one because I was going to pi head swap my 96 but got a complete 01 bullitt engine and intake instead
Good luck finding a factory PI intake these days, unfortunately...
Lose about 20 hp with the Dorman
@badideafairygarage2258 you can still get them. Ford Performance ones which are the PI design for $350 or so. Should be the same thing.

That intake is gonna cost you 20hp or so. Its been dyno proven. You can drill out the coolant port and add a brass nipple. Thats what I did to mine.

Fun fact: the first day I got my drivers licenses I dragged raced a Silverado and BEAT IT in my 04 dodge ram. 😂
@@yaboykris2118 I procrastinate so bad so I’m 17 and the first time I took drivers ed, I had to restart it because it ask 4 “security questions” and I forgot what I had put for them so it made me restart. So that sucked.

@@yaboykris2118 I took it online and whenever you log in to it it ask a question like “what’s your favorite animal” to make sure it’s you and not someone else trying to do the drivers ed. But taking it made me realize why so many drivers are so shit. Like it was way too easy. But I got it done so yay. I guess😂.
I have yet to do the driving portion but I doubt I’ll have to parallel park

You ain't kidding about the vic crossmember. Those things like to stay where they are lol. My Dad, brother and I started greasing them up before we put them back in, makes it a lot easier the next time.

They make all aluminum intakes for the vic. Little pricey but its worth it. Maybe a future upgrade for ya.
That Vic sounds INSANE. It is a V8, a sleeper, got ac, I would drive it daily, even if it has v.poor fuel economy!
Make sure no coolant or oil is down in the spark plug holes- also the pcv system likes to collapse the rubber grommets.

Thats how it is lol, the daily driver is just whatever car isnt broken
I think 1 or 2 catch cans to take the oil out of the vapors being recirculating back into the intake would get rid of that smoke. It also keep the intake runners clean. Check JLT to see if they have catch cans for that car.
You can disconnect the battery for like 5 minutes and it will reset the intake patterns to relearn with the iac. These 4.6s are indestructable when you take care of them and they sound super good too.
Get rid of that aftermarket intake manifold. Any plastic 4.6 manifold except the ffrp is terrible.
Sounds like a 2v mustang with an off road x pipe and Magnaflow Magnapacks or a straight through muffler. Not a corvette. Maybe an LS1 a little

I told You so! About that intake, The Dorman is Crap just like I said! I have replaced more than a dozen in My shop and they are all the same Crap!
2v burning oil valve guides been driving mine for years that was and haven't been nice to it just keep oil in it

Unpopular intake tip use the 4.6 F150 or E150 intake and put it through the hood been wanting that for mine

The seals leak on those 4.6 motors mine wouldn't pass the smoke test at the smog check . Add some rislon in the oil and it might help . Mine no longer smokes after the rislon.
Dude you make me want a crown vic that thing is SICK !!! And i have 3 foxbodies and a lowerd ranger splash with a v8 in it .. we cant he satisfied with just 1 can we ???
On the flip side you should really look into getting a lift .. i bought a mayflower 4 post lift a few years back and it has ben a life saver .. i hotta pull both side mirrors in on my 88 reg cab long bed f150 and it just fits but it fits and it lifts it up no problem … and it came with casters so i can move it around my shop and it plugs in yo 120v … a lift was a game changer for me i know it would be for you too !!!

Don't you just hate those youg guys with lifts pulling transmissions and complaining. I'm 61 years old and no lift pulled my 3550 on the ground to put in a turbo 400 way bigger and heavier and all my younger friends where to busy to help!
6:54 when you measure from the tip to the base do you measure on the top or bottom of the shaft? I get a longer measurement if I do it from the bottom.
Went threw the same shit with a lincoln that had the 4.6 and my old crown vic and a grand marquis. Its gonna happen again and again until you buy the all aluminum one for the mustang 4.6

The fact that there's a seat back there doesn't mean it can hold people safety, or probably legally. By the same standards you could stuff 3 more in the trunk and call it a people-mover that fits 8.
Intake will cost you about 15-20hps. Dorkman.

The Victor Jr intake is designed for high RPM power mostly so likely would hurt you on the street where this car lives most of the time. That cheap knock off intake is not worth the $100 you paid for it. Guarantee you just lost power. Keep a junk yard look out for a real PI intake someday and swap it out. A better elbow with the stock TB and a Marty Tune will wake it up. Better cams with tune will really wake it up.
And yes- it's always a kia.... Or an altima SUX...
