Come and join me as I head into Wales for a fun day of no pressure photography.
So what's the backstory behind this video?
Well, I’m a Landscape photographer, based in the UK, searching for interesting locations, mainly around the UK, but also travelling further afield. I endeavour to make all of my videos as interesting as possible, with editing skills I've picked up over the years, also with adding music to match the mood of the locations and images. Using a basic set up, consisting of my DJI Osmo Action, my Mavic Pro Drone (although not all the time) and either my trusty Nikon D850 or my Nikon D7200 cameras, for the images.
I always show my images, no matter how unhappy I am with them, I think you as the viewer deserve to see the good along with the bad, after all, if it’s on the video, you've already seen behind the scenes.
So sit back, grab a coffee or a tea, relax and enjoy my slightly unprofessional, sometimes comical, but always crammed with passion video.
Don’t forget to Like, Subscribe and leave a comment, they always let me know that creating this material is being watched and appreciated.

Thank you so much Tony, really appreciated mate. All the best. 👍
Thoroughly enjoyed watching that honey. Lovely to see you out enjoying yourself and doing what you do best! Love the images and I’m glad you didn’t brave the slippy rocks! Xxx
Thank you poppet, yeah I was staying away from the rocks. Xxx
Such a lovely video, so glad you explored the locations, they look amazing. Love the pictures too. And the car, very cool!
Thank you so much, really appreciated. And yeah the car is pretty cool, thanks again. 👍
Really enjoyable mate, I've watched this twice already. The images are brill, I never really shoot in daylight conditions, but these show you can and get good results too. Keep it up mate. Missed watching these, glad all is well.
Thanks mate, really appreciated. So glad you liked the vlog and the images
Enjoyable video Ben, great location very scenic. I thought your images were very nice. Glad the the car went well for you.
Thank you so much John, really appreciated. Hope you all well. 👍
It's been awhile. Nice to see you out and about and the video and pics were fine for a pleasant scouting trip and spin in the little car. I enjoyed seeing the locations and the music was nice, too.
Thanks Bill, really appreciated mate.
Yeah it was a very enjoyable day out. 👍
Ben you got some very nice shots. I like shooting the non touristy locations, the ones anyone can find that aren’t super secret only accessible to special photographers 😁
Love your TT, a friend of mine asked me to shoot photos of his years ago…
Hey could you ship us that phone box, we’d love to place it in our yard.
Thank you so much Hugh. Yeah agree mate, there are some great location to be had that way!
Yeah the TT is a bit of fun and I love driving it along the Welsh roads.
Oh yes the phone boxes are becoming more and more rare in the UK and people are starting to collect them. They’re also now used in some parts as defibrillator stations or mini libraries.
Thanks again mate, all the best.
Nice video Ben, I’ve never been to the aqueduct, even though I’ve had it listed on my Google Maps for a number of years. I must say though, you really shocked me when you said you’d never been to Dyserth Falls, well, what waterfalls there are anyway, I’ve been going for as long as I can remember.
P.S.
Glad to hear the little car is back to its best.
Thank you so much Brian, yeah never even heard of Dyserth Waterfall, but it’s a lovely location. The aqueduct is well worth a visit, breathtaking from the top.
Thanks again mate, all the best. 👍
We have never shot Dyserth waterfall - it is just one of those locations we haven't got to. Pontcysyllte on the other hand is one of the jewels in Wrexham's crown. If you are in that vicinity again getting on The Panorama overlooking Castell Dina's Bran might be worth a sunrise stop
Oh thank you so much, I’ll do some research on that location and have a nip out to there. Thanks again. 👍
You're right, we don't need a reason. Often the best reason is just because we can.
Absolutely Craig, completely agree. 👍
I have the 24-70 2.8 for my D850 and love it. I was considering the 14-24. What are your thoughts on it?
I have to be honest, it’s the most difficult to understand, at 14mm it can warp things, but with a bit of practice you can make it work to your advantage. It certainly comes with me most times and is handy when you need to get a wide shot. Shooting at 16 mm and up and it’s a really nice lens. 👍
@@BenMcDonaldPhotographyThanks so much. Love your channel!
Thanks mate, really appreciated. 👍
