  • A demonstration of the Bosch GSC 12V-13 cordless sheet metal shear. Test cuts were made using .016, .025, .032 and .040 6061-T6 aluminum. These are the thickness of sheet metal I generally work with in the construction of my aircraft.

Towards the end of the video you will probably notice me suddenly drop the shear and jump back. Sometimes hornets get into the shop and I felt something land on my head. Turned out it was just a lady bug.

Thank you. Informative! - I may add from the manual: the gap should be 10% of the sheet thickness, and the tool should be held at 80..90° (side view) to the sheet.

Wray is an awesome teacher hey! I managed to find on a local auction a new old stock Bosch 18V cordless shear with charger and 2 5 AH batteries, for the princely sum of $180 Australian Kopecs ($120 freedom dollars) I found it a bit tricky getting a cut started on 2mm Ali, but now you mention blade gap, perhaps that is my issue! Thanks for your review mate!

That is a good deal on the shear. I never get that lucky finding things at a discount like that.

Yeah was an absolute score! On the day Wray posted his vid I went looking, found grays online had a close out auction for some project up north. Took a bit of juggling to get it collected, but was an absolute score for sure

Thank you for this very informative video. May I ask you -- was there any kind of import duty when you purchased it on ebay from Korea?

Lol just so you know red and green hand shears are not left or right handed, it just cuts metal in different directions so you dont get bends in the piece you want....architectural sheet metal worker
