- Metallica perform a new song called "Just a Bullet Away" (working title "Shine") for the first time ever. Recorded live @ The Fillmore in San Francisco, California on December 7th, 2011 (the second of four Metallica 30th birthday concerts). Part 1: • Metallica - Just a Bul...
- Hudba
The melody in the middle section of this song is, IMO, the best thing they've written since puppets.
Metallica the best band of the world... Come on to Brazil for more shows!!!
This is the best song they've written in years. I hope the rest of the album is going to be this good...or even better.
im telling u thts one of the most beautiful interludes iv heard
By far Metallica's most technical solo in my opinion
I LOVE JAMES' HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember James playing that clean riff in Norway Bergen '08!
this clean tone part is tight, very cool stuff
awesome tune! just.....awesome!
damn i love that solo..
reminds me of some legacy/testament, Metal is with Metallica \m/
Kirk and James at its best. Nice interlude.
awesome song... nuff sed
@diosplaga It's not about being the fastest, fanciest, skilled drummer. It's about playing what contributes to the music and Lars does EXACTLY that. If you've seen A Year and a Half, you'd know how much time he spends fine tuning the drumming to fit the song.
@live4death7
No its in 400Hz standard. The 3 chord intro to this 2nd part ends with a D chord. That is probably the reason why it sounds like a D tuning to you. Its a weird progression is played using down picking strokes. I love that progression....it is so original and cool as hell!
This song reminds me of how The Sword does some of their riffs.. nice :)
After St Anger Metallica seems to be returning to their roots. Death Magnetic and Beyond Magentic sound like ...and Justice for All, in my opinion.
Hopefuly their next album will sound more like Master Of Puppets.
This interlude and Hell and Back really bring nice memories to me.
Best
Really great tune. Its pretty unique musically in my opinion. Reminds me of the Black Album a bit :P
@medicineman01 kirk said in an interview the next album wil be a 'heavier version of what we did in the early nineties" (the black album)
I don't know how some people done like this song D: I like it u.u
@MayorMcZombie ... this was recorded at the same time as the rest of the songs on Death Magnetic.
wooow james' solo it's awweesomee *__* but i miss the vocals in the clean part like in the studio version
i was the 100 like
I just these idiots who say things like " James is not as good as he used to be in the 80's or early nineties" The people who say this crap always have blank you tube pages, they are most likely are not musicians. Therefore, they don't have a clue to what they are talking about.. James Hetfield's music is always improving and in my opinion Metallica's DM material is just as good as anything they have ever recorded in the past.
The clean tone part reminds me a bit to Ktulu :)
@schnarfel Yea sad :/ Really like that song
@EvilSkeltos Maybe thats why it didn't make it on DM.
Omg really what didn´t they play? It's like they've played all the rare songs in 5 days xD plus some new o.O
@stupidbomb1 i Agree bro. Thanks for not being ignorant. I didnt like st anger or lulu but shit it happens and thats only my opinion. lets face these guys have put on age. This is the beginning of a comeback.
@evil1reborn yeah, he did, it was pretty easy though
Robs fingers move like a silk spider.
@DisabledBee
It's a fucking good part
Hey what kind of camera did you use to record teh video ? nice sound recording,,,
@jedimaster0911 You honestly think the drumming in this song is anything other than 100% vanilla playing? Lars writes great music, but he isn't in top form anymore and it shows with how he plays his catalogue these days. Heard him play Thingy lately? He cuts out most of what makes the drumming so great in the track. There is a reason for that.
la mitad
The clean part reminds me more of Master of Puppets than Ktulu.
@dusted04 just typ "a heavier version of what we did in early nineties' in google
Are they playing in D flat? Sounds good!
It sounds like JAYMEZ has had time to work on his lyrics because this is way better than the shit on Death Magnetic, lyrically. Lets hope they don't fuck it up in the studio on the mix.
@danielleseman97 where do i find that interview
Hetfield should play more solos \m/
iImiI
Maybe they'll play this next?:/watch?v=cezAr8jLrC8
