- The response to this year's RSD Black Friday list have been a bit lackluster. In this video, I give my dream list of re-issues. Of course, everything would be color vinyl, mastered from the original sources, and $5.99 each. Dream on...
- Hudba
The funny thing about those AC/ DC Australian albums - back in 81, they were a dollar cheaper than the American counterparts. I got those 1981 issues for $ 4.99 each
Great video! Just realized I've got that Tracy Chapman and Willie on vinyl. Would LOVE to get that Dwight Yoakam, amazing album
Robert, with the robe look-I think you truly are gradually turning into Mark Hamill. Not a bad thing!
I really like your dream about all these reissues for 5.99....Everybody would win!
Such an awesome video brother
Thanks!!
Thank God for that ending. I was starting to worry that you had been poisoned.
They should make a 3xLP boxed set of the three different versions of "Jefferson Airplane Takes Off." It would be redundant, but complete, haha.
I am so with you on wanting Monster Magnet and Danzig reissues! I want Dopes to Infinity and Powertrip!
Great video! I found myself talking to your video as I was agreeing with you on most all especially the Tracy Chapman , my wife was laughing at me as I was agreeing with you 😂. I settled for a cd instead a few weeks ago for 3 bucks. Great ending as well !
You hit the nail on the head about RSD . I’m so tired of these releases nobody wants. I think the only one I want is the Sparks release.
I like how you point out the crazy prices of some of these OG releases
The Mother's of Invention - Freak Out, Absolutely Free, We're Only in it for the Money, Cruising with Ruben and the Jets
Good point regarding bootlegs.. In my opinion that's the reason there was a live gig bootleg market mainly in the early 2000s? A full concert. Yup, labels missed out a trick with that one.
Thanks for the wonderful video as usual. My dream RSD release would be the third album by Television and anything from Tom Verlaine's vault. Obviously, as you mentioned, the debut album by Jefferson Airplane is a must, too.
The CD release of Jefferson Airplane Takes Off from 2003 which I have has 9 extra tracks on two cd’s one stereo the other mono. Also Runnin’ Round This World was the first song recorded and was the b-side to Its No Secret, their first single released in February 1966!
I have that CD. I featured it in my video about CD releases thatvare better than the vinyl version. I never understood why RCA thought it was OK to release that song as a b-side, but then pulled it off of the album. Is the 45 version the one where the word "trips" is replaced with a sound like on "Early Flight"?
@@RobertFithenThe word trips is on the single! Let Me In and Run Around original lyrics were also censored before the album was released!
I agree on the Dwight Yoakam album. I love him. 😍
Manythnx Robert 🤘some great choices there.we can all dream..like Kiss UHQR😁
He’ll yes to Midnight Vultures on vinyl!!!
Nice! All of the IRS R.E.M. albums need a reissue. I’ve been looking for murmur and Reckoning for years now…
Agree we need a damn Tool Aenima reissue.
Complete Tool catalogue
They would need to taylor swift #s on the pressing of that cause everyone would want Aemima lol
Man, I was thinking you were sincere about Pet Sounds for a minute! Technically, an illicit reissue of an official release is not a "bootleg", but a "pirated" issue. I'm with you on the Beck. I have the old AC/DC albums. I would like to see "Live at Atlantic Studios" released. I sold my copy about 10 years ago and it haunts me. I refuse to even look it up on Discogs...
"Live At Atlantic Studios" sounds perfect for an RSD release.
Just realised I'm watching you in your dressing gown as I'm in my dressing gown.
Onya Robert! Stay on your meds Man - your dreams may improve with time...
I would love to see Status Quo Piledriveror, Slade, Sladest , and Alice Cooper Love it to Death
I have the original Danzig II, it doesn't fold out, lol. And yeah I would like to see those first four. And yes there was a Danzig IV lp.
Here here! If There Was A Way also from Dwight. Need that on new wax.
Here’s THE reissue that would bring everyone running, and yet I hear NO ONE mentioning it; the original 1963 “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan” with the four replaced so-called “controversial” tracks. Bob, it’s getting Ridiculous. LET GO OF THE GRUDGE.
Thought you were doing a 180 on BBs' Pet Sounds - sooo glad that it was just a dream...er...a nightmare!
Lol
Scarlets’ walk was just reissued last month. I have the original From the Choirgirl hotel. Paid $4 for it.
Can someone put you in charge o RSD releases?!? Some excellent choices.
I hugely agree on Midnite Vultures getting a vinyl reissue, Beck was slightly hinting on it like 3 years ago, and of course nothing came of it. I'm not planning on wasting 315 bucks for it. And once they finally come to their senses about that, why not reissue Mellow Gold as well?
That collective sigh 😕 you heard yesterday was RSD retailers after viewing this years 🥱 inducing list. The shark has been jumped. 🦈
I still like the day itself with everything that goes on. I guess fewer exciting releases means spending less money.
The AC/DC Australian albums are a perfect idea. Amazing it hasn't been done yet. I don't like every album you mentioned but they are all excellent suggestions for RSD releases because yeah, they would all absolutely sell. But of course I'm so with you on your brilliant suggestion of a multi-disc vinyl issue of the Pet Sounds set. I mean, that's a no-brainer, right? All those a cappella tracks, backing tracks, and session tracks are just begging to be enjoyed on nice warm vinyl. Picture discs preferably.
With scratch n sniff petting zoo card.
Great please do reissue post on Soul and funk Rsd !
Alice In Chains S/T, all the Ween albums that haven't been repressed, and there's a bunch of early to mid 00's electronic music that could use a repress like all the Tosca albums.
You are just going have to be satisfied with the Beach Boys Christmas Album.
Yes, original pressings go for an average of $15 so I'm really happy there's a much-needed reissue of that. lol
Hahaha... I love the Pet Sounds mention. I'm with you - I don't understand the supposed love for that album. It's okay, I guess, but the hype is ridiculous.
YES 2 CLUTCH!
The one record I'm excited about is The Bottle Rockets. Don't tell @HubTunes but I think I like them more than Wilco.
I definitely prefer Bottle Rockets.
There's actually a Sony Legacy Willie Nelson 'Greatest Hits' slated for release on November 3rd. 22 tracks (including 'Just Breathe' w/ Lukas) over two LPs.
Thanks Robert, nice topic. Man my dream list never seems to happen. The only one I will mention is I wish they would rerelease the first “Mudcrutch.” I love that. And it’s so cool that you showed that AC/DC album, the Australian version of “High Voltage.” I have that. I’ve had it since whenever I bought it in the 70s. Don’t know why I bought it, I just knew it was different. Probably paid six or seven dollars for it. It’s in great shape and it’s probably one of my most prized possessions… album wise. Thanks again.
Mudcrutch would be awesome! I forgot about that one.
I am so with you on the psych records you mentioned Robert and i wish they would all add the gatefold, booklet etc.its like a goldmine just sitting there rotting away. I dont understand it.
2 that come to mind are the first 2 albums by Alison Krauss and Union Station. I believe their first one had a vinyl release the year it came out but thats it. Their second has never had a vinyl release, if im not mistaken
I just picked up Two Highways a couple weeks ago. She's so popular right now those should definitely be re-issued.
One i was waiting for just got released in September and i can't believe they didn't hold off until RSD. Linda Ronstadt "Canciones De Mi Padre"!!
I think there's been a demand for that ever since the documentary was released.
Man I sure could use some Groundhogs reissues! They could put them on dirt brown vinyl 😂
I’d like to see some of the James Brown Polydor label records reissued, Dido, Life for rent, Sinead Lohan, No Mermaid on vinyl. And for the bathroom I need a box set of Dire Straits on brown and yellow vinyl. 😂
I agree on Life For Rent
My biggest wish is to get a vinyl re-issue of Brandi Carlile - The Story. Don’t know if it ever had a U.S. vinyl issue. Originals are ridiculous and mostly located in Europe.
As for the Willie Nelson reference, if I'm not mistaken, isn't RCA and Columbia all under the Sony roof now?
Yes, so it's makes sense to now be able to have the Waylon Jennings duets on a Willie Nelson compilation and even some early Willie that was on RCA.
Brody dalle -diploid love needs a re issue.
Not one bad song on the album.
Copies are selling for $150.00
Off topic, but VWestlife did a video about digital vs. analog which had a clip from you. It was good.
Thanks for letting me know. I'll check it out. He usually has great videos.
The “Could You Understand Me” bootleg from ‘93 sounds amazeballs surprisingly. I might make a response video today on my thoughts with Black Friday releases.
…might have a dream sequence too, who knows??
Please do.

This is how I know I've made the big time.
The end!😂
Plenty of old funk and disco releases. There's a lot of great music from those genres which seemingly don't see the light of day. You have to get them used and more often than not they're in pretty rough shape.
Shotgun Willie will have an RSDrelease, the only one that interest me.
naked eyes first album self titled also called burning bridges in the UK. i dont think its ever been reissued.
Blondie - No Exit. Never released on vinyl 😞
I have to agree with you it's a crime they haven't put kaleidoscopes tangerine dream out it's like next to impossible to get even the reissues are pricey and it's one of the best psych albums ever made
Those Danzig albums would have my ass in line waiting for the store to open.
Monster magnet !
The trouble with Monster Magnet is it's tough to measure the demand. Definitely don't want to press too much of something, that would be a great example. It's just one of those albums that will skyrocket if they don't keep it in print. Kinda like Pearl Jam stuff.
Don't forget people went crazy for the Verve Pipe. Knowing that, I think anything is worthy is a reissue. lol
@@RobertFithen I hear what you’re saying about 90s vinyl, but it’s almost like you can never have too much of it. Rage Against The Machine reissues will be $60 if they don’t keep them in print.
Also, my best guess about Willie Nelson’s Columbia catalog is there’s just so many albums available for cheap. I can even still find Red Headed Stranger for cheap. Record industry likely sees other important Willie records to be pressing.
I would like to see a few hip hop records. Wyclef "The Carnival" , Lil Wayne "The Carter 2" definitely Beck Midnight Vultures. Although weren't the master tapes lost in the fire?
It would make sense since it's Universal.
like to see yoakums tomorrows sounds today on vinyl
Cool video. What Monster Magnet show did you work? I saw the MM/Buckcherry tour like 3 or 4 times. I don't rember them hitting st louis. I saw the Springfield Il, Carbondale and Springfield Mo show. Funny fact, Buckcherry was touring on their new album called Timebomb, which happens to be a first ever release on black friday rsd.
A shout out for some clutch. Transnational speedway and pure rock fury have never been released on album and would be great choices for rsd.
Alice in chains s/t (the one with the dog on the cover), and oysterhead would also be great for rsd.
As for Maynard, i read somewhere that he does not like records. He kinda detests the medium. He's kinda being a tool.
Cheers.
It was the Springfield, IL show. I worked at WQLZ for 8 years.
@@RobertFithenJust an update and a FYI for anyone buying the limited 2000 unit pressing Record Store Day version of the Buckcherry Timebomb album. Real Gone Music used the freaking wal mart censored cd to make the record. Its a fairly raunchy album so with all the censoring, it basically sounds like its constantly skipping. Not cool.
i’ve got midnite vultures on lp!
Definitely Hüsker Dü!
Diesel Watts in a Tank. 1981. Had that song Sausalito Summer Nights. Or the soundtrack to Heavy Metal from 1981 great great soundtrack.
Almost as good of an ending as Newhart! Anyway, speaking of funk, Funk Inc's debut Funk Inc is due, last one was KPG's in 2017 and the prices for that and original pressing are high. Would also like to see "Sinatra -Jobim" (their would be 2nd album with the famous 8 track story) with the original track order and restored cover. I have a bootleg LP from Russia but the cover art is horribly cropped and taken from a low res JPG and the audio is from digital from the Sinatra/ Jobim CD box set which was needlessly remixed.
You know that Pet Sounds Sessions released on vinyl would be a wet dream for you Robert.
Wet as in cold sweat.
@@RobertFithen lol
Would love the 2 Jellyfish albums reissued
A new Churchills official reissue is coming December 22nd!
You can preorder in Israel, I’m not sure who’ll bring it here.
Excellent! Thanks for the info
You needed to have been drinking a White Russian during that video.
I'm so glad I don't want those albums, because I don't have the money for them.
The jug isn’t prevalent on the 4th 13th Floor Elevators album. A Kaleidoscope RSD release would be great. There are so many Psych albums that would be great.
I will check out that 13th Floor album. I thought they all the jug cranked up.
Man, I'm with you on a lot of these, especially Tool.. WTH is Maynard thinking?! What a dummy! A real missed opportunity there, to say the least.. It's practically Criminal! They need to stop farting around with the lame-ass picture discs and just re-release everything on standard vinyl. I ended up settling for bootlegs, but some legit pressings would sure be nice! 😬
Yeah, there's been several instances of hearing about a re-issue and looking forward to it, only to later find out it will be a picture disc. Who is excited about these?
They need to rerelease all of the Seger stuff that’s been out of print since the 60s and 70s. I’ve never known of a mainstream artist whose early material is so difficult to get a hold of. The weird thing is… rather or not he likes they Noah, Brand New Morning and especially Back in 72 are all competent records. I’m not saying they’re all brilliant or anything, but they’re at least okay. The backstory with Noah specifically is fascinating. Let the fans be the judge.
Surely it was you persuaded them to do Fifty Foot Hose a few years ago? IF so, was grateful...
Ronnie Spector - She Talks to Rainbows
Before Danzig, do Samhain - November Coming Fire, killer album
The Grays - Roshambo on vinyl.
“The Essential Willie Nelson” needs a Vinyl issue.
Arcadia's So Red The Rose
I want all the New Bomb Turks albums reissued!
Ike White - Changin' Times (1976)
I heard Glen Danzig, if he saw any Danzig/Misfits bootlegs in a record store, would steal them right in front of the employees and scold them for ripping him off.
They need to do a VV:2 reissue on vinyl! #viktorvaughn
LOL! I just bought that Morphine cd the other day for a buck.
Did I miss something on Husker Du? How in the hell did SST end up dropping that one?
How didnt Willie Nelson get released on vinyl for his Reader's Digest box set? Can't remember if it was a 3 or 4 cd set.
One i would like to see reissued, again. Would be the original Fonthill release of the only album Warpig did. I forget which label did a reissue maybe 10 years ago, but you get the original album in new packaging. The original goes for all sorts of stupid prices. I bet a beat up original would still go for under $100. But a mint copy can go for $500+, so imagine an original sealed copy? And here's the funny part. The major label reissue on London Records, with the 2nd album cover, and the 2 new recordings of 2 songs (also released on a 45, which is probably the rarest of their releases) but this London album goes for even more then the original indie release from 1970. And then this album disappeared until maybe 2010 when the newest pressing happened. Gonna guess quite limited in black, but even more rare in the 4 or 5 different colored pressings. But what's even more strange is that the cd goes for more then this 3rd reissue. Which was the first cd release of it. But there are plenty of bootleg cds out there, that probably also go for some stupid amount. But at least these kept the original artwork from the indie release. But yeah. This garage/psychedelic/heavy metal album from 1970 needs another reissue. Just to get it out there some more. And RSD would be the best. Just because people just buy RSD stuff like the slaves that they are.
Oh, by the way. You can easily find it on you tube. But just remember, it's Warpig, not War Pig. The entire album can also be found on hoopla. And if ya want, check out the song Rock Star. There's 2 versions. Original indie, and then the London 45 re-recording. Both are on you tube. Last pressing i have personally seen for sale, was $350. Didn't see the vinyl, but the cover looked to be in rough shape.
I've heard the Warpig album, but it's been quite awhile ago. I need to revisit that one.
Dream, dream, dream, dream / When I want reissues in my arms / When I want reissues with high-quality reproductions of the original art / All I have to do is dream
Mr. Fithen Schmillson, I'd like to see Better Luck by The Plugz reissued. The 1981 original pressing and the 1989 repress are expensive. I think a repress would sell well.
And for what may be a pipedream: I'd like Prison by Steven Jesse Bernstein to be repressed. Its only appearance on vinyl was when it first came out in 1992. That was a limited edition run of 1000. I like to think a repress could go through another 1000, but I'm not sure. It's a spoken word album by a rather obscure poet. It could be a tough sell. It goes for a pretty penny on Discogs though.
And your scream was a scream to rival Mark Patton in A Nightmare on Elm Street 2. Nicely done.
A repress of the A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) soundtrack with the original art would be nice. The OG and the repress by Mondo, with different cover art, are rather expensive.
Till next time. Pleasant dreams.
Thanks!! And yes, I know who Mark Patton in "A Nightmare on Elm Street 2" is. There's a full documentary.
Straight outta bathroom^
lol what?
David Lee Roth - Sonrisa Salvaje POST HASTE!
How tf is it almost Black Friday again
AC/DC need hype stickers - ''music for 13 year old boys with tiny willies and latent amusia''.
Majority of Alice In Chains album’s need to be released
🤣🤣👍
I’m waiting for Duran Duran the wedding album with ordinary world and come undone
It's unreal that it hasn't ever been re-issued.
I was certain you somehow liked Pet Sounds, despite your opinions concerning it in past videos.
Every nightmare begins as a dream.
MY RSD wish list consists solely of titles that have not been pressed to wax:
Adam Ant - Wonderful (1995)
Arizona - Welcome Back Dear Children (2006)
Heros Severum - Wonderful Educated Bear (2002)
Dog's Eye View - Happy Nowhere (1995)
Greg Brown - Covenant (2000)
Joe Henry - Trampoline (1996)
Joe Henry - Fuse (1999)
Joe Henry - Scar (2001)
Joe Henry - Tiny Voices (2003)
KMFDM - WTF?! (2011)
Rasputina - Thanks for the Ether (1996)
Rollins Band - Get Some, Go Again (2000)
Tanita Tikaram - Lovers In The City (1995)
Danzig - so of COURSE it would be out on BLACK vinyl. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Didn't Monster Magnet stress in their tour rider that no radio promoters could be Dire Strait fans? 5.99 for Morphine I'll take it then.
I definitely got along better with them than Buckcherry. Lol
Wish they would repress Marilyn Mansons albums i was thoroughly pissed when they cancelled my mechanic animals like a month ago 😢
Yeah, that was a strange situation. I had an opportunity to get one and thought I'd wait, then they were suddenly unavailable and the prices skyrocketed.
I've not joined in with RSD for years now, they just reissue stuff too much or the things that are original are so limited that you won't get one.
I just go mostly for the event of it.
Danzig and Tool, EXACTLY!!! WTF!!! And Alice In Chains 'Tripod'...and we need Megadeth Countdown To Extinction!!! It makes NO sense that none of these have seen a repress. NO SENSE.
Robe chic.
You can go to record store and find Danzig sings Elvis, but not Danzig 1-4
Your provocative and scandalous mention about 5.99 dollars (in europe plus 234.532.948 dollars s/h) i ownestly think will urge some beloved channels like our favourite german guy with so much time and money, chaaadddd, keeeviinnnn ggrraaayyy and others, merchants, mastering - supermen engineers, batmen customers etc, to hunt you down . Dont spoil their money/dream/whatever
Dreaming of a rude awakening.
