I remember going to the owens corning website about 3 or 4 years ago and it said the color only affects the temp about a fraction of a percent due to the fact that its a petroleum/tar based product. 🤷🏽♂️
Hey there! This is definitely true of asphalt shingles - due to the nature of the material they are going to absorb heat no matter what color they are. Black shingles have a much lower solar reflectance than lighter colors though, and this can translate to a difference in surface temperature of up to 15 degrees!
