How Splatoon 3 Players Choose Their Splatfest Teams

- Every month or so in Splatoon, a splatfest is announced which rallies players to choose a side from a selection of teams. In Splatoon 1 and Splatoon 2, there were only 2 splatfest teams that you could choose from but in Splatoon 3 there’s now 3 teams you can choose from. This new splatfest format has opened the way for new types of questions like what’s your favorite type of starter pokemon between grass, fire and water types or the most recent Zelda one being what do you seek between power wisdom, and courage. Some of the splatfest themes have been a swing and a miss but the concept is still very intriguing and is slowly being improved as time goes on. So I wanted to make a skit showing some of the ways Splatoon 3 players choose their teams from following their core beliefs to just choosing whatever their friends do. I went for Team Courage because it's something I've always felt like I need more in my life. Now we're gonna prove that courage is an amazing thing to have by winning this splatfest! (I'll come back to this depending on the results...)

Yeah I feel like I don't need Wisdom because I already have enough of it and too much power can turn you into a monster like gannon.

I feel like Courage is very important, cause what good is Wisdom or Power if you don't have the courage to use it? You could have the Wisdom to know how to gain power, but be too cowardly to go through with your plan
Or if you do have power, you’d eventually flee if someone tries to defeat you, because you’d have no courage to fight the hero 1 on 1
This is the best defense for courage I've heard. But I feel like it can always go both ways, cause what good is Courage if you're not Wise enough to know you're charging into a losing battle. A battle you could've won with enough Power. All of them are necessary honestly.

I choose wisdom because I read it as “gain more of one and lose some of the other two” and between the three wisdom can function the best on its own, with power and courage forming more of a duo where you want equal amounts of both.
I went with team courage because I ride horses and I fallen off before and its very scary to get back on. so courage is definitely my go to.

Backliners actually are insane in turf war. Less experienced players don’t know how to approach them, so all you need is spacing and aim and they just walk into their demise

That doesn’t say a whole lot, their winning streak can end at any moment. I’ve won the last 4 Splatfests (I participated in 5), but I know winning streaks won’t last forever. Best I can do is get to the highest rank to get the max about of Super Sea Snails as possible when the Splatfest ends

This was probably the hardest splatfest (for me) to pick a singular team
perfect, i’m going to analyse every frame of this for lore
(also i chose wisdom for tri-stringer… and to sabotage blucario with my bad luck)

I vote based on all factors apart from idols, i love the zelda ink colours, and in the past i voted for teams i felt were right to the argument, i think ill vote this time based off of friends since i dont play zelda that much

I stan Callie, Pearl and Frye so I'd usually pick their sides in each game. This Splatfest was hard for me to go because I would pick Power but Frye went with Wisdom.
The reasons for the teams at the start are really accurate.

Even though I chose Team Wisdom, I highly dought team wisdom winning due to the past.
I'm like Billy in the sense that I LOVE Chicken. It's my favorite food and I wasn't around for the first Chicken v.s. Egg but when it came back I hopped on team Chicken without a doubt (I agree Eggs obviously came first because Dinosaur eggs existed before chickens) and fought for my favorite foods supremacy (Even though that wasn't even the question). But I always remember that Splatfest because I remember thinking "What if Chicken loses and I have to sit there eating my favorite food crying in shame!" Lol!

Yes, the Pro Splatfest battles should be Ranked Modes.
Splatfest battle open should be Turf War, and Splatfest battle pro should rotate between ranked modes.

I love splatfests! have you read what deep cut say when there talking about there team? i like how they are like "This is my fav team here's why (then) your team is cool but not my pick" and then "wow why are they septet in there first place we need all three" 😅 at least that's what it seems like

i chose courage cuz its hard to doubt someone with confidence and charisma, and id say both of those come from courage. Either way no team is better than the others, so lets just have fun :)

I chose courage based on the fact that I want to have the ability to be brave and do the things I want to do, like learning new languages, breaking off contact with the parents, to not be nervous while traveling to a new location etc.
Courage can also have downfalls, like being too courageous and taking on dangers too big and getting injured from it.
But compared to Power and Wisdom, I currently seek courage the most. I never really cared that much about being in a position of power, but I do like wisdom, so it was a close call between Wisdom and Courage. I ended up choosing Courage because of recent events, plus I never had a huge amount of it for myself, so not being taken advantage of and standing up for myself would feel nice.
team wisdom better give me WISDOM when i do exams or get picked on in class… or else i sue-

I was VERY suprised when nessie won the last splatfest. What is nessie anyway? I chose alien because the universe is VERY big so there has to be life in other places.
the reason I'm going for Team Power is because it's the only one that's really relevant in the context of Splatoon, because you can't strategize, throwing out Wisdom, and it doesn't require any courage to join online matches, therefore only leaving Power left. I'm going to bring power to these battles 🤩💥
if this was some kind of IRL event tho, I would definitely go Courage because it's pretty much the basis for the other two

Hey ya’ll. Imagine a guitar weapon that fired a 3 shot short ranged shockwave with almost brella spread and range on a tap, and a buff to your teammates on a hold.
I was at first choosing my teams for the jokes I would make. Scissors for the edgy puns, and Water because it being ironic that the splatfest that would win would be the element that kills them. But then I started choosing the teams I myself were interested in. But then that'd be turned against me when most times I'd be the only one on a team while my friends were on the other two. But I now choose the team based on my preference. And not the idols because I personally never cared for the idols in the Splatoon games. So it makes it sort of easier
This feels pretty accurate. I usually go for my own opinion or which team has the most of my friends on it

Rock: honestly there was no difference so I was really on team shiver for this one.
Gear: objectively correct. The other teams were basically team die later and die asap.
Water: because Squirtle, mudkip, piplup, popplio, and sobble.
Milk chocolate: yum
Aliens: they are the most likely to actually exist
Wisdom: i just like zelda

The tricolor maps are the most balanced maps in the game. Except for this one. They made Scorch Gorge smaller and less balanced somehow
Hey alpha i got a minigame idea its called fizzy falooza
How it works is that 2 people from each team pick a weopon with fizzy bombs while the rest pick weapon with booya or crab tank
Its a turf war when the fizzy players cant use their main weapon and cant kill anyone only paint
The booya and the crab can kill with ONLY their special but can they still paint to get it
How you win is by how many people the team splats is how many point and by winning the turf war its 5 points

I always pick the team that looks like it's the least popular. Because I hate mirror matches. And it works. I haven't had a single mirror match in Splatoon 3, ever. Not even one.
as someone who chose courage after misreading the prompt, I proceeded to get placed into like 10 rounds where no one on my team would push forward. I felt so stupid for not choosing one of the others after the 3rd game of that.

People are Choosing Teams based off of several things, for starters I bet some of them don’t go by gut but use Popularity as a “advantage” first of all it’s gonna lead to them losing most likely. Like how people underestimate White Chocolate. I won the last 6 of 7 splatfests in a row because I play Smart
I’ve been on Fryes team for every splatfest except for rock v paper v scissors (granted I should have been on gear but still) and I SWEAR IM NOT A FOREHEAD LADY SIMP OK I JUST THINK SHE HAS THE BEST TEAMS!
