Building a window jamb can be a difficult task so it pays to do it right. Taking good measurements and using the proper material will ensure your jamb looks good and lasts for a long time.
Hello there Stevo!!! Nice job building the box. As you say, it's a simple 'box' but there are important things to pay attention to in order for it to fit the window properly. The use of the shims really helps get it aligned and make it square. A really nice job. Take care!!!
Basement window jambs never get the attention they deserve. There is a lot to do to get er right but it is worth it. When you are good and square the trimming is way easier. Stevo
that's a good demonstration and explanation. Those oscillating multi tools are so handy, at first I thought they were just another gadget but they are great,, and a hammer is the best adjuster..lol
I use a 1/2-inch MDO board. 3/4 would be nice but it is a little on the expensive side. It is really nice stuff to work with and would not use anything else. Thanks. Stevo

I could not live without that oscillating saw, use it all of the time. Thanks. Stevo
I’m guessing you’re using 3/4” MDO board? I’m just about to start this exact project in my basement, really appreciate the videos. Thanks

Thank you muchly for subscribing. Hope I can keep you amused. Stevo J
Man it looks like a bi-level. Great basements. My tiny basement windows are boxed. I used oak 1/4 inch and some fill you can't see. You work too hard.
I put in a larger window with a well to meet code. It was a lot of work. Stevo
@@stevoj8959 Yes I get it.
