Us south florida fire fighters are not used to full wood construction fires. Especially a multi-story, multi family wood building. Almost all buildings down here are concrete block construction. Wood construction fires are much different than cmu block construction. The risk of collapse or falling through an elevated wood floor is much higher than a concrete slab. Higher risk of a flash over, and they can burn much faster. The fire doesn't have to jump over a concrete wall to spread. I'm sure it didn't have any fire suppression systems or construction as it was built in 1920's

I'm kind of surprised that they would have such a large building with wooden infrastructure and not adequate sprinkler system
What pisses me off is. They also have a faulty wiring system for the fire alarms which made them incredibly sensitive
