Btw, this MMA performance was just a Korean Prestigiuous award show and not BTS solo concert. Since 2016 BTS started to turn all their performances like their very own mini concert! Their concept is always unique & the best that you'll never know what to expect and you will just be blown away once you see their entire performances not to mention their extravagant productions! Recently other Kpop groups are also doing the same, but still BTS always give the different high level of performances which is incomparable. Also, about their solo performances, they were all pre recorded since they need to change the stage productions to highlight each member's solo performances aside on Jimin's I NEED U performance, that one is live and not pre recorded since his solo didn't use some stage props but a piece of cloth, lighting effect & of course his breathtaking legendary dancing! Jimin shook the world with that very short performance. A lot of local & International Media raved about it, even many youtubers who have reacted to the performance kept repeating that part, celebrities & the GP talked about it for several days, many were blown away even called it a masterpiece as Jimin showcased his great contemporary skills, he was like a Dance God dancing under the moon with that beautiful lighting effect that added more artistic vibe along with that music instrumental.
Also in 10:37 time stamp, it was Jimin who hit that very high note, Jungkook was also singing along but Jimin sang the higher part. Thank you so much for your amazing reaction!

Parts of this performance were pre-recorded which is why the outfit changes etc were so smooth. This includes the start of persona (first song), mikrokosmos (fourth song which is why it’s edited so well), some of the members solo stages ( I can’t remember which others but I know Jungkooks - dance in water- was recorded) and also the start of Dionysus when they had the horses on the stage because of course it would be too dangerous and scary for the horses to be there live.
Also each members solo stage involved them dancing to a remix of one of there older songs. It started with V dancing to “No more Dream” (2013), then Jin to “Danger” (2014), then Jimin dancing to “I need U“ (2015), then Suga to “Fire” (2016), then Jungkook dancing to “Save me” (2016) then Jhope dancing to “Fake Love” (2018) then RM finishing it off with that walkout to “Dionysus” (2019). These guys really said we don’t know 2018 😂.
Also the backing track to the Dance break during Dionysus was a remix to their 2013 song “N.O”.

They opted to a Greek theme because the song is called 'Dionysus' the God of wine in Greek mythology. The second song is one of their early songs called 'Boy in Luv' from their school trilogy that's why they went with the school theme and then they transit to one of their recent song called 'Boy with Luv' from Map of the soul trilogy that inspired by Jung's Map of the soul book which is about your inner personas. Boy With Luv is in the same album as the first song which is called 'Persona'. Then they transit to Mikrokosmos the reason why they crowd was pretty quiet was because it was a pre-recorded (same with the scene with just the horses in Dionysus intro) and then they transit into their live performance dance solos (Idol,Danger, I NEED U,FIRE, Save Me, Fake Love, Dionysus).I've watched them live in New York Citifield in 2018 and New Jersey Metlife Stadium in 2019. BTS member have their solo songs so each member has their own stage for solos. BTS concert Setlist is about 25-30 songs total with 5 of them being medley

The lights represents each member as they form the constellation the Corona Borealis. Since this is a performance to Greek gods, the constellation was from Greek mythology representing when God Dionysus gave the crown to Cretan Princess Ariadne who put it in the heavens. It was named the Northern Crown in Latin, first catalogued by the Greek astrologer Ptolemy. When all 7 lights are in place, that is what the constellation looks like.

Yes, there were piece “pre recorded” from them performing live in front of a smaller crowd and then played during the broadcast to allow for wardrobe and stage changes; however, the members still came out when not getting in place for the next part and still did their parts live on stage in front of the whole award attendance (except for the fact that JK did his part minus the water since he had to be ready for Dionysus right after and couldn’t be wet😅). There are fancams that show them Performing their parts while the broadcast was airing the prerecorded bits. Even though they could sit it out since it is being broadcasted, they still want to give their all for ARMy and make those there in person enjoy it as much as possible. They are so dedicated. 😍💜

The lights that come down above the stage form the constellation Corona Borealis. It represents the crown given to Ariadne by Dionysus then cast into the heavens at the time of their wedding. ( there are seven stars, being gifted to ARMY)
Dionysus is the Greek God of wine and festivities. BTS's song is about getting drunk on art. The Korean words for art and alcohol share a similar sound.
The leopards seem out of place but the stories of Dionysus have him riding with leopards as he traveled showing people how to make wine.

they say that the elements in this performancen (Esp the last part, from the blowing of the horn onwards) are iconography pertaining to the Olympian gods and more specifically to the god Dionysus.. For example, the 7 bulbs form the constellation Corona Borealis, which represents the crown given by Dionysus to his wife Ariadne. Dionysus is also very much tied to Jungian Psychology, which is the basis of their Map of the Soul album(s). One fan theory that I was mostly intrigued about is that the performances signal the coming of Dionysia which is a huge festival in honor of the god Dionysus. and back then we knew BTS was preparing for their Map of the Soul world tour, which unfortunately didnt happen because of the pandemic.

The band's 40-minute performance is the result of three months of preparation.
the members represented the 7 Greek gods. Of course, the venue for the ceremony at the time of BTS's performance turned into Mount Olympus. Jin- Pallas Athena; Suga - Hephaestus; J-Hope - Zeus; RM - Dionysus; V- Apollo; Jimin - Artemis; Jungkook is Poseidon.
They took away 8 awards, 4 of which are daesangs (grand prizes) (no one has ever won 4 prizes at once in ‘one evening’).
The stage production alone employed 270 people, and 170 singers joined BTS's seven members on stage. It took three dozen additional makeup artists to create the look for each participant in the numbers, and the costume designers selected 218 vestments!
11 songs were used for the performance.
According to the employee of the award itself, the guys literally fell off their feet after the performance, some of the guys, becoming a group, literally carried in their arms.

ALWAYS. i’ve been to their concerts before, back when they only do arenas so the distance between the artists and audience was much more nearer (i was in the barricade like literally 5 meters away), and they really DO THINGS LIKE THIS even before. it’s life changing seeing them perform live. you’ll never see anything better. it just not the same when you watch other artists anymore. the bar is so high, in terms of set production, performance quality, everything. because of their growth, their stages got way bigger now, but they always do perform like it’s their last show.

I loved it all but my favourite part was Jimin's Contemporary dance it's just so beautiful... Jungkook's dance is a close second for me. The dance you preferred was JHope's he use to be a street dancer so it's very much his style interesting the song he used was fake love but a remix version.
Yes BTS are something else when they perform but they are human and do get very tired there are behind the scene documentary's that show this, they might get breaks between singing/rapping but the dancing alone is hard. I've not actually seen them live but I've watched enough of the concert as they pretty much record all of them and release them on weverse, Vlive or an DVD so yeah the do separate out either into sub-units or solo to do group/solo songs.
However sometimes if it's for a muster/festa (they do special concert/performances on their anniversary such as the BTS room live that you watched) they do separate dance performances such as in 2018 Jimin and JK danced to Black or white and in 2017 Jhope, Jimin and JK did a dance as well under the group name 3J you can find dance practices and performance on the BANGTANTV youtube channel and much more.

the theme of the album released in 2019 was somewhat connected to the greek mythology. before the Dionysus performance itself every member had a solo performance with some of remixes of their biggest songs over their seven years, each member represent a god or goddess
    • V (Taehyung), No More Dream Remix (2013), Apolo, god of the sun
    • Jin, Dander (2014). Athena, goddess of wisdom and war, or Ares, god of war. stage point to the battle of Troy and the Trojan Horse
    • Jimin, I Need U (2015), Artemis, goddess of the moon and twin to Apollo
    • Suga, Fire (2016) Hephaestus, god of fire, or Hades, god of the underworld
    • Jungkook, Save Me (2016), Poseidon, god of the sea
    • J-Hope, Fake Love (2018), Zeus, god of lightning and thunder
    • RM, Dionysus (2019), Dionysus himself, god of wine and art, complete with thyrsus - wooden wand entwined with ivy and grape leaves, a symbol of prosperity, fertility, hedonism, and pleasure/enjoyment in general, it's compared to a mic. Dionysus is a God often called Eleutherios which means the liberator, because his wine, music and ecstatic dance freed his followers from self-consciousness and the restraints of society. As BTS compare wine to the art in the song, they are Dionysus of music industry, the gods of music and dance, who gift their listeners freedom, food for thought and a helping hand to be strong and be better
seven lights that were hanging down formed the Corona Borealis - the constellation that represents the crown of Ariadne, given to her before the marriage to Dionysus, made by the god Hephaestus

I’ve been an ARMY since 2015, back then they did not get many opportunities to showcase their abilities on TV so when they did get a slot at ANY show, they went harddd! Their company was still small, but they invest their money where it matters the most. For BTS, its their live performance.
Have a look at their performance on MAMA 2014 and MMA 2015. They may not get as much screen time as they did in 2017 onwards, but they made sure people noticed them. And I think the strategy’s paid off, their award show performance is something people look fwd to and would pay for even if it was only for 40 minutes.

You truly understand the magnitude of this performance when you know the BTS discography. They put so much emphasis on their earlier works here, and so many remix versions of their songs were done just for this performance. The effort their whole team went into must have been insane.

I would recommend you BTS MMA 2018 too, their performance every year at MMA is amazing.
Most of the little light you saw in the video is BTS's lighsticks, used by ARMY to cheer for BTS's performance, it called ARMY BOMB.

I am 74 years old. I discovered BTS earlier this year. I was also blown away. I have watched everything about them since they formed BTS in 2013. It was a long hard road for them to get to where they are. I have bought CD's and listen to them on SPOTIFY. I love many genres of music and stage shows and have never been addicted to any groups or singers. Please listen or read the English subtitles of their songs, there are meaningful messages in their songs. BTS members are all talented in their own right. It's taken me hours and hours of watching everything they have done. Jimin is the artist that can reach those unbelievable high notes. He is also trained from a very young age in Contemporary Dance. 3 Wrappers and Hiphop are the oldest . RM, Jayhope and Sugar. 4 vocalists. Hope you enjoy the ride. And yes, their live performances are exceptional. ❤

The piano instrumental in back of the interlude after Mikrokosmos is the Christmas hymn O Come O Come Emmanuel. The MMA's take place during the winter holidays.
Park Jimin, whose high voice you admired, had early training in martial arts as well as dance. He holds a Taekwondo black belt. He has spectacular muscular control throughout his body, which in part is why he is one of the two main dancers. He uses that muscular control to achieve high pitch and a bright timbre. According to several voice coaches who have talked about him on CZcams, he does not use falsetto, his high singing is a head voice. Because he does not use falsetto, he transitions from his lowest (chest voice) to his highest (head voice) range without breaks.
His natural voice is a standard tenor, with a lot of color, including moments of bright timbre. This is due in part to his coming from the Busan region. The Busan satoori, or Busan regional Korean dialect, has a lot of up-and-down intonations, compared with standard or Seoul Korean, and other Korean satooris. Because he has almost perfect pitch, and his voice control is so strong, BTS musical design relies on him for many of the high parts, and for a lot of the ad libs and high harmony parts. He is actually capable of more than the standard parts he is usually assigned. One of the vocal coaches who discussed his work noted that she could see him raising his larnyx within his throat, so it was right up under his chin, and that's how he is able to achieve those clear bright sounds in his high range. That was muscular control being put to service to tell a musical story, being driven by his almost perfect ear.
I started following BTS when their Boy With Luv MV came out. What got me was the quality of Park Jimin's movement. His dance. It was only later that I understood the importance of his versatile vocals.
All of BTS have an incredible work ethic. But none more than Park Jimin. Besides muscular control, I also believe the quality of his dance movement, which is as powerful yet nuanced as his vocals, and his ability to focus mentally, as well as support his teammates, come from his martial arts training. If you're interested in that possibility, check out the ethics for Taekwondo.
In this show, of the 3J choreography solos (j-hope, Jimin, Jung Kook), only Jimin's was done live on stage in front of the award show audience.
There is excellent behind-the-scenes and dance practice footage for this performance, on the BTS BangtanTV channel. If you find something there that you like, but it does not include English closed captioning, see if there is a copy on the fan-run Bangtan Subs channel, where there often are copies that have English subtitles layered over.
All the stuff I wrote above about BTS or Jimin was picked up from people who know way more than me, via CZcams, or factual articles.
I am considered OT7, meaning I love all of BTS equally. However, I also recognize that Park Jimin brings something special to anything he does.

It is the respect that BTS has for its public and ARMY that in each award ceremony give their soul, their talent, their physical effort.
And they still call them "That Korean Boy Band" and question their success.
This is a clear example of why they are number one worldwide.
Talent, professionalism, Principles, love for their fans, being genuine, is the definition of a good artist and the answer to BTS's success.
