- The OG's & I went to Italy to climb Stelvio, Gavia & Mortirolo and watch the Giro d'Italia.
Here's a video of Tijmen & I trying to get as far as possible up the Bormio side of Passo Dello Stelvio, which was magical with the snow!

If it's closed there is a reason, and it's called "Avalanche risk". Lots of reckless tourist are rescued in the mountains

Do the gavia from ponte di legno, stelvio is great but gavia is like wow! I did gavia in 2019 when road closed.but beware gavia is much colder,you need waterproof gloves and many layers,I should have knitted a beanie for my gopro as it died in the cold as did the gps, luckily I didn't! 😆 stelvio is the best the side you did it,much nicer but harder than the supposed harder prato side. Next time I go (I'm in australia) I will be doing the stelvio bike days when they only allow bikes,they also have mortirolo and gavia bike days. Mortirolo is not as steep as zoncolan but harder due to length and altitude.stelvio was my gateway drug to doing heaps of climbs that no amount of money in the world can beat!

You tried Passo Gavia? Great scenery as well. (Btw i live in that area). I went up Stelvio as well a couple of months ago until i found snow on the road and even managed to go up a few hundred meters until it was too deep, next year i want to rent a fat bike with spiked tires and see how much i can go up.... Anyway good to see many foreign tourists coming here enjoying our climbs. If you check the website enjoystelviopark.it you can see the dates when the major climbs are closed to traffic for special events so you can enjoy them in total relax (Stelvio can be busy with motor traffic in summer, especially on weekends).

Normally I love your vids. But passing a closed road is not done. They close them for a good reason. You're putting not only your self at risk, but also the people who might want to save you when a avalanche happens. It's just selfish and bad for cyclist image.

you mean if they needed a permission? Or you always need permission when you use it even in this kind of scenery? I don't own one but planning to. Now i'm curious...
@@jonestizmo1872 yes, you always need a premission, here in slovenia all drone flights with an operating mass above 250 g and kinetic energy
greater than 79 J..so pretty much any drone with camera,
especially in the Triglav National Park, flying with a dron is not allowed, except with a special permit... in any EU countries....
