Yes, they are adapting their soundscape in order to be performed live more easily, just like Netsky, but unlike Netsky, they haven't forgotten what made them Fred V & Grafix. The lush atmosphere and ethereal, inspired bassline are all still there. Keep it up lads, you're doing amazing things.

Rock-infused DnB has been around for quite some time! Pendulum, The Prodigy, Qemists and Modestep to name a few big artists that have done this already, although they're more rock, less indie sounding I guess :p

This track, like most of the album is decent. Unfortunately, all in all the album is a far cry from Oxygen, which was a masterpiece imo. None of the new tunes comes close to anthems like Ultraviolet or Ignite. My favs from the album are Fire with Fire, which is a much needed slice of somewhat different and Searchlight which is very representative for their new sound - I just like it the most out of the multiple tunes with that sound. Coincidentally, both tracks have no vocals. It was cute with Hurricanes, but deciding to not do a single tracks with vocalists and instead go for their own heavily edited vocals on almost every track was a big mistake imo. It gets bland and generic if its on almost every tune and sometimes a straight up great vocal from a good singer is just plain better than adding a million effects to a self made one. I love FV&G, but I hope they understand that they need to diversify more and bring back vocalists for their next album, so we can finally hear new classics from them.

My favourite one has to be the title track "Cinematic Party Music". That song does feel like a successor to "Major Happy".
