It is understandable that when Pakistanis (Muslims) discuss Indian polls, they do it through Muslim prism, but Indian elections are not just about muslims. There are several factors at play that may make the Indian scenario too complex for Pakistanis to understand. The important takeaway of the elections for the Pakistani audience is that the Indian National Congress President, Mr Kharge and other opposition leaders were present at the oath-taking ceremony to congratulate the NDA leadership!

Don't just see the percentages but see the number of seats they are contesting. BJP contests in way more seats than Congress or any other party. Congress usually has alliances with regional parties where it doesn't has presence like in Tamil Nadu and so. BJP on other hand establishes its offices, campaign and contest for seats in every corner of the country.

Pakistan AKA Indian Muslim majority state separated based on the 1946 election. Now there are 250 million Muslim AKA as a 5th front for Pakistan votes only to defeat BJP even after equally benefiting from all the BJP government schemes without any negative discrimination for being a Muslim. Pakistan is an euphemism for Indian Muslims who are loyal to the ideology of Pakistan that Muslim cannot be ruled by the Hindus. To defeat consolidated Indian Muslim votes against the BJP, it needs to be consolidating Hindu voters fragmented based on caste and regions by using the Pakistan factor. Pakistan election minority have zero influence.

One thing I would disagree with Umar Cheema is that: Yes Poverty is prevalent in India but millions of Indians did came out of poverty in recent years. Also he is saying that govt schemes are ideas of political parties. No. India has always been a socialist country. Even if India gets more middle class,it will remain as Socialist country. Something are related to your culture and India is a partly collectivist society. You can't alienate socialism from Indian society.

The biggest take away for you Pakistanis from the recently concluded Indian elections is, unlike your country, our army or for a matter of fact any Institution does not influence this process. In your country, if one has to bluntly put it, though you have a so called election, the government is selected by the army ignoring the voice of the people. The last election in your country is a case in point.

why BJP lost so many seats:
    1. Modi lost a lot of political capital by pushing much-needed but unpopular policies like Agri Reforms, Agniveer, GST, Labor reform (ask any unbiased experts, these policies are so much needed for Indian economy, people been talking about it for decades but no one dared to push it, Modi did and lost a lot of political capital)
    2. Arrogance and complacency from BJP party and voters
    3. Sidelined RSS machinery by BJP
    4. 10 years of anti-incumbency
    5. BJP's washing machine policies in which politicians from other parties were coerced to join BJP
    6. Opposition's improved planning and outreach
    7. Foreign media interference and negative propaganda against Modi
    8. Electoral bond issue
    9. Negative sentiments due to opposition suppression like the freezing of congress account and Kejriwal's arrest
    10. Consolidation of anti Modi votes..........

Absolutely great discussion. Impartial and well researched . Few key observations.
    1. Muslims are NOT persecuted in India. A robust civil society activists ensures it.
    2. In welfare schemes like free toilets, housing, gas, water connection, loans BJP went out of the way to make sure Muslims benefits. Muslims themselves openly agree that they took max advantage. But still even 1% didn't' vote for the BJP. This will have a negative reaction in the coming days. There's already a statement "jo hamare saath hum uske saath".
    3. Another start reality is a famous truth about Indian voting behaviour. "Indians don't cast their votes, they vote for the caste". In UP the failed caste arithmetic went against BJP.
    4. Ayodhya loss:- Ayodhya is a city in Faizabad district. This is not a reserved seat. The SP took risk of giving ticket to SC candidate which turned the tables in BJP.
    5. Thinking Pakistani must revisit their opinion of Modi, BJP , RSS and hindutwa. You guys are fed leftist propoganda of left dominated Indian and western press.
    6. The most influential opinion maker Prof Dr Parvez Hoidbhai only invites hard-core Marxist to his Black Hole discussion. Never a RW or independent analyst from India.
    6. Pakistan Experience Shehzad Shaikh too follows and invites left liberals.
Both these ideologies are politically irrelevant and since our Pakistani brothers and sisters believe it as a gospel truth.
Unless your intellectuals engage BJP, RSS, RW and independent thinkers you will continue to get biased inputs and reach wrong conclusions.

A good discussion overall where there is acknowledgement that Pakistan needs to see and analyse India from a different prism. Some points to ponder over here:
    1. This election was a true reflection of what the Indian population thinks. The election machinery here is robust despite all the allegations of foul play.
    2. As one of the observers rightly said, Muslims are not a homogenous entity in India and therefore to have the notion that they are all oppressed is absolutely not correct. Otherwise, there wouldn't be so many Muslims in India's public life.
    3. In Pakistan, there is scant regard for India's concern for cross border terrorism. Even now, there are repeated attacks in the Jammu with a clear Pakistan imprint. Kargil war happened after Vajpayee went to Lahore, Mumbai 26/11 happened when we were talking peace. Uri and Pathankot followed. The onus is on you to establish the faith. Any other government in India is also unlikely to change the current policy regarding Pakistan.

Southern Indian states are economically more prosperous, and the populations therein are better educated on average. However, Hinduism is a North Indian faith. Hindu scriptures are penned in Sanskrit, a language from which most North Indian languages originated. Superficially, many customs and conventions of South Indians appear similar, but I don't think that they are related to Hinduism. Tamil is an extremely old language through which the South Indian cultures found expression in both theological and societal domains. In fact, in Tamil Nadu, people are quite antagonistic to Hinduism and its ritualistic fervor derived from the Vedas.

This analysis either hid or failed to recognize that BJP's vote share in urban areas grew by 6.4%. In Rajasthan, Congress's vote share remained the same as 2019. Congress won 11 seats because of internal rift and battles with BJP in Rajasthan. In UP, Yogi was kept in the dark when deciding for ticket distribution, and Dalits were influenced by Congress's fake propaganda that BJP will amend the constitution, which is ironic because Congress's 2024 poll manifesto states, "2. The Congress guarantees that it will pass a constitutional amendment to raise the 50 per cent cap on reservations for SC, ST and OBC."
