    Correction: A slip of the tongue by Alex. The shutter speed for night shots should be 1/160 (as you can see on the camera), not 1/60.
    Really glad that you all find the video useful and thanks for the comments!

    Since buying my 1st DSLR last year I've watched so many vids to help my self takes, this is by far one of the best I've seen! In just a few minutes during the camera settings section I learnt way more than I have in dozens of hours online!!

    Great watch I've got a cannon 750D which I always leave at home cus I use my phone but after watching this video it's giving me the confidence to get it back out as you made it look simple to get the setting right which I've always struggled with so thanks and to be honest my canon takes better pictures than my phone . I use a rhino foot pedal for self takes 👍😀

    There is no clearer explanation. nicely told Alex! Personally, I would always use the raw function because there is much more information in a photo and you can edit it better in Lightroom.

    Great video!!! How would you get rid of the glare on the fish? Sometimes that ruins my shots and just can’t seem to get rid of it

    • @TrakkerTV
      @TrakkerTV  Před rokem

      Hi Damien, a polarising filter can sometimes help with that

    • @s1opp
      @s1opp Před rokem +2

      If your light / flash is in line with the camera, the light will always reflect back at the lens.
      You should use a diffuser or bounce card to soften the light by spreading it out, instead of a small point source.
      Better still, get your light / flash off the camera.
      If you can't do those, then try and hold the fish at an angle, so the light doesn't bounce straight back, it only needs to be a couple of degrees

    • @russbedford1
      @russbedford1 Před rokem

      Placing the camera further away will reduce the glare but you will need to zoom in on the photo while editing like Alex has shown 👌🏼

    Hi, when you are doing your night photos, you suggest turning your lights off. Have you already set up the focal point or is the camera able to re-focus in the dark?

    • @TrakkerTV
      @TrakkerTV  Před 11 měsíci

      Hi Steven. The camera refocus’ in the dark

  • @AnthonyHollandAnglingAdventure

    Hi, I’ve seen on other videos that for a crop sensor the 50mm isn’t the best. I’ve just got myself a 250d and a 50mm should I look to change this before I use it or will it be ok?

    • @TrakkerTV
      @TrakkerTV  Před rokem

      Hi Anthony, a 50mm fixed will be perfectly suitable for your catch shots. It's what most anglers use as the 35mm prime lens from canon is expensive.
